The Instant Star is chosen just as Jude is dealing with a personal crisis. The pictures that were taken at Barry's have resurfaced and he wants 50,000 dollars or they go to the press.

When Jude releases her photos herself she suffers some backlash and is forced to sit on Karma's first press conference. Big mistake, since Karma announced live that Jude wasn't a virgin, but instead of correcting her she decides to fight back with Patsy. Meanwhile Tommy finds out about Sadie and Kwest.

Jude finds out that not only will Karma will be doing a cover of her song Tommy will be producing Karma's album. So she decides to produce a song all on her own.

Patsy's behavior is out of control, and everyone can see it. Not only is she wasting studio time, but she's also pulling at Jamie's heartstrings. Everyone decides that enough is enough. Jude tries to get through to Patsy, but it only angers her more. She gets drunk and goes off for a drive...

When Patsy dies it is up to Jude to honor her memory and protect her from G-major vultures and even...Jamie.

After Patsy's death Jude decides to host a benefit concert for homeless kids and is depending on Sadie to help her. But is she pushing Sadie away by constantly depending on her and not doing anything on her own?

Things between Tommy and Jude are getting hot, and now that Jude's turning eighteen, everything seems totally fine... but when something from Tommy's past shows up to haunt him, nothing will be the same.

After Jude approaches Tommy after she's done singing to him, he publicly turns her down.

After being dumped by Tommy at her birthday party Jude has to pretend she isn't affected-on a MTV documentary.

After mistakenly wearing real fur at a fashion shoot Jude tries to make up for it by insulting meat-eaters, which results in everyone turning against her. With all the commotion will everyone see the real threat?

Jude tries to help mend Sadie's love life, and meanwhile Darius is hiding something from Tommy.

Tommy and Jamie both want Jude, and she is forced to make a decision between them.

So Tommy Q. takes Jude -- and her increasingly resentful older sister Sadie -- to a wild hip- hop party being thrown by the magazineâ€s publisher -- someone with whom Tommy has a very complicated history. Jude tries to “play the game” and one-up Eden with disastrous results. Ultimately itâ€s Judeâ€s genuine connection with someone unexpected that saves the day…

Jude is suddenly given a first-class ticket to popularity central when her publicist arranges for Jude to perform her first single in front of the entire school. Jude allows herself to get swept up in all the attention until hit with two unexpected and painful truths: some of the students are planning anti-Jude walkout during the televised concert, and more importantly, her best friend Jamie HATES her new song.

The record company freaks out when Jude plays her new song for the radio powers-that-be and gets some very negative reactions. Tommy's so disappointed in himself that he even threatens to quit. Desperate to keep her number one producer (and crush) in the picture, Jude hatches the perfect plan –insisting that she and Tommy just need to ""get away"" with nothing but a guitar and four-track to perfect Jude's sound. Unusually Zen-like Tommy implores Jude to bury the hatchet – that is, until his own nemesis - and former bandmate - shows up pushing a Boyz Attack reunion. With Tommy desperately trying to shake his past, and Jude trying to control her future, this is one charity event that'll be lucky to end in peace…
