Terry and Rachel set Danny up on a date with their friend Neela, while Sid and Charlie wonder if the rest of the gang has abandoned them.

Danny is feeling guilty after his kiss with ex-girlfriend Rachel and attempts to make the world a better place, while Sid and Charlie become white-van drivers, which calls for the odd burst of sobriety and ends in disaster.

Danny takes Angus out fishing; in return, he gets taught how to hire a call girl. Meanwhile, Terry is feeling guilty and Rachel is loving her dancing lessons.

Danny feels that being the voice of kung fu nurse bear Dexter is demeaning, so he attempts to get into serious acting by auditioning for a BBC comedy drama called Wet Feet, Rachel takes drastic action after finding out about Terry's affair with Neela, and Charlie develops an expensive Charlie habit.

Danny does some hospital charity work in a bid to land a girl he fancies. Meanwhile, Terry is slumming it with Charlie and Sid's filthy flat but is eager to save his marriage, and Angus is discharged from hospital under strict instructions to change his lifestyle.

Danny joins a karate club in the hope of feeling more manly – but a defeat by a child does little for his self esteem; Angus and Terry are trying to repair their relationships; and Charlie is struggling to come to terms with the fact that Sid has a girlfriend.

Danny Spencer is the voiceover actor for a children's TV program character, Dexter, a kung-fu nurse bear. Danny tries to face up to a personal tragedy after the death of his wife. Instead of grief, however, he is ashamed to find himself feeling a sense of freedom.

Danny tries to halt the ageing process by spending time at the pub, while his ego takes a dent when Dawn French makes a guest appearance on Dexter's show.

Danny cannot escape sex; he's not actually having any, but it's everywhere. Terry & Rachel, meanwhile, visit the hospital for her ultrasound scan.

Danny has a dream involving Charlie Higson. Pitying Danny's plight, Bob Geldof sets him up on a blind date.

Dexter the Bear gets nominated for a BAFTA, but Danny has a prior engagement.

With his 40th birthday looming, Danny gives his first-ever interview to the press, but his nerves cause him to drink too much and become somewhat indiscreet.
