Mitchell and best friend Oona commiserate over the state of their lives. Jack goes on a hookup but then gives the guy Mitchell's info to get back at his ex. Mitchell has a date with Keith which takes a bad turn over some lewd phone messages.

Oona drags Mitchell to a party given by her ex Tucker and girlfriend Amy, finding Tucker drunk in the bathtub. Straight guy Russell asks for Oona's number. Jack offers sex to an anonymous guy but they end the night platonicly.

Mitchell gets fired and has a fight with Oona on his birthday which only Jack remembers. Jack lets Scruffy help him get ready for a job interview. Oona wants to break up with Russell for being too nice but he won't let her.
