After having been seen arguing with her boyfriend in an alleyway a young woman is found badly beaten up. When the team look into the case they find her personal life very complex and it complicates the investigation.

After a night out a couple return home to find their daughter missing and the story offered by the nanny ends up being unreliable.

The baby girl's body is found and the nanny's boyfriend look like the guilty party. After being questioned though Sam and Jacob find themselves with a new suspect.

After a teenager is found dead following house party the main suspects are soon revealed to be a couple of his class mates.

Heaton hold a press conference as he attempts to get a confession out of the prime suspects in the case. When the truth is finally revealed Heaton is shocked.

A body of a murdered woman is found in a park. It is soon discovered that the body belongs to a woman who has been missing since 1988 and her family are informed. Heaton seems the similarities in the crime to a murder case he worked on 20 years ago.

With CID hitting a brick wall in the investigation to the death of Susan Clark, Heaton interviews jailed murderer Ian Ellis. When another missing person is revealed, Heaton arrests him for Clark's murder. When the third body is found, Ellis goes on hunger strike and dismisses his solicitor, leading Heaton to come under fire.

Ian Ellis is rushed to hospital following a suicide attempt in his cell, and things only go worse for Heaton when Banksy discovers Ellis was in custody when the third victim went missing, leading Ellis' family to call for Heaton’s job. He promises Ellis a quick release as he recovers in hospital, but Heaton offers to speed up the process if he gives information on two contractors that could be responsible. One is cleared, but the other is hunted down. After a chase, a woman is found unconscious but alive in his van, and Heaton considers using this to open up the suspect's wife.

Smithy finds a taxi driver beaten up and his takings missing. An Oyster Card belonging to Ellie Gladstone is found nearby and she is questioned about the attack. As the case develops another suspect is uncovered.

Nate and Ben investigate a break in at the home of Jill Bentley and learn that that her teenage daughter, Sarah, was home alone. Ben discovers that Sarah was holding a party at the time. After her boyfriend is found beaten up, Sarah admits there was a party and that Aubrey Haynes persuaded her to take drugs and then tried to attack her.

Maria Joseph visits Nate at work to return the handcuffs he left at her house after they spent the night together. He is not happy though when he finds out that she tends to Aisha Katri's wounds at the hospital and did not get her to report being attacked to the police. As they argue Maria informs Nate that Aisha and her family are illegal immigrants.

PCs Millie Brown and Mel Ryder come across a group of Polish teens hassling a burger seller whilst out on patrol. Pawel is arrested and DS Max Carter interrogates him and finds out he is the nephew of Marek, who runs a local extortion racket. When Carter discovers his latest operation he sets up a sting to bring him down and he asks Pawel's stepmother Julie, to help with it.

CID's raid goes pear shaped after the disappearance of Marek Jankowski, and the shooting of informant Cezar Sobiesneki. Cezar's niece, Marek's sister in law Julie, accompanies him to hospital where he dies. Julie blames Carter for Cezar's death, and things get worse when Carter lets slip he killed her husband. When Marek attempts to abduct Julie's son Lukas, Carter convinces her to help him find her other son Pavel, prime suspect for Cezar's shooting, before CO19 do.

As Carter, Dasari and Banks are trying to catch a drug dealer his accomplice injures a young woman as he tries to escape. The team are determined to find out his identity.

Sally and Ben investigate a theft at a local social club. Magician Drake Danvers' gambling problems make him a prime suspect. When his girfriend is attacked, Drake admits that he is being blackmailed by somebody.

Some drugs are found at a local boxing club following an attempted suicide. The police have a hard time getting the truth out of anyone at the club. Beth and Terry finally come to some some of understanding. Beth finally receives the letter from Witness Protection she has been waiting for but it would mean leaving Sun Hill for good.

Beth and Nate discover a woman lying unconscious at the bottom of her stairs after they are called out to a domestic incident. It is revealed she is married to the owner of the boxing club, Charlie. Charlie insists that his wife just fell. Later their daughter is arrested for stealing money from her father's shop. Beth kisses Nate goodbye.

Art Minshull is found unconscious injured in a layby. Smithy thinks the lorry he was driving has been hijacked for the cigarettes it was carrying. CTV footage shows Art and woman and a child getting into the back of the lorry though. Art will not tell the police the identity of the people who seem to have been smuggled into the country but does admit he was attacked.

After Callum and Leon investigate a burglary they are called to say the missing goods have been returned. Connor Deegan admits his guilt and when his flat is searched by the police his sister is discovered beaten up there. It is she revealed that she is the the real thief and commited the crime to help pay for her drug habit. Connor agrees to help the police catch local drug dealer Darren Bailey.

Sally and Millie attend a domestic disturbance at a house. Larry is throwing his girlfriend out who is a former drug addict as he believes she is using drugs again. When Larry's daughter later disappears he believes that his ex girlfriend is involved.

Sgt Stone, called to the scene of a reported theft, realises that the suspect is the victim of domestic violence. She alerts Stone to a meeting between her husband and his criminal associates, so TDC Fletcher and DS Carter mount a surveillance operation.

Nate Roberts is assigned as the Safer Schools Officer at Deansgate School after investigating a case of arson there. When he and Smithy investigate a fight in a local park, Smithy ends up being stabbed. Nate is determined to catch the guilty culprit as Smithy recovers in hospital.

Nate has to investigate drugs being taken at Deansgate School after a pupil is taken to hospital after taking ecstasy. Everything is not as it seems though as he investigates the case.

When Rhys Tanner's home is broken into Nate investigates. Nate discovers that two school pupils could be involved and investigates further.

Nate has to break up a fight between two parents at the school. Nate later finds out that one of them has become slandered in a rape case. After he is beaten up CID investigate and are shocked to discover the identity of the real culprit.

Nate and Mel investigate a burglary in a class at the school which leads on to a whole another case.

School pupil Kim Patterson gives Nate some surprising information. Nate discovers that her father was involved in the theft of Becky's computer. Becky tells Nate the reasons why she split up with Kim's father but is everything as straight forward as it seems.

Former Sun Hill PC Diane Noble, now a Sergeant, joins Sun Hill for a night before joining her new post at Barton Street. She and Smithy lead the troops to a rooftop party at a building site, but events take a sinister twist when a boy falls from a ledge whilst high on ecstasy. Tests at hospital reveal they were mis-labelled as ketamine. Backed by Turner and Fletcher, uniform go undercover at a club to snare the dealer, with Taylor keen to impress Noble after getting off on the wrong foot. As Noble prepares to bow out of Sun Hill for one last time, she is called back to St. Hugh's when the overdose victim's father stands on the roof in a bid to commit suicide.

Leon and Roger find Tommy Mackenzie and his wounded father when thay attend a call out.A friend of Tommy's mother fits the description that has been given but their ends up being more to the case than first seems.

Gayle, Armstrong and Smith attend an armed robbery at a toy shop, with the manager shot during the raid, but a pursuit fails to prevent an escape. Carter takes charge of the investigation, and CCTV footage appears to show two known thieves casing the shop the day before. Carter suspects that a woman seen arguing with an employee moments before the robbery was acting as a decoy, but while Brown is convinced of her innocence, the rogue DS is only interested in undermining her opinion.

Brown and the sister of a suspect in an armed robbery investigation are taken captive by armed drug addicts. Carter, convinced he knows who is behind both the robbery and the kidnapping, mounts an observation with Armstrong and Gayle, but their operation is compromised when the kidnap victim's ex-husband arrives at the scene to confront their prime suspect. When Carter discovers his prime suspect is not responsible, he enlists his help to identify two of his employees, the men suspected of the abduction. Fletcher is intrigued to discover the toy shop manager was victim of another armed robbery a few years earlier; is he foolish enough to try it again or is it pure coincidence?

Sun Hill officers investigate an armed robbery at a jewellers and are shocked to discover the true identity of the criminal.

Grace becomes concerned when Stevie completely loses her temper with Barry when questioning him.

Schoolgirl Lily Walmsley goes missing and CCTV footage shows her getting into a car with a man. Rebecca her friend tells the police that she has not been happy recently and that Lily had bruises on her body. The car she is seen getting into ends up just being a mini cab driver. Lily calls her mother in serious trouble and the team try to find her before it is too late.

A restaurant is put under surveillance as it hardly has any customers but its owner Maloud Senac has been putting large deposits into his bank account. An informant tells Stevie that Senac is going to import thirty kilos of cocaine into Britain. When a sting is set up, things don't go to plan. Senac's daughter Salma is kidnapped and when Samantha finds out she wonders why he not told the police.

When Daniel Pfeiffer is questioned he ends up admitting that he and Salma Senac are in a relationship. He insists that is was his brother Gary who was involved in the drug deal with Senac. After Kenny regains consciousness he informs Terry that it was Gary who shot him but it was Daniel who goaded him into doing it. Samantha announces that she has resigned and that today is her last day.

Petal Ford is knocked out just outside a known drugs den. When Leon attends the crime scene a man trying to help her runs off. After Mickey questions her he is not convinced she is telling the truth. The man who was helping her is identified as Ben Meadows, Jack's son, who has just been released from jail. Ben does not want Mickey telling his father after he admits that he is Petal's boyfriend.

Jack thinks that his son has lied to him following the failed drugs bust. After talking to Sennett in hospital though he finds out that Ben actually tried to help the police. Petal calls the police when Linton Barry tries to break her door down. When Jack shows up he finds out that his son is OK but Petal has been taken hostage.

After Smithy tries to break up a fight outside a bar he discovers Andy Brennan has badly beaten up. Sergeant Stone investigates a break in at Oliver Robinson's home where a valuable watch has been stolen. The missing watch is found on Andy who turns out to be Oliver's brother. Everyone seems to be scared of bar owner Jason Devlin.

The team discover just how many enemies Jason had following the fire at the bar. It is revealed that Jason and his father are slum landlords, forgers and drug dealers and that Jason's girlfriend has been seeing somebody else. Jason's father gives his son an alibi after Ali is beaten up. Smithy is determined to see them locked up.

Smithy and Ben come across a lorry shipping Afghan immigrants whilst they are out on patrol. DC Stevie Smith finds out that the translator at the station asked a young girl to lie whilst she is being questioned. Stevie finds out that Jason Devlin is involved in what is going on. There is trouble on the Westgate Estate when a riot breaks out.

Stevie and Jason are in hospital following the riot. Smithy feels bad about attacking Jason and Stone advises him to say nothing about what he has done. Khaled who is going out with Ara is questioned and he admits he is involved in the human trafficking. He informs them that Jason's father is the mastermind behind the operation and the team realise they will have a difficult time finding proo

Callum and Smithy end up in a fight when they attend a training session. Allegations are made against Smithy by Jason Devlin who claims he set him up. Rachel learns from Heaton that he is leaving to set up a specialist unit targeting human trafficking and he asks her to join him on the new team.

Ara Byat calls to say that her niece has disappeared on the morning of the court case. It looks like the Devlin family have kidnapped her to stop Khaled Hasiq from testifying. Smithy takes the stand and has to decide whether to be honest with his answers. Stuart and Kezia decide to leave Sun Hill and join Heaton at the specialist trafficking unit. Jack becomes the station's new superintendent and Smithy is promoted to inspector.

Danny Sissoulu ia discovered by Callum and Ben badly beaten unconscious and his brother Kip and friend Mo covered in blood. When Callum confronts Ollie Readshaw who is acting suspiciously he runs into the road and is struck and killed by a lorry. Neil talks to Ollie's mother and he thinks she is hiding something.

When Danny Sissoulu dies the team now have to deal with a murder enquiry. After Craig Middleton becomes the number one suspect he is brought in for questioning. He insists that he was confronted by the three youths in the park and that they where carrying a knife and continues that he only punched Danny. The officers are stunned by what Mo tells them after she cracks under the pressure.

Macey, Mickey and Banksy question a girl about an alleged rape and find out that the attack actually took place two years. The team watch a video tape and her step father is disgusted when he finds out that he is accused of the crime. Caitlin later calls Mickey and tells him that she remembers who really attacked her with devastating consequences for two families.

Joel Fuller is arrested after attacking a man in a pub. After his wife is questioned she admits that Joel has just found out that she is having an affair with her boss, Dave. When Joel makes his way to Dave's house armed with a gun CO19 troops are brought in to help deal with the situation.

After a child is found abandoned in a market, all he will say is that somebody called Clara is dead. After his mother is traced it turns out that Clara is his nanny. Clara is discovers at a local construction site beaten and unconscious. Jared Miles becomes the number one suspect after he was seen running through the market. Neil is worried though that they could be after the wrong man.

Neil be lives that somebody has a vendetta against Julia Bickham. After Jared Miles innocence is proved, he identifies a man he saw with Thomas Sands called Stephen Fairfax. Neil learns that Julia gave evidence at an inquest about a suicide which meant that Fairfax lost an insurance claim and the custody of his child. After Fairfax kidnaps Julia, Neil manages to locate them at deserted warehouse where he comes face to face with an armed Fairfax.

An emergency call is made informing the police that a newsagent called O'Halloran has been murdered. Banksy discovers that the call came from Joseph Sissoulu's mobile. Finger prints at the scene are revealed to belong to Mo Campbell, who is a friend of the dead man's son. Mo admits to killing the man but is he telling the truth.

Neil and Max investigate after Ashley Simmons is found shot dead. After her mother's boyfriend's car was seen near the scene of the crime he becomes the prime suspect. The forensics team prove though that she was killed at her mother's house.

Paul Brewer is questioned by Carter and Masters after indecent images of a young girl are found on his computer following a raid. Paul names paedophile George Fielding as being responsible as he lent him his computer. Banks is suspicious after Fielding agrees with Paul's version of events.

When Jo and Max raid the house of Jimmy Mack they fail to find his drugs consignment or his girlfriend, Rochelle who has gone missing. Sally and Roger go to the house of former prostitute Fran Morris, where her young son Noah has passed out. Rochelle is discovered in Fran's flat, tied up and badly beaten. Rochelle is too scared to the police what has happened. Fran names Jimmy's solicitor Damian Tucker as the man the police are after when she sees him at the police station.

Fran Morris is assaulted and her 12-year-old Noah goes missing. The primary focus is to first find Noah when his t-shirt is found with blood on it. When he is found, he bonds well with Carter, and a groundbreaking lead is uncovered. Carter tries to get a drug dealer to sell out Damian Tucker despite the fact that he is in jail. A bombshell discovery by forensics leads Carter to discover the case is not as clear cut as it seems.

Mel meets a youth called David Jarvis who claims he has been imprisoned and abused five years by a man called Gareth. David's sister is unable to verify who he says he is. When Gareth is arrested he claims he has been paying David to have sex with him. David's story starts to fall apart and the police try yo find out what happened to the real David.

After an 8 year old boy is reported as missing, his mother tells the police that she and her husband are going through a bad divorce. Phil isn't happy when he is questioned like he is a suspect in his son's disappearance. CCTV footage shows the boy getting into a car with a man named Nick McCann. The team discover that the boy has spoken to his mother's new partner, Danny on Nick's phone. Terry and Stevie try to get the truth out of Danny before it is too late.

The police discover that Mark Wilson is making Ria, who is dating his brother, bring a phone into prison for him. The police want to bug the phone. Ria is attacked at the prison by her boyfriend, Shaun. On the bug the police learn that Shaun has ordered a hit on Ria.

Leon and Nate are asked for help from Lily Wright after her car is stolen with her baby daughter Chelsea inside. Inspector Smith has to break the news to Lily and to Chelsea's father Gavin after the car is found empty. The chief suspect is found badly beaten up with no sign of the missing baby anywhere. After Leon and Nate manage to find the missing child covered in bruises the chief suspect insists that he had nothing to do with what happened to her.

Smithy leads a raid on a housing estate which has a lot criminal activity. The main objective of the raid is to get drugs dealer Dave Clayton but when he is caught he has no drugs on him. Only local resident Angie is prepared to stand up and talk about about what is going on and later her daughter is stabbed on the estate. Tony considers moving on from Sun Hill.

A shocked Leon finds Lily's 18-month-old baby Chelsea unconscious after he responds to a call. Leon thinks that Lily is lying when she says the baby fell out of her high chair and thinks her partner could be responsible. Gavin ends up having an alibi and it looks like Lily could be responsible when tests prove the injuries to the child where not an accident. Tony remembers his time at Sun Hill as he prepares to leave forever.

Guest starring Ian Kelsey as Brendan Newlyn. DC Grace Dasari re-opens the investigation into an old missing person case when the sister of the woman involved holds a man at knife-point in a Soho brothel, claiming he knows where her sister is. When a body is found, Grace feels guilty that she did not devote more time to the investigation at the time of the woman's disappearance.

Banks and Webb look into the disappearance of teenager Saskia, whose father Eamonn is about to be released from jail. They soon learn that Saskia was seeing the son of man her father killed. The team try to find Saskia before her boyfriend hurts her.

When a tramp is found dead in a local river, Mickey goes undercover as a homeless man.

Mickey is rescued from a beating by Nicola McKenzie, a homeless girl after he spends a night on the streets. Max and Banksy find out more about Greg and discover that he is Greg Simm, a fraudster who has been scaring the homeless. Greg is a suspect after an elderly man is found dead but the evidence begins to point in Nicola's direction. Mickey learns that he has to bring Nicola in for questioning which leaves him conflicted.

Gayle and Fletcher catch a joy rider in a stolen car and discover the car was used in a hit and run earlier on during the day. DC Stevie Moss investigates the case after it is discovered the car belongs to a footballer.

Armstrong and Stone investigate after a young woman is assaulted in a local park. When they talk to her they find out she has been receiving prank telephone calls for several weeks. Kezia Walker sees similarities in the case with one she worked on previously.

The team worry that a copycat style child killer is on the loose after an eleven year old boy is snatched.

Heaton is forced to hold a press conference as the media interest increases about Linda Johnson's involvement in the abduction case.

Smithy come to the aid of a man who has been attacked with a knife and he gets a description of the man who did it from a young girl he has been helping. The man is beaten up by her boyfriend and she tells Smithy that she is afraid of him.

Carly dies in hospital after been shot and Smithy feels bad. Maurice Thompson gives the police some information about the shooting but they discover he has been lying. Alisha who was Carly's best friend tells Smithy that Marlon Reed is after her boyfriend. Marlon is found pointing a gun at the head of Tito Morientes.

After a local health centre is broken in to Diane and Nate find Dr Adam Tyler badly beaten inside. CCTV footage shows Brendan Connor a local drug addict taking stuff from the drugs cabinet. Brendon admits to taking the drugs when questioned but is adamant he didn't beat the doctor up. The team then find out that the beating is linked to some illegal activities one of his colleges has been doing. Carly's mother tries to take her own life.

The day of Carly Samuels' funeral unfolds in chaos as Tito Morientes is arrested after firing a gun during a brawl at the procession. A dramatic revelation leads to an unlikely suspect, while a crucial witness comes forward naming Tito as one of the gunmen. Elsewhere, a series of robberies occur during the funeral, including Carly's. In addition to the hunt for the suspect, the Sun Hill team are left to contend with a group of vigilantes tracking the burglar. Manson takes leave to visit his son in Spain.

Meadows launches the raid on Dwayne Fox's home, and Nixon coordinates one at Tito Morientes'. Tito is arrested, but Dwayne isn't home. Dwayne's mother Beverley breaks his alibi, but his boss kidnaps baby Brooke to increase the pressure on the team. Alisha Danniels’ phone signal puts her at the scene of the murder, and she gives another statement that reveals there was a third man in the car, turning the case on its head.

Alisha Danniels is left fighting for her life when she is hit by a speeding car after being taken home from the station. A chase ensues, but the car escapes down railway lines before being found on fire. With the fire quickly extinguished, there is hope for the investigators. The car leads to two investigations as Roberts and Keane try to track down a teenager who fooled the owner in order to car-jack him. When the boy's older brother leaves mid-interview, Alisha identifies him as the driver of the drive-by car. Refusing to give a statement, Dasari and Smithy discover Alisha's dad Oscar knows where he is. As part of the forensic check of the car, bullets are found in a hidden compartment of the boot, so Carter tracks the owner in order to bust him selling them on.

When the trial for Carly Samuels' murder kicks off, Dasari is surprised to find out that the defence barrister is her ex-boyfriend, Sunil Davdra. Key witness Joel Pearce folds after being threatened inside prison, causing Smithy to beg of Alisha Danniels to change her mind and come forward. Elsewhere, Masters and Moss investigate an assault on a pregnant woman, discovering it was ordered by her street thug boyfriend Raheem Woods. After smashing his face against a cell wall, Woods accuses Roberts of assault and is released. The cases cross paths when Raheem riles up the estate as Smithy, Alisha and Oscar leave for court, with all three left in danger.

Stamp and Keane race into action after finding Smithy's IRV on its side following the assault by another vehicle. Back on the estate, a full blown riot breaks out, orchestrated by Raheem Woods and other members of the Creekside Boys. Roberts finds himself attacked and abducted by the street thugs, leading to a daring rescue to shut the riot down. Late evidence changes the entire context of the case, but with the trial falling apart, can they secure justice for Carly in time?

Callum and Tony find themselves the victims of a prank calls. Will receives a call from two boys saying their father has kidnapped them.

Sally and Ben are surprised when they find a young boy behind the wheel of a stolen car belonging to a local villain. A briefcase in the car opens up a whole new mystery.

Will and Sally help a homeless man who has been hit on the head by a bag of cocaine. Ben discovers that Liam Harvey dumped the drugs and ends up in a fight with his father.

Sally and Will talk to a female drive who claims she hit somebody in her car who then ran off. Their search leads them to Adam who has been shot. Stevie and Max find out that Adam was the target of a hit man at a hostel that he was staying at.

Callum, Sally and Tony investigate the case of a woman last seen leaving a night club.

Green and Valentine find a body on the banks of the Thames. The victim, Michael Drummond, is a disgraced doctor under investigation by the General Medical Council. He appears to be involved in a death on duty, and is under fire from friends and family of the victim. One of the suspects, Dave Batchelor, reveals he lost his girlfriend at a party Drummond was at in the 90s. Green tries to get through to Dave, with no avail. Events escalate when a friend of Drummond's is found, with Dave holding a needle to his neck.

Green and Keane come on shift with hangovers. Their day starts badly when they turn up late to a briefing with the Super, covering uniform for investigations while CID work a fraud case. It only gets worse when Heaton volunteers to join the duo on patrol. Gold and Wright go to Canley Market, mainly so Gold can keep an eye on Heaton! Roberts and Valentine find an abandoned electronics van, and find the driver tied up in the back. Heaton freaks out a female drug dealer when he arrests her, due to a history of abuse. Green, Keane and Heaton find a young boy working his mother's stall, and two robots stolen from the van are found. The drug dealer, Rachel Compton, has her flat turned over, and her brother Matty is found assaulted, surrounded by several damaged robots. Green and Heaton find heroin in the back of one of the two they seized.

Sally, Callum, Will and Ben find themselves trying to stop a fight at a night club. Andrew is working under cover at the club and Sally finds herself put on the spot.

Smithy is called out to help a pensioner who has been mugged. It looks like a neighbour might not be telling as much as she knows.

Beth goes undercover in the hope of busting a drug dealer.

Roger and Emma investigate after a 13 year old girl called Jenny attempts to kill herself. Jenny says that a man named Craig drugged her and then raped her. Phil discovers the man's real name after seeing CCTV footage where he is seen talking to a friend of Jenny's.

CID and CEOPs go all out to stop the live feed abuse of an 8-year-old boy. With Det. Supt. Faraday working with Heaton and CID at Sun Hill, Dasari and DI Ashley look through the image of the victim for information of his whereabouts. Noble becomes FLO to the mother, when the boy's drug addict brother is revealed to have given a photo to the paedophile network. With the case hitting close to home, Noble requests a leave of absence to spend time with her son.

Ben and Tony find a distressed young girl whilst looking around a derelict building. The body of another missing girl is also found there. Stuart is stabbed with a syringe when he attempts to talk to a suspect in the murder case.

When arrested Danny Peters claims that the syringe contained the HIV virus. Stuart is upset when Jack agrees to say a good word for Peters in court in exchange for helping to bust a major drugs smuggling gang.

Smithy and Will find a former east end gangster seriously injured. His illegitimate son and grandson Jacko are involved in drug dealing. Jacko's body is later found in a pool of blood.

The list of suspects for Jacko Jackson's murder is long; grandfather Johnnie, who went missing, is found at the grave of his son Ray covered in blood, however he is quickly released after his arrest. Jacko's uncle Roger is prime suspect, but he was in custody. His girlfriend, Anya Herdlitska, is arrested due to the fact that Jacko surrendered her to immigration. Then Andreas Audra, is arrested, but he was out of the country. Marty Baxter, who assaulted Johnnie the day before, is a major suspect, but why kill his best friend? With so many suspects to comb through, the Sun Hill team are left to ponder who could be responsible.

Jack goes undercover working as an antiques dealer to try and make an arrest. Jack faces an harrowing time when he is questioned about antiques by the man he hopes to arrest at gun point.

Emma and Sally attend the home of a family who claim there has been a break in. Tony and Sally discover one of the robbers in a bad way. The father of the house Tim is arrested for attempted murder when it is revealed that he hasn't been completely truthful.

Private detective Harry Burroughs is found murdered and the investigation in to his death is launched.

Sally works undercover at a city trading house after Geraldine Lawson goes missing. On a night out she invites Emma along who forms a bond with one of the suspects involved in Geraldine's disappearance.

Two explosions happen whilst Emma and Sally are out on patrol. With many casualties Callum takes control of the situation. Emma learns from Jack about another possible bomb and as she tries to evacuate a building it goes off.

Callum is determined to catch the bomber but the team receive a message saying another bomb will be achivated in 3 hours. The bomb is traced to a mother taking her children to school. Mickey manges to get her to safety,but when Callum goes back to the car to save her baby the bomb goes off.

The team investigate when a young boy called Alfie is badly beaten and his mother's house broken into. They learn that her estranged husband Carl owes money to a loan shark. Jo and Stevie soon find out that Carl is a drug dealer and after breaking into the pl;ace he is staying at they find his body. Nikki works out that Alfie is not saying everything that he knows.

Whilst stuck in a traffic jam Max and Terry hear a woman scream out who is dragged out from her car and murdered. The men responsible get away. It soon becomes clear that the incident is to do with car jacking.

Alan Marlowe is discovered by Beth and Sally badly beaten up. The team uncover some interesting facts when they launch an investigation.

The team investigate an apparent suicide who turns out to be Lucy Burton. It is soon discovered that she was murdered though and most of the evidence links the murderer as her boyfriend.

Three new recruits start at Sun Hill. After a hardware store is robbed a cutting devise stolen is used in a bank robbery. When the team discover who is behind the crime they are pretty shocked.

Brown and Ghir find a body in a landfill. Manson leads the investigation into the death. It appears the victim, Adele Jones, had a sordid love history. With a boyfriend, an ex and even her brother implicated, CID find themselves with too many suspects to get a clear picture. Adele had an argument with another man before her death, and he is suspect number one. He is cleared, meaning there may be a different motive for the killing all together.

A young boy called Emile Grover is found with a loaded gun and brought into the statiopn for questioning . Emile says he was asked to look after it by Andre Tyrell. PC Mel Ryder is teamed up with Smithy on her first day. Emile's life ends up in danger after he goes missing.

Becka Davis is found upset and she later tells Mel she was assaulted in her own home. Jeremy Williams is questioned about the assault and it is discovered that somebody has been pretending to be her on the Internet. Smithy works undercover to expose a gun running outfit.

A box of fireworks goes of in front of Beth and Will's police car. Jason Patterson is caught having committed the crime. They learn that the boy's step father is at a football game with the rest of the fireworks.

Smithy continues to work undercover and finds himself getting in deeper with Darren Cutler, Kieran Wallace, and Tommy Rose. Darren soon works out that he might have been crossed though.

Smithy continues to work undercover. He meets with Bob Gatting who is the leader of the SE1 gang. Kieran Wallace is beaten up by Gatting's thugs. Stevie poses as Smithy's girlfriend. During a confrontation Smithy is forced to reveal his true identity.

Jack takes some time of and plays a game of poker with some old friends. When one of his friend's grandson is knocked down out side of his flat Jack believes that he was the intended target. He soon discovers that his friends have been keeping secrets from him though.

Webb and Banksy investigate a suspicious house fire, and Webb is surprised when he discovers the homeowner is an old informant of his. The prime suspect is the victim's landlord, who worked with the victim in the past. Events take a bizarre twist when, during forensic searches, Olosunje finds human remains in the basement. The victim is identified as a contractor who went missing in the 1970s. The big question is; who did it? Webb is drawn to the landlord's solicitor Naomi Woods, but he is left embarrassed when Banksy reveals she is his wife.

Sally and Ben attend the scene of a hit and run. The investigation becomes more complex as it continues.

Teacher Phil Talbot is found unconscious in his home. Sally learns that he had been having problems with a couple of female students that he had suspended for bullying. The team are shocked when they discover that he had been having an affair with the bullied girl.

Leslie Downey is hurt when a scaffolding pole goes through the window of his car and Nikki and Will show up at the scene. When it is discovered that it it is not an accident Nikki and Will attempt to find out who is responsible.

Mel and Nate discover a woman unconscious at the wheel of her car. Rachel and Mickey find themselves investigating a break-in at a jewellers but not everything is as it seems.

Paula Merrick is discovered unconscious in an alleyway. After she is taken to the hospital she informs Samantha and Banksy that she had been out last night and had been flirting with a male stripper called Tom Norris and then later had gone home with him.

The body of Vikki Miller in the boot of the car after Millie and Nate chase a joy rider but the driver escapes capture. Suspect Tom Norris is charged with her rape and murder and also the rape of Paula Merrick.

Max works undercover as a dock yard worker and he keeps both Pete Monks and Tom Harris under surveillance. When he is about to have them arrested for stealing DVD players, Intelligence Officer Karen Lacy arrives and lets the team now that Pete Monks and his family are already involved in an investigation involving drugs.

As Pete Monks stews in custody, and Tom Harris lies in St. Hugh's, Lacy, Meadows and Carter weigh up their options. Carter suggests alienating Dave from his children. Anthony, who appeared to be Tom's boyfriend, was likely to know that his father ordered the beating on Harris. As expected, he tells his father he loves Tom and tells him he can do the deal alone. Chloe calls Dave, explaining Pete bottled it and Asif is alive, before telling him she is carrying Asif's child and is moving away from London. Dave confronts Pete, and tells him he is finished with him. With just Carter left to trust, Dave decides to go get the coke once Carter hints at the wire he planted in Dave's office. As Carter and Dave go for the coke, Green calls Meadows to say an angry Pete is looking for Carter, and he's armed with a handgun.

Callum and Leon investigate the case of a stolen dog. The team learn that a woman has entered a tower block that is about to be demolished to retrieve her diary.

Sally is involved in a serious car crash. Ben attempts to save her career and gives the ambulance men a false name for her. Smithy and Tony become suspicious though when they learn about the crash.

Rachel and Roger answer a call and find Gavin Henshaw beaten up when they arrive. Grace and Kezia question Jay Newman and learn that he was at Gavin's house at the time the attack happened. Jay tells them that Les Cooper attacked Gavin. Later there is another attack and Jay's body is discovered.

Ediie believes that Jay Newman could of been pushed. Les Cooper is arrested when he is caught trying to change the way he looks. Les has an albi that checks out when he is questioned. The team find out that Jay had a large stash of heroin and that Marcus Kendall was looking for him.

When Millie and Arun are called out to a mugging they are shocked to see the victim is Naomi Woods who is married to DC Jacob Banks. Bobby Henshaw is the prime suspect after the team learn that Naomi defended a driver in court who killed his brother. When Jacob returns home he finds Henshaw holding a knife to his wife's throat.

After Bobby Henshaw is beaten up he is taken to the hospital, he claims that Alistair Finch paid for the attack to happen. The team find out that that Bobby's mother Judy was having an affair with Alistair and that Michael found out about it. Judy now believes that Michael's death was not an accident.

The trial for Tom Norris starts, with the charges rape and murder, and Banksy's wife, Naomi Woods, is named as defence counsel. Fallon Thomas runs from Brown and Green when they go to pick her up, to bring her to court. Paula Merrick suffers a dose of nerves and is found out of her face on vodka, but Ryder cleans her up and brings her to court. She is torn apart on the stand, and is then found in the bathroom talking to fellow witness Sophie Oduya. Naomi witnesses the incident, and the judge throws it out for police orchestration of collusion between witnesses. Nixon issues a warning to Norris about witness intimidation, but a call comes in about an assault in the same alleyway where Paula Merrick was found, leaving Nixon horrified that Norris has restarted his crimes.

Nixon goes all out to find Tom Norris for the rape after he was bailed. Banksy goes to Naomi for advice, and does some digging. When he returns to CID, a furious Nixon tells him he needs to consider his future at Sun Hill. Nixon storms off, and Banksy confronts her in the bathroom, claiming Nixon's personal opinion of Naomi is compromising her role in the case. With Banksy's findings, the two work out that Dan Cox is also involved, and may be the only culprit. Norris goes missing, and Cox is hunted down to see if they can get a location on Norris.

When a shoplifter is caught he is found to have forged banknotes with him and bruises on his body. Charlie tells the team that he stole the forged money from his aunt. The aunt is secretly followed in the hope that the whole counterfeiting operation will be exposed.

Rachel and Millie find themselves being called to attend an incident at a bank where Sandra Marks has attacked a security guard. After smelling petrol and seeing a burn on her arm they go to her house where they discover her family tied up. Callum manages to link the case to some other crimes.

Callum and Smithy are called to an incodent wherre somebody has been stabbed. Things take a bad turn for Smithy though

Gina is concerned about Smith's safety after a gun shot is heard. Heaton shows up to take control of the case. Callum issues a deadly threat. Gina prepares to leave Sun Hill for the last time.

A raid on a drugs den takes place. Leon and Rachel find a young frightened girl hiding there. Her tells them that her father only lets her see the girl if she delivers drugs for him. Rachel offers the woman a deal but she has ideas of her own.

Clinton Andrews passes out on the front of Rachel and Leon's patrol car. After trying to help hi they discover that he has been stabbed. Marcus and Danny Stepney become suspects after inquiries have been made. When Leo attends a break in it ends up being the house of the two brother's mother and she does not want to press charges.

When a girl goes missing Roger investigates the case. He becomes suspicious when her father doesn't have a water tight alibi. Grace and Mickey question her school friends to try and uncover some clues. Before long the team uncover a sinister new twist to the case.

The team work out that one of Bethany Riley's school friends was involved in her murder. After being asked many questions the boy finally reveals what happened.

Will starts on his first case as a trainee CID. Will finds himself having to go undercover.

Arun and Millie come across a younger couple being attacked by a gang whilst they are out on patrol. Arun is determined to catch the gang members but ends up walking into a trap.

Whilst investigating the disappearance of a school girl Leon Taylor is forced to face up to his past.

Nate and Mel attend a stabbing on a bus and are shocked by what they see. A passenger called Holly tries to help the victim and Nate learns that she is Terry Perkin's daughter. Terry isn't happy when Nate starts to get on with his daughter. When the stabbed person dies the case turns into a murder investigation.

Nate and Tony are shocked when they see a woman being thrown out of a car along with 6 bags of cocaine. The girl tells them she has been purchasing drugs from the owner of a cab firm and that she was beaten up and thrown out if the car because she couldn't pay. When Terry works undercover at the cab firm he finds himself delivering a letter bomb.

Whilst Terry Perkins is working undercover as a taxis driver he is shocked when an armed passenger kidnaps a German girl and gets into the back of his car. When the team at Sun Hill find out what is going on they learn that they will have to work with their German counterparts.

Terry Perkins travels to Germany still working under cover. Viktor believes that there is a traitor who has been telling the police how to get Charlotte back. Terry remains silent but is shocked when Viktor kills one of his men. Terry hopes that the team at Sun Hill will find out where he and Charlotte are and rescue them.

Layla Dwyer is the victim of a hit and run driver and Nate tries to calm her brother, Noel. When the driver of the car is caught and questioned it is revelaed that Noel has been selling stolen cars to help his father get by. The investigation opens the flood gates to a whole bigger crime going on.

Masters is on scene when a pub landlord discovers the body of a prostitute, Kelly Porterfield. Her ex-boyfriend Andy Donnelly is a suspect for Kelly's fatal overdose. His girlfriend, Jen Kilshaw, is obviously underage, so Masters focuses on getting her away from Andy. Masters promises Kelly's mum that she will bring down who is responsible. Walker, Heaton and Masters look at two overdoses, including Kelly's, and a chain of locations where the girls came from and ended up, and fear that a sex trade operation is spreading across the UK, and Andy appears to not be the main suspect in Kelly's murder or the smuggling operation.

Masters continues her investigation into a people smuggling operation and the murder of Kelly Porterfield. Jake Clegg is the prime suspect in both, and appears to be working with Scotsman Logan Hunter, working in Glasgow. Masters accuses Clegg of murder, and he makes a formal complaint, for which she is reprimanded. Jen goes missing from her residential unit, and Masters fears she is heading for a swap with Hunter. Donnelly is assaulted by Clegg, and his car, fitted with a tracker, is abandoned. Can Masters get to Jen on time?

When several houses are burgled, it appears that a criminal family working out of a grotto are getting people to give their address, so they can be burgled whilst shopping. Santa, Peter Garrett, is prime suspect, and has previous form for burglary, and his daughter Lisa is caught red handed when Turner uses his flat for a sting. Lisa says she did it to pay off some debt her father had with loan shark David Crossley, before he went to prison. Crossley is caught red-handed by Moss and Turner with a fake passport, and agrees to set up 'Robert', who is fleeing the country, to get time off his sentence. Moss tells Turner to pull the op when she identifies the target, drug dealer Robert Towler, who she was undercover with at S010 in 2005.

The evidence against Stevie begins to grow. Neil and Jack find themselves with some difficult questions to ask. Stuart even begins to wonder of Stevie has given up on career to follow her heart.

When Stevie finds out that the drug deal was a set up she goes on the run with Rob. The gang after them seem to know their every move though. Rutherford seems to know more about what is going on then he is saying.

Mel's brother and his girlfriend come to stay for the New Year. She thinks that they are going to see the new year in Trafalgar Square as she heads off to work. When the team are called out to an incident at a club she finds out they changed their plans.

New Year's Eve. Ryder’s first New Year's shift starts late when she has to help her brother Jordan, visiting from Leeds. Attending a stabbing at a nightclub, Jordan is found covered in blood, and his girlfriend Kelly is found having been attacked in the bathroom. The victim goes into cardiac arrest at midnight, but survives, and Valentine grows close to the mother. Ryder fears Jordan is protecting Kelly, as she had his knife, but they are both ruled out, leaving CID scratching their heads looking for suspects.

After having been seen arguing with her boyfriend in an alleyway a young woman is found badly beaten up. When the team look into the case they find her personal life very complex and it complicates the investigation.

PCs Valentine and Casper arrest a man for being drunk-in-charge. DI Manson and Sgt Doug Wright mount a frantic search for a missing eleven-year-old boy. Sgt Ackland and PC Fletcher attend to an incident of vandalism at Harvey Wallace comprehensive. Ackland's boyfriend is knocked down in a hit-and-run incident.

CID begin the investigation into the arson attack on the home of lottery winning family the Hendersons. Manson discovers that the fire started in identical fashion to two previous fires investigated by Nixon and Turner, at a foster home and a B&B. Warren Pritchard, the man jailed for the previous two fires, is re-arrested after the team discovers he was bailed at trial. Further digging clears him, not only from the Henderson fire, but the previous two, leaving CID back at square one. In uniform, Smithy leads the troops on a search for the car involved in Rod Jessop's hit and run, and it's not long before CCTV footage puts truant Kyle Henderson in the frame for the attack. However, with his brother watching his every move, Stamp and Hollis try to trip up a friend of Kyle's into exposing the truant's involvement. Meanwhile, Meadows and Heaton interview candidates for the new DI post, but Meadows tries to persuade Nixon to apply.

Nixon and Turner's quest to discover the identity of the serial arsonist takes an interesting turn when they discover that Jay Henderson's ex-girlfriend, Cheryl Wilkes, who claims to be pregnant with his baby, has links to all three of the locations where fires took place – the first being her childhood home, and the second being a foster home where she was placed while she was in care. Elsewhere, Smith and Walker investigate after a seemingly minor spat between a market trader and a customer leads to an assault on the customer's heavily pregnant wife, but would the market trader go so far to attack her in retaliation? Smithy asks Walker if she wants to move in after struggling to find a place to live, while Nixon tells Turner and Hunter she'll be the new DI.

Gold and Valentine find a parole officer assaulted and locked in the boot of his car, but the victim may just be a suspect in another crime when his assailant claims he raped his incarcerated wife. Nixon and Masters discover he has been offering sex in exchange for parole, but their investigation takes a dark turn when one of the prisoners attempts suicide. Meanwhile, Hardy witnesses a mugging on his way into work, but discovers that the alleged victim may be heading up a scam exchanging cash for passing marks on the British Citizenship test. After getting injured twice, Hardy takes a shine to St. Hugh’s nurse Tash Niles, who later suggests he moves in with her after the departure of his grandmother to Jamaica.

Panic and speculation swirls around Sun Hill as Heaton reveals the station may be about to close. Hobbs is left furious at the discovery, but Heaton insist the team needed to know before a press leak; Gold, who was notified ahead of time, suspects the super may know more than he's letting on. The suicide of a young mother leads to a loansharking ring targeting vulnerable mothers, so Harman is sent in undercover as a single mother, accompanied by Wright's young nephew. An arrest leads to a sting to catch the kingpin behind the loansharking, but Webb is furious when the deceased mother's ex wades in and blows the OBBO, leaving Heaton to intervene in an attempt to force a confession. Elsewhere, Valentine helps an old friend when his pub is allegedly raided by a man in a chicken outfit, but Roger is disappointed to discover the culprit may be closer to home.

Nadir gets two shocks on his return from holidays as Haskew decides he doesn't need Nadir onside, while SOCA stun him by revealing they know the Colombian deal is happening a month ahead of the time he told them. Using it to his advantage, he gets back in by relaying the info to Haskew. Nadir suggests giving a dummy location for the drop, but his plan could be compromised when he tells barman Chez Williams that he was undercover when Chez introduced him to Kristen. Furious, Chez refuses to follow Nadir's request - can he persuade him he is bent now when he wasn't before? Elsewhere in Alvarez case, Harman is assigned to a safehouse with drugs mule Eva Garcia, but her relationship hits the rocks when she suggests taking a holiday with a reluctant Fletcher. In CID, Hunter and Turner clash yet again over the suspects in a hammer attack. Turner believes an ex-con is involved, but Hunter believes the woman's son is responsible.

The Alvarez case takes a sinister turn when Eva Garcia's brother turns up at the safehouse. Nadir persists on trying to talk Shaw out of the drug deal, but she refuses. When Garcia's brother is severely beaten whilst confronting Alvarez, the sting looks compromised, with Eva doing a runner from the safehouse after locking Harman in a room. Leaving for her holiday in Tenerife, Harman clashes with Fletcher when he decides not to come, but her journey home throws her right back into work when she finds Eva roaming the streets. Her attempts to lull her back to Sun Hill leads to both women being abducted, and a call from Haskew demanding Nadir at Bar Morocco quickly follows; has he been rumbled? Meanwhile, Perkins investigates a string of robberies involving lone businessmen staying at private hotels, and Hardy finds himself reprimanded by Wright for being heavily hungover at work.

With a gun to Harman and another on him, Nadir is forced to admit he is undercover. As Haskew, Shaw and Nadir dispute on whether or not Nadir is actually bent, Alvarez silences the room by shooting informant Eva Garcia. As Haskew drags Harman and Nadir to the drug deal, Nadir explains all to Harman, leaving her disgusted. With SOCA at the wrong location, the lorry is intercepted with it continuing in the wrong direction, but it is a bust. Nadir proves to Alvarez that the police are going to the wrong place to regain his trust, but he loses Haskew's when he tries to shoot him in attempt to stop Haskew killing Harman. A heart to heart between Nadir and Shaw sees them decide to elope with the cash, but not before CO19 storm the deal and engage in a firefight. As bullets fly and bodies drop, the Sun Hill team are left looking for their own in the casualties.

Nadir awakes from a living nightmare to discover Jose Alvarez is in custody and Paul Haskew was killed in the firefight. He returns home to discover Shaw made it out of the bust in one piece, but both break down over the death of Harman. With Alvarez keeping quiet, Nadir thinks he's in the clear, until he hears a body was found in the water after the raid; has Harman been found? Alvarez hints at what Nadir has done, but the comment about betrayal makes Heaton and Meadows send Nadir into a safehouse. Meanwhile, Keane and Hardy investigate a burglary and discover that the homeowners were gassed with Nitrous Oxide before being ransacked. Their prime suspect is their former nanny, fired for having an affair with the husband, but his constant arguing with his wife impedes Keane and Hardy's attempts to get to the bottom of the case.

Nadir comes back to work in a relieved state after Meadows all but admits defeat in their search for Kristen Shaw. However, he is brought back to earth with a bump when Gold reports Harman missing to Meadows, with her last phone call coming on the day Eva Garcia disappeared. Tracking down Shaw, Nadir and his lover execute a plan to plant a lookalike on Harman's flight to Tenerife, but the Sun Hill team aren't fooled when they find the CCTV. With phone signals pinging at Bonham Wharf, Nadir panics that he is about to be caught and plans to flee. Keane and Hardy find a heavily pregnant female at the bottom of a flight of stairs after an apparent burglary, but it appears her partner may be implicated when it is revealed her stolen watch was originally stolen in another burglary, involving Heaton's estranged wife Rhiannon.

With Harman's body found and Nadir in custody, MIT swoop in to investigate. Meadows tries to think the best of Nadir and allows him to go home and get changed, but lives to regret it when Nadir slips surveillance, just as DNA proves he was at the scene. He heads off to meet Shaw, but begins to change his mind when he discovers Shaw still has the gun that killed Harman. With MIT and CID trying to track down the runaway lovers, Zain is left battling his conscious. Fletcher struggles to cope when Harman's mother asks to see him, finally accepting that he took her for granted. Elsewhere, Keane's emotions over Honey and another fight with Matt sees her lose her cool with a pair of bickering sisters when their father has angina attack, caused by their fight over a missing family heirloom.

Ackland and fiancee Rod Jessop work together when Valentine and Casper find a pupil from Harvey Wallace school, Martin Clarke, with stab wounds. Noble is frustrated when Hollis' stomach ache keeps him indoors looking at CCTV into the theft of bandages. Meanwhile, Gold and Smith attempt to locate a missing prisoner, Jimmy Collins. All three cases collide when it appears that Collins has a link to prime stabbing suspect Tom Ryan, while Hollis spots Collins on CCTV stealing bandages. Ackland stuns Jessop by suggesting early retirement.

Sgt Wright supervises the mass eviction of tenants from the Aldbourne Estate, and finds herself having to manage a public order situation. DC Webb traces the driver who ran Sgt Ackland off the road. She and Insp Gold present Supt Heaton with evidence of DAC Hobbs's involvement in the corrupt property development. DS Jim Carver returns to Sun Hill to discuss a case. The station is to survive the forthcoming reorganisation.

Sgt Ackland assists DS Carver on a drugs stakeout. The officers are at loggerheads over their troubled past, and soon find themselves in over their heads. The relief carries out a search of some wasteland following the discovery of a human skeleton.

Sgt Ackland and DS Carver are held hostage by drug dealers. Carver asks Ackland to take him back. Meanwhile, Sun Hill prepares Ackland's leaving party.

PCs Noble and Fletcher attend the scene of a burglary. DS Hunter and DC Masters investigate the assault of a woman running an adult webcam service. DI Nixon sees the chance to put away a villain from her past. Sgt Smith compromises a key witness to the incident. DC Webb and PCs Hinckley and Valentine are assigned to the clean-up of the Jasmine Allen Estate and uncover drug-dealing and joy-riding.

Sgt Smith attends a minor traffic incident and discovers a body in the boot of a car. DCI Meadows and DC Webb lead the manhunt for the suspect, who is armed and blames Smith for ruining his life.

DS Turner and DC Webb investigate an arson attack and suspicious death. Supt Heaton suspects an acquaintance of the deceased, a dangerous psychopath with a history of extortion, and warns his estranged wife to leave London. PCs Hinckley and Fletcher deal with a violent assault case. PCs Hollis and Stamp have to find the key witness when he flees court.

DS Hunter has just come back from an injury he sustained whilst trying to help DI Nixon. PCs Keen and Green tend a situation where a women was found in the park with her peruse stolen

Neil is badly let down by one of his regular informants when a family jewellers is robbed of half a million pounds' worth of stock and one of the partners is shot in the course of the crime. Phil plays the knight in shining armour for casino owner's wife Monica Dreyfuss when she turns up in custody drunk and unable to pay her restaurant bill. Tony and Will are notified of a kidnapping, and Neil and Jo investigate a link to the high-value robbery from the jewellery store - leading them to suspect it being an inside job.

A worried mother reports her son missing after a night out clubbing, but finds it difficult to accept he is gay when he is found beaten and raped by Reg and Beth, following an assignation with a casual pick-up. Emma and Sally have some success persuading the troubled youngster to unburden himself and Neil jumps to the conclusion the lad's own friends may have had something to do with the attack. Neil arranges a raid on the homes of the two main suspects.

Terry investigates a loan shark accused of using strong-arm tactics to collect the extortionate repayments she demands. Meanwhile, a Ukrainian woman with no passport or visa is taken to hospital following a road accident but runs away before Sally and Tony can get the full story. Neil finds himself under pressure from Heaton to secure results.

Smithy picks up a lead on a drug dealer operating from a burger van and before long Sun Hill's uniform branch are mounting a raid on a cannabis farm - where Diane puts herself in great danger by ignoring Callum's orders. Back at the station, Phil and Stuart muster as much empathy and sensitivity as they can when CID are called on to sort out a love triangle and find a missing bridegroom in time for his wedding. Beth and Tony attend a domestic disturbance.

The body of missing schoolgirl Chloe Parks is found in a derelict hospital building, but Crime Scene Examiner Lorna Hart cannot confirm the cause of death. Stone is called to identify the girl's body. Suspicion immediately falls on the victim's boyfriend, who seems to be responsible for recent changes in her behaviour, but a chilling home video given to the police by a classmate changes the direction of the investigation. While Sam and Smithy investigate the circumstances leading to her death, Will acts as family liason officer.

The evidence of the videotape convinces Karen Parks her husband has been abusing their daughter. CID arrest him on suspicion of murder, but CCTV footage from an off licence provides him with a cast-iron alibi for the time of Chloe's death and he is released without charge. Will's persistence leads to a tense encounter with the family, and Callum resorts to desperate measures to ensure justice is served.

Phil's latest conquest, Monica Dreyfuss, reports a burglary at her home which has left her bruised, shaken and fearing for her life. A series of beatings on a local estate points to a vigilante campaign against trouble-making drug dealers and the case touches a nerve with Will as he struggles to get over Martin Parks' suicide. Will and Leela respond to reports of a disturbance on an estate and find two badly-beaten men in a flat used by drug dealers.

A masked kidnapper threatens to kill Monica if Phil does not return with the money Louis Dreyfuss owes his boss. He is driven to the casino to remove the ransom money from the safe - but stupidly tries to make his escape. Samantha is shocked to learn of his involvement in the case but allows her old partner to carry on with his undercover operation to the point of handing over the money - not realising Phil's philandering ways have made him more than one new enemy.

Callum briefs the relief on a spate of violent robberies that have occurred in and around the borough. Leela is shocked by Will's tactics when collaring a robbery suspect, and decides to adopt new methods of her own - but her actions do not go unnoticed by Stone. Niiki and Emma attend the scene of a domestic dispute in which a man accuses his wife of having an affair. Sally and Beth attend to the victim of an assault.

Sam investigates the background of an eastern European diplomat accused of a violent assault on a prostitute and learns he could be a murderer. The pressure is on when it emerges the suspect has full diplomatic immunity and is due to be deported within twenty-four hours. Phil and Grace interview a painter, whose valuable nude portrait of an ex-lover has been stolen. Leela accepts a post outside Sun Hill, unaware that her colleague Stone has pulled strings to ease her departure.

Stuart works fast to find the children of separated parents when CCTV footage shows the brother and sister talking to a known paedophile. However, his involvement in their disappearance soon proves to be more than meets the eye. New recruit PC Benjamin Gayle is teamed with Will to investigate an assault on a Polish building worker, and finds himself in a tight spot when the victim's colleagues cut up rough about his fish-poaching activities on the common.

Stuart impresses his Sun Hill colleagues as he makes his debut on television crime show Wanted, hoping to clear up a burglary case during which the victim, lawyer Ian Stroud, suffered a massive heart attack. The public response is overwhelming, leaving the team of Terry, Beth and Ben to pick through a mountain of false leads - including a sighting of a man once defended in court by Stroud who served eight years for a rape he did not commit.

Sally and Emma find a badly beaten woman in possession of a bag full of passports. She claims to be an asylum seeker whose political activist husband was murdered in Zimbabwe. However, when her son is abducted, a completely different story emerges and the race is on to rescue the boy from a violent and vengeful father. Gina discovers a bank robber she believed had died in a bank vault blast years ago is alive and well - and back in the country, forcing her to re-open an investigation into a twenty-year-old bank robbery.

Mickey kisses Sally - strictly in the course of his duties - as they trail bank robber Vince Murray, however, the pair are unable to prevent another robbery. Gina visits his family to find out what he's up to back in England. Meanwhile, the old lag's son, Darren proves to be a chip off the old block, staging a burglary with Ian Forrest's lad Kieran, but it's news to the youngsters that Ian was killed in the bank vault explosion while Vince survived the blast.

When three teenagers collapse after taking uncut cocaine, Diane and Sally are sent to visit the school they all attend. There they break up a fight and further investigations reveal the two girls involved are both caught up in the local drugs scene as suppliers. While they investigate a new supply of pure-grace cocaine, Grace makes a momentous decision about her career, Phil drops a bombshell on his Sun Hill colleagues, and Jo decides to take a new step in her love life.

A paranoid schizophrenic is the main suspect in the case of a prowler who attacked a woman and then stabbed Reg, who answered the call for help. When Callum and Grace indentify the prime suspect, Neil recognises the man as someone he arrested four years previously, and takes pity on him when it emerges he did not receive appropriate medical help at the time, and has since been victimised by neighbours on his estate.

Schizophrenic Michael Simms threatens Shelley Cooper with a knife and when the woman is later killed, Manson orders CO19 to shoot him, assuming Simms is the culprit. In the subsequent inquiry by the department of professional standards, who also subject other officers in CID to criticism, the DI's judgement is called into question by his own superior officer, and he faces the prospect that his career could be over.

Callum and Diane are called to the scene of a domestic disturbance, only to find Diane's neighbour, who has been knocked unconscious with an iron. It looks as if his wife is escaping from an abusive marriage, but all is not as it seems. Meanwhile, Smithy and Nate answer a call from a man who has been sold fake raffle tickets, but the teenage mum accused of the crime impresses the coppers enough to earn a second chance to sort out her life.

A limo driver of a fading pop star is suspected of raping a student found unconscious in an alley by Reg and Tony. Jo and Sam investigate the circumstances leading up to her rape. Elsewhere, Smithy encounters Leanne Samuels again, when he and Emma are called to disturbance at a mini market - only to learn she has lost her job after taking time off work to look after her teenage daughter's baby, and this time he's determined to make Carly see sense before Social Services take the baby away from her. Stuart prepares to makes a further appearance on a tv crime show.

Questioned for beating up schoolboy Paul Herriot, irate father Bryce Lucas admits to Ben and Mickey he did so because he had been sent a videotape of the boy sexually assaulting his daughter - a pupil at the same school. Further investigation uncovers a cycle of abuse involving the disturbed youngster, but his story doesn't quite add up and there are further shocks in store, even for Sun Hill's most worldy wise officers.

Terry and Jo investigate the serious assult of a man promoting a rock against racism concert. Heaton, anticipating trouble at the concert, has a very public run-in with the local MP, Paul Sagger, who crosses swords in a heated TV interview by fuelling tensions in the local community, in the lead-up to the rock against racism concert.

MP Paul Sagger is exposed as an antiques smuggler who owns artefacts looted from a Baghdad museum, but Manson is unsure of just how he is obtaining the valuables. Officers investigate the double-shooting at the rock against racism concert, and Grace discovers Heaton was one of the intended targets. Jo and Terry uncover a possible connection to the Bulldogs of Patriotism.

Derek Jacobs becomes prime suspect for the rock against racism shootings. Manson leads the investigation into the murder of Abdul Muntqim. The search for the gunman leads to evidence confirming that local MP Paul Sagger is directly involved in the illegal importation of artefacts - and Sagger's partner reveals how he smuggled looted goods into the country in her son's coffin. The case reaches a dramatic climax when the killer turns up unexpectedly at the station.

Stuart's driver Trevor Jones helps CID with useful information about a limousine operator who is rumoured to be supplying cocaine as part of the champagne service. Diane and Will respond to a call regarding a hijacked limousine, and Stuart investigates an assault on the driver's wife. Mickey volunteers to pose as a city banker and gather evidence against the villain, but has a few uncomfortable moments when it becomes clear his cover has been blown.

When Stuart's driver Trevor Jones and a female friend are badly beaten up, the detective sets out to link the attack to a mysterious drug dealer known only as the 'Postman'. Meanwhile, Nate and Ben answer a call to a disturbance at a cafe where a boy has had paint sprayed in his face. The assault has racial overtones and the discovery of narcotics at the scene provides a vital lead for the CID investigation.

Stuart is horrified to discover his trusted driver and friend is the mystery drug dealer the 'Postman', who plans to use him as his inside man at Sun Hill, using incriminating photos and unexplained payments into his bank account to blackmail him. Jo rumbles what is going on, but Stuart's efforts to put matters right just lead to greater danger. A drugs bust is thwarted by a tip-off, and Manson suspects a leak from within the team.

Disgraced detective Zain Nadir is interviewed about drug trafficking in Hayesend Prison, where he is serving ten years for perverting the course of justice, after Callum and Will discover the body of a drug addict recently released from prison. He agrees to help his colleagues infiltrate the gang involved. Jack is not sure whether he can trust his mole and fears the worst when a riot breaks out just as the police move in to arrest the operation's kingpin, Zain's cellmate Jason Forbes, who makes good his escape in the confusion.

Zain gets a frosty reception at the station when Heaton secures his release from prison to help Meadows with the recapture of escaped killer Jason Forbes, and Will can't help taking a swing at the man who callously disposed of Honey's body in a bid to save his own skin. Unsurprisingly, Zain encounters hostility from several of his former colleagues. The pursuit leads to a gunpoint showdown, giving Zain a clear choice between escape and doing the right thing.

New recruit DS Max Carter joins the Sun Hill team from CO19 to investigate a tip-off about an armed cash-in-transit robbery, only to find partner DC Perkins drowning his sorrows after the informant is killed for his pains. PCs Gayle and Armstrong arrest two girls for failing to pay their cab fare, and a catastrophic train of events is unleashed when it emerges they were carrying a deadly cargo smuggled in from Ghana - and their boyfriends want it back.

Sally and Tony are taken as hostages by the gun-men and John and Gina take charge of the situation to evacuate the station when an officer is hit by a bullet. Terry sleeps off his hangover in a cell and finds himself in a waking nightmare, trapped in Sun Hill with two murder suspects, two drug mules in a bad way and a pair of reckless maniacs threatening to kill if they don't get their girlfriends back.

It could be the day of Sun Hill's first gay wedding, but PC Lance Powell has been kidnapped by two Christian friends, Hal Richards and Dennis Simpson who try and 'cure' him of his homosexuality, Lance is spotted being kidnapped on CCTV footage and they find out that the man who rented the van that Lance was pulled into lent it to Dennis, Dennis is taken in for questioning and he confesses that him and Hal kidnapped Lance. Lance is rescued and Lance and Sgt Mark Rollins finally marry. A new DC Jo Masters is brought in to diffuse the tension between the warring DCI Jack Meadows and DI Neil Manson, but after meeting DC Jo Masters they both agree that she'll make their lives hell. DC Terry Perkins tracks down his brother and manages to trick his wife into revealing her suspicions about her husbands child abuse but DS Ramani de Costa is hot on his trail.

DS Ramani De Costa and DC Suzie Sim try to find out if DC Terry Perkin's brother, Ben is abusing his kids and Bradley admits his father touches him, but he could have adopted his fathers childhood memories as his own. Meanwhile a woman at St Hughs hospital protests about her embryos being held for ransom and pulls a knife on PC Yvonne Hemmingway. Two people pretending to be protesters try to spring there bail jumping father who is in hospital after a drink driving crash but he is to ill to be moved. In the protest PC Roger Valentine is gagged and handcuffed to a bed and PC Honey Harman finds herself staring down the barrel of a gun.

As actor Mark Wingett prepares to leave the programme, he reflects on his character Jim Carver's 21 years at Sun Hill, from naive probation bobby to DC and all that came in between - drinking, gambling, marrying and divorcing Marie and finally landing the woman of his dreams - June Ackland.

DS De Costa returns to Sun Hill humiliated after being bailed. DC Perkins races to her house, where an increasingly unbalanced Margaret Barnes is planning to commit suicide. In an attempt to prevent her from taking her own life he is stabbed and critically injured. PCSO Laura Bryant is knocked to the ground by a boy running drugs errands. PCs Dan and Stamp track down an inventive graffiti artist who uses cleaning products to produce negative images on dirty walls around Sun Hill. Sgt Smith reprimands receptionist Julian Tavell for gossiping.

Margaret Barnes is taken to hospital where a nurse realises that the blood on her clothes is not consistent with her wounds. DS De Costa realises DC Perkins has been stabbed and rushes home to find him bleeding to death. PC Powell and PCSO Bryant continue to help a delinquent's mother who has been beaten up by her son. They track Tomlin to a local pool hall, where they are taken aback to see Supt Okaro apparently buying drugs from Adi Mateen. DS Nixon is impressed by DS Hunter's uncharacteristic chivalry while working on a case, and asks if he'd like to get together with her socially. Unfortunately, their date is ruined by the reappearance of a figure from Hunter's past.

Supt Okaro attends the funeral of his wife, son and daughter, where he is comforted by Insp Gold, who goes on to compound his distress by telling him that she has cancer. PC Powell and PCSO Bryant continue to try to help local delinquent Jordan Tomlin. Powell is concerned that the superintendent hasn't handed in the drugs package he received from local drug dealer Adi Mateen. DSs Hunter and Nixon investigate the theft of a laptop containing sexually explicit material. Nixon seems to have cooled towards Hunter, who confides in his brother Steve about Kate Maltby's pregnancy.

DS Nixon confronts DS Hunter about Kate Maltby's pregnancy. Hunter then attacks his younger brother Steve, accusing him of betraying a confidence. Supt Okaro and Insp Gold have a heart-to-heart discussion, but she is sure he's hiding something. PCs Kent and Murphy work together on a harassment case involving Kent's fancy woman. Drug dealer Adi Mateen is forced to reveal his true identity in a desperate bid to save PC Powell from being shot by Jordan Tomlin.

DC Zain Nadir is certain that his cover has not been blown, and Supt Adam Okaro authorises him to meet drug dealer Joshua Armstrong. The intervention of an armed motorcycle passenger threatens to cut short the entire investigation. PC Harman returns from honeymoon and confides in PC Hemmingway about a storage unit hired by new husband Scott Burnett. Hemmingway finds a bloody glove, fuelling suspicions that he killed his first wife. DS Phil Hunter is furious with his brother for telling Kate Maltby about his daughter Madison.

PC Casper has a humiliating run-in with three yobs and later tries to save face by telling PC Johannsen that they had threatened him with a knife. At the end of the shift, he seeks solace in the arms of drugs referral officer Rochelle Barratt. PC Harman confronts husband Scott Burnett, who breaks down and admits to killing his first wife Karen. She implores him to turn himself in, but when the police arrive at their house, the couple are nowhere to be seen.

DI Morell investigates the apparent abduction of PC Harman by new husband Scott Burnett, but she has fled with him of her own volition and they are preparing to set sail for France. PCs Hemmingway and Stamp arrest a thief and Hemmingway leaves herself open to charges of using excessive force. PC Johannsen teases PC Casper about his run-in with the gang.

There is an enquiry into the PC Hemmingway's use of her asp on Lee Thomas, who dies from his injuries. Supt Okaro interviews PC Harman, who insists that she was abducted by husband Scott Burnett. PC Casper confesses to Insp Gold that PC Johannsen has been blackmailing him. Johannsen lets slip to Julian Tavell that the inspector has cancer.

PC Harman is allowed to retract her resignation, but husband Scott Burnett tries to kill himself in prison. PC Hemmingway is suspended from duty, pending investigation into the death of Lee Thomas, causing uncertainty among the relief as to what constitutes reasonable force when apprehending a suspect. PC Kapoor is accused of assault, while PC Stamp hesitates to use his asp and is beaten severely. DC Nadir agrees to a stint with Sun Hill CID before his next undercover job.

Sgt Ackland leads a short-lived rebellion over the suspension of PC Hemmingway. Supt Okaro tries to defuse the threat of strike action by the relief, reminding them of their duties as police officers and offering to let Hemmingway return to the station on non-operational duties while the inquiry takes its course. PC Casper panics that his affair with Rochelle Barratt is about to become public, but reacts with dismay when she suggests they put their affair on hold. DC Best feels that he is being patronised by DC Sim. DI Manson confides in Sim about his affair with the late PC Dunbar. The Hunter brothers clash over Phil's treatment of Kate.

PCSO Bryant discovers that the boy bullying her son Liam is dealing drugs at school. DS Nixon continues to wind up DC Masters. DI Manson puts pressure on DC Best to drop his accusations against DC Sim. PC Murphy confronts PC Kent about their relationship. CPS lawyer Jonathan Fox returns to Sun Hill.

Sgt Smith attends a car-jacking incident and is attracted to the victim, Louise Larson, the wife of a local gangster. PCs Johannsen and Harman are sent to catch a gang of cash machine skimmers. DS Hunter discovers that Christine Weaver plans to migrate to Australia with their daughter. PC Murphy ignores Sgt Ackland's advice to steer clear of PC Kent.

PCs Valentine and Casper break up a violent fight between two old friends, and have to deal with the consequences when one of the men is stabbed. DC Nadir is investigating gangster Pete Larson, while Sgt Smith has been sleeping with Mrs Larson. DC Perkins is called as a witness at his brother's trial. DS Hunter is concerned that Christine Weaver plans to emigrate with their daughter Madison.

Supt. Okaro struggles to make headway with his road safety campaign. D.C. Perkins's nephew testifies against his father. Sgt. Smith continues his relationship with a gangster's wife. P.C. Stamp tries his hand at internet dating. D.S. Hunter's mum lectures him about parental responsibility.

D.C. Best is shot in the back during a raid on a gang suspected of handling stolen goods. D.S. Hunter vows to catch the thug responsible for assaulting his pregnant ex-lover, and inadvertently proposes marriage. Insp. Gold returns to duty after cancer therapy but is unfit for work. Supt. Okaro hits another snag with his road safety initiative.

Acting DC Best survives the shooting, but may be paralysed. Reunited with his estranged mother, he decides to return to Manchester. DCI Meadows and CID begin the search for the gunman, and are led to Supt Okaro's old friend Isaac Collins. Sgt Smith and Jonathan Fox investigate Insp Gold's absence and find her passed out in her bathroom. PC Stamp hires an escort to accompany him to PC Harman's birthday party, but she turns out to be a moonlighting PC Johannsen.

Supt. Okaro tenders his resignation as photographs of him smoking a joint with Isaac Collins are passed on to the MET. However, unbeknown to the relief, he has gone undercover for the NCS, hoping to identify Collins for the rogue that he is. When Collins offers him the job of a security consultant, he uses it a pretext to begin his investigation. Meanwhile, Ch Supt Barratt arrives at Sun Hill to take control of the situation, and unknown to him, he comes dangerously close to discovering the affair between PC Casper and his wife, Rochelle. PC Johannsen exploits her new status as PC Stamp's 'girlfriend', so he decides to end their relationship. DCI Meadows challenges DI Manson over his relationship with DC Sim after he catches them in a compromising situation.

Having discovered the CCTV tape of PC Cathy Bradford with his wife on the night she died, and the body of Cathy's fiance, Max Wyatt, the Murder Investigation Team are called in. DC Brandon Kane is horrified to discover that Bradford (using her police uniform) has abducted his children from their school. Sgt. Dale Smith tries to convince Insp. Gina Gold to tell Sgt. June Ackland of their discovery of Gabriel Kent's birth certificate reveals that he is June's son. An old friend of Gina's arouses suspicion when he is found in a stolen car and then tries to hide a briefcase containing £15000 in cash. As the search for Bradford and the Kane children intensifies, Bradford sneaks the kids into the station under the very noses of the investigating officers - into the Sun Hill boiler room.

Leo Price agrees to help Sgt. Dale Smith and CID with some information when his little brother is attacked and left injured. When the information leads to several arrests on the estate, Smithy must take steps to protect Leo from a possible revenge attack. PC Cathy Bradford, still in the boiler room with the Kane kids, turns off the station heating to lure someone down there. An engineer is called to fix the boiler, but he is knocked unconscious by Cathy. When Sgt. June Ackland and PC Honey Harman go looking for the missing engineer, they find him outside the boiler room, they realise what's going on. Ackland tries her best to coax the rogue copper out, but Bradford refuses to talk to anyone except DC Brandon Kane.

Sgt. June Ackland has discovered PC Cathy Bradford has barricaded herself and DC Brandon Kane's kids in the station's boiler room. When Cathy promises to release the kids in exchange for Brandon as a hostage, Insp. Gina Gold refuses, but Supt. Adam Okaro overrides her decision. Cathy insists Brandon must choose one child, but he manages to negotiate Zoe's release as well. Forcing Brandon to handcuff himself, Bradford relives the events of the past year, including the death of Brandon's wife Tanya. The station is evacuated, and the TSG arrive to provide support. Cathy's stories become increasingly unbelievable, as she tells Brandon that she was abducted by a serial killer as a child. DS Samanatha Nixon and DC Eva Sharpe trawl through Cathy's belongings and find that was not true. When Cathy moves Brandon out of range of the TSG probe, Okaro authorises TSG to force entry into the room. Brandon manages to overpower Cathy, but she lights a petrol fire intending to kill them both.

TSG storm the boiler room and Supt. Adam Okaro arrests a screaming Cathy Bradford for murder. Despite his colleagues' warnings, DC Brandon Kane insists on returning to work at CID, but when he finds himself conned by an elderly woman for an insurance scam, he realises his mind isn't on the job any more. Kane goes to see Supt. Okaro and hands in his resignation, saying he wants to spend time with his kids. PC Gary Best is seconded to CID, and is temporarily partnered with DC Terry Perkins who barely tolerates his new sidekick. The pair investigate the mugging of a city trader by two homeless ex-servicemen. Terry is disgusted by the world the traders inhabit and is frustrated when he learns that the mugging was a revenge attack. When Gary goes out on his own initiative and almost blows the case, Terry takes matters into his own hands and threatens to reveal the trader's cocaine use. PC Jim Carver's wife Marie turns up, begging him not to proceed with the trial against her. When he refuse

Marie Carver is in court on charges of domestic violence against her husband, PC Jim Carver. Despite testimony from PC Gabriel Kent, who witnessed one of Marie's attacks on Jim, Marie and her lawyer manage to turn the case around and plead self-defence, saying that Jim had attacked Marie first. Marie's son, Ben Graham, takes the stand, and his emotional testimony absolves Jim of any violent actions - Marie changes her plea to guilty, and Jim finds himself tempted to drink again. Supt. Adam Okaro is worried that his job is on the line - the new Borough Commander, Louise Campbell, is on her way to see him, and he blames himself for the Cathy Bradford incident as he had neglected to cancel her keypass to the station, allowing her access to the boiler room. PC Tony Stamp and PC Kerry Young bring in two teenagers, Curtis and Carla, on suspicion of mugging, but when Curtis admits stealing money from Carla's father, Rev. Andho, further investigation reveals that the Reverend has been skimming

Supt Okaro faces a difficult time with the fraud investigations into his wife's bank accounts and her relationship with the Reverend Andho. How will Okaro deal with the subsequent and growing press interest and the certain scandal, especially when Denise admits her feelings for the Reverend? It's not as though he doesn't have enough worries on his plate when Sun Hill faces a civil law suit after a raid on the wrong home. DS Sam Nixon goes out of her way to get a result on a case involving a guy called Devon who is selling counterfeit DVDs and who she knows is carrying a gun. She turns to Devon's father, revealing to him his son's involvement in the underworld. But when the sting operation he agrees to take part in backfires, he becomes an innocent victim in a gang shooting and Sam faces the responsibility. It's a real kick in the teeth for her, especially when new DI Neil Manson tells her he's not impressed with her actions. And Sergeant Sheelagh Murphy is left in total shock when

Sergeant Sheelagh Murphy is shaken by the previous night's sighting of Des Taviner. Confused about why Des should come back to Sun Hill, Sheelagh becomes frantic when she believes her baby Niamh has gone missing and Reg attempts to calm her. When the baby is discovered safe and well Sheelagh refuses to take any chances and asks PC Cameron Tait to babysit. Thinking her baby is in safe hands, Sheelagh returns home to find Cameron and a paramedic desperately trying to save her baby's life. Elsewhere, PC Yvonne Hemmingway deals with an hysterical woman who is smashing up a shop. Discovering that she is a rape victim who is being traumatised and stalked by her attacker, DC Terry Perkins and DC Eva Sharpe step in to try to convince another of the rapist's victims to come forward and press charges after years of keeping quiet. And Superintendent Adam Okaro is forced to put his recent domestic troubles behind him and begins to build bridges with both the relief and his wife.

A major road traffic accident in Sun Hill sees a seriously injured man, Adrian Collins, rushed to St Hugh's Hospital. When Uniform discover a handgun and balaclava in Collins' car, and after questioning from DC Terry Perkins and PC Kerry Young, Collins admits he was on his way to a bank robbery. When an alarm is triggered at a nearby bank, Sgt Dale Smith realises the robbery has proceeded without Collins and takes charge of the situation. With SO19 delayed in traffic, Smithy has trouble commanding the respect of his officers with rumours of Kerry's alleged rape flying around. An angry PC Cameron Tait confronts him and the two nearly come to blows until they agree to concentrate on the job at hand. The lone bank robber is Trevor Willets, and he demands a getaway car. The situation gets even worse when the bank's terrified manager is pushed out with a bomb strapped to his waist. The bank manager's partner, and Willets' ex-wife Louise is brought to the scene, but her hysterical presence d

PC Kerry Young is found injured but alive in the rubble after the explosion behind the bank, but the bank manager was killed in the explosion. As DS Samantha Nixon investigates the aftermath, there is considerable question over where the blame will lie. PC Cameron Tait begs Kerry not to reveal that they were arguing when the bomb went off, but he later reveals this to DS Nixon, as well as telling her about Kerry's accusation of rape against Sgt Dale Smith. Smithy comes under scrutiny as he was in charge of the operation, and PC Andrea Dunbar admits that she told Louise Willets that the bomb was a fake. Under pressure from her editor, Dunbar may be able to keep him sweet with the date rape story which is now the talk of the station. PC Gabriel Kent steals the CCTV footage that would reveal what happened and could incriminate Kerry Young.

DC Terry Perkins is undercover in prison, where he investigates convicted paedophile Charles Mawdsley who is believed to be running a paedophile ring with the help of one of the prison guards. DS Ramani de Costa appears as a prison counsellor, acting as Terry's contact with the outside world, but when Terry opens up in a group therapy session, Ramani begins to suspect that he was abused as a child. By arresting a corrupt guard who was dealing drugs, Supt Okaro hopes to force Mawdsley to play his hand, but in interview, the guard reveals that the prison's assistant governor is also corrupt. Okaro and de Costa race to the prison just in time to stop Terry from being killed by Mawdsley. Meanwhile DI Neil Manson gets a call from a prisoner at the same nick who wants to pass on information about a huge planned diamond robbery - the grass is none other than Don Beech, Manson's former sergeant at Barton Street and former Sun Hill DS.

DI Neil Manson's suspicions are proven correct, but nobody else knows that Manson's tip-offs are coming from Don Beech. The arrival of DI Peter Cavanaugh, an Australian cop on attachment to the NCIS, sets hearts a-flutter, but DCI Jack Meadows is furious when DI Manson's liaisons with Beech are revealed. New PC Lance Powell arrests a black teenager on suspicion of shoplifting, but cops a warning from Supt Adam Okaro to tread more carefully with the black community in future. An angry Powell is fair game for DC Rob Thatcher and undercover journalist PC Andrea Dunbar, who are both seeking to prove that Okaro has it in for his black officers. PC Gary Best is stunned when Powell tells him he's gay.

Concerned for the safety of DS Samantha Nixon and PC Cameron Tait who are undercover as waiting staff on the target boat, Manson orders DS Phil Hunter on to the boat as well. PC Gabriel Kent could be in trouble when Roy Stafford turns up at the station to report Kent's assault on him. Insp. Gina Gold is delighted she may be able to get rid of the evil Gabriel at last, but a Coal Lane resident arrives and gives Kent an alibi. She has an ulterior motive however - as well as approving of Kent's brutal actions on Stafford, she wants him to enact some vigilante justice on a loan shark on the estate. CPS Lawyer Jonathan Fox asks Gina Gold out on a date, and Supt Adam Okaro continues to receive hate mail from within the station.

DI Peter Cavanaugh contacts DS Samantha Nixon and declares his love for her, begging her to join him on the run. She agrees, but informs DCI Meadows of his plans. Using her mobile as a tracking device, Meadows and his team close in, but when Cavanaugh realises he's been betrayed he takes Nixon hostage. DCs Rob Thatcher and Ken Drummond are on an obbo watching a witness in a fraud case, when Ken's son Alex turns up on the doorstep in a state of shock. While on a night out with his mates to celebrate his 17th birthday, Alex believes he has killed a prostitute. Drummond leaves Alex with Thatcher, and rushes to the woman's flat - she is dead, and Ken hastily removes evidence from the scene (Alex's hat). With their obbo blown, and Thatcher suspecting their target has switched places with another person, he and Alex manage to salvage the operation when they find some vital evidence in the target's rubbish bin. When Ken informs Alex of the death, he runs off and is found the next morning threatening to jump off a building, but he is talked down by his father. Drummond replaces the evidence and reluctantly calls in MIT, and Alex is arrested. Kent, however, sees the fear in the Sharon's eyes, and when she is later attacked, he probes further and discovers that the boyfriend is blackmailing her with some nude photos in his possession. Holding the threat of the incriminating CCTV tape of the bank explosion over her, Gabriel convinces a reluctant Kerry to distract Chris while he breaks into his flat and retrieves the photos. Mission accomplished, he tells Kerry he's wiped the tape, and she is so relieved, she nearly kisses him. Back at the station, PC Cameron Tait stuns Kerry further with a surprise marriage proposal. PC Yvonne Hemmingway arrests a 17-year old girl, Shirley Moss, on shoplifiting charges and forms a bond with the girl when Shirley tells her she's pregnant. Hemmingway convinces the shopkeeper to drop the charges, and when the father of Shirley's child turns out to be big-time drug dealer Rifkin, Hunter and Nixon organise an SO19 raid on Rifkin's flat, but with drug courier Sonny and Shirley both in police custody, Rifkin clearly has his bases covered. He insists she makes the allegation official if they are to stay together, but Kerry is reluctant to do so after the incident with Smithy. DS Samantha Nixon must decide whether to defend DS Phil Hunter when questions arise over Hunter's killing of Dennis Weaver. As the only witness, Nixon can clear Hunter's name if she confirms Weaver was killed in self-defence. PC Andrea Dunbar hides a press clipping of an article she wrote about the incident, but fears for her cover when a journalist colleague arrives at the station to interview PC Lance Powell as the 'new face of Sun Hill'. Powell investigates what looks like another homophobic hate crime when a man is bashed after meeting a young man at a gay club. PC Sheelagh Murphy is shocked when she recognises her son Conor on the CCTV evidence, and Powell is forced to arrest Conor for GBH. DC Jim Carver and PC Honey Harman investigate when a fortune teller has her crystal ball stolen, and Jim later visits June Ackland in hospital where he hands her a ring and proposes to her. PC Gabriel Kent all but admits to PC Cameron Tait that he raped PC Kerry Young, then calls off sick.

The net is closing in on Alan Kennedy, the main suspect for the serial rapes. Kennedy is not at home when the police raid his flat, and several other leads - an allotment he keeps, and his (deceased) mother - also fall through. Eventually he is found through his hobby of falconry and arrested. CPS lawyer Jonathan Fox warns that more than the forensic evidence is needed to prosecute Kennedy, and reluctant witness Khadija Miah is brought into the station to identify him as her assailant. However, when Khadija runs into PC Gabriel Kent, PC Kerry Young could lose her job over the fact that she may have ""tainted"" the witness by showing her Gabriel's photograph. PC Cameron Tait's job is also on the line after his attack on Kent in the canteen. Despite Kent's agreement to a transfer, Tait decides to leave Sun Hill, London and Kerry Young behind and he catches a cab to Heathrow to fly back to Sydney.

With insufficient forensic evidence to charge him, DI Neil Manson and DS Samantha Nixon have 24 hours to extract a confession from serial rape suspect Alan Kennedy. CPS laywer Jonathan Fox, who previously defended Kennedy on an assault charge, watches the proceedings with great interest, but the stress may be too much for him, and he jeopardises his relationship with Insp. Gina Gold when he makes a comment about her not having children. With police scouring Kennedy's mother's flat for forensic evidence or clues which will help, Manson and Nixon continue their interview, but Kennedy is a tough nut to crack. The next day, literally at the last minute, Nixon puts the pieces together and Kennedy finally confesses. Simultaneously, Dr Hugh Wallis finds a knife in the flat. With Kennedy behind bars, the relief attend a community party organised by Supt. Okaro, but the fun is quickly over when a massive bomb explodes.

DI Neil Manson orders PCs Tony Stamp and Lance Powell to stay out of the wreckage of the pub where the bomb has gone off while he summons help. When Stamp realises Supt. Okaro is still inside, he risks his life to rescue the Super, and manages to save him in the nick of time. Unaware of the chaos nearby, DC Rob Thatcher slips another racist hate letter into Okaro's internal mail. When it looks like Okaro was the bomb's intended target, Thatcher and Jerome Taylor realise their letter campaign could be their undoing when SO13 (the Anti-Terrorist Branch) investigate. Thatcher discovers CCTV footage of on of the Radford boys near the pub at the time of the explosion, and he follows the Radfords into a trap. DCI Jack Meadows takes charge when his baby with Rachel Heath is kidnapped by a religious fanatic, but when the baby is recovered, Meadows is alarmed to find Rachel doesn't want him involved in their lives. PC Lance Powell tries to work out who sent him the text message about the bomb, and realises only three people had his new number: his family, his boyfriend... and Conor Murphy. Powell tells PC Sheelagh Murphy about his suspicions, and she is disgusted that he could think her son could be capable of the bombing. DCI Meadows leads a search on Sheelagh's house, and the phone used to send the message is found in Conor's room. Conor is arrested when he is found brawling with a friend of his. His friend admits to the bombing, and Conor admits to his mother that he is gay. With the bomber found, Supt. Okaro must bite the bullet and apologise to Jerome Taylor for accusing him, but Taylor says it's too late, and he is determined to destroy Okaro's career. Trainee DC Gary Best goes undercover to catch a drug dealer with DC Ken Drummond and DC Rob Thatcher, but finds himself at the wrong end of a beating.

Wayne Radford has been found dead in his prison cell. It appears to be suicide, but Radford also has a number of bruises and cigarette burns on his body. Insp. Gina Gold hears from Radford's cellmate that a copper was spreading rumours that Wayne was a child killer. Malcolm Willard's garden centre has reported him missing, and DS Ramani De Costa is concerned as she suspects DC Terry Perkins has been to see his childhood abuser. PC Reg Hollis and PC Steve Hunter find Willard alive and well at his home, but are called back later to find DC Perkins' brother Ben trying to drown Willard, who is later shot dead. PC Andrea Dunbar is on a crusade to clear Supt Adam Okaro's name, and angers DI Neil Manson when she illegally submits one of Jerome Taylor's cigarette butts for a DNA test, to prove that he planted the marijuana in the Super's car.

Malcolm Willard has been shot dead from long range, and once again DC Terry Perkins and his brother Ben are in the frame. Perkins is shocked when he turns up at CID to hear that Willard is dead, and that MIT want to interview him. Perkins and DS Ramani De Costa head to Ben's lockup, where they find an empty rifle case. Perkins and De Costa head to the old Perkins house where the abuse took place, and SO19 storm in and arrest Ben, but he is later cleared as the bullet that killed Willard was a different calibre. Supt. Adam Okaro is on trial for drug possession, and DI Neil Manson's wife is his defence barrister. His chances are not looking good though, as the prosecution tears through witnesses PC Steve Hunter and DC Rob Thatcher. DI Manson and PC Andrea Dunbar discover that the DNA on the drugs matches that of Jerome Taylor, and they locate the man who sold Taylor the drugs. Needing an excuse to arrest him so they can get a legitimate DNA sample, Manson goads Taylor into attacking him.

DCI Jack Meadows arrives in a sleepy village for the funeral of old friend and colleague Ted Roach, who has been killed in a hit-and-run on a lonely country road. Also attending the service are his former Sun Hill colleagues, Bob Cryer and Alec Peters. Unsatisfied with the investigation by the local police, Meadows decides to do some digging of his own, and has a run-in with the local police sergeant. They discover some startling facts about their old friend: Ted had been having an affair with the sergeant's wife, and had just discovered he was terminally ill. The trio track down the man who hit him, and Meadows convinces him that it wasn't his fault - Ted wanted to die. As Meadows prepares to return to London, he suffers a heart attack and collapses. Meanwhile, back at Sun Hill, DC Terry Perkins isn't handling his suspiscions that his brother has abused his children at all well, and puts in for a transfer out of PPU and back into CID.

Insp. Gina Gold warns PC Kerry Young that her job is on the line if she continues to consort with David Radford. PC Gabriel Kent and PC Andrea Dunbar find an 11-year-old blind girl who has been seriously assaulted in her own home. A neighbour identifies the mother's ex-boyfriend as the culprit, but DC Suzie Sim is furious that PC Dunbar has not followed procedure and their only forensic evidence is lost. Their suspect, Christopher Spinks, is in court, but is released on bail. As Spinks leaves the courthouse, he is shot dead - the third victim of the serial sniper. DS Debbie McAllister visits one of DCI Meadows' snouts for information on a lingerie robbery. DC Jim Carver is up to his neck in gambling debts.

Sgt Mark Rollins is assigned to Sun Hill after a suspected sniper shooting but tension soon arises between him and boyfriend PC Lance Powell when Mark is uncomfortable with Lance's openness about being gay.

Yvonne has to deal with her niece when she is found unconscious having taken ecstasy pills left lying around her flat. Jim returns to work telling his colleagues that the trip has been delayed following an outbreak of legionnaires disease. Andrea tells Gabriel that it wasn't her who told MIT about Kerry's rape allegation but Smithy.

When an old school friend of PC Ruby Buxton disappears after being robbed, Buxton finds her friend's mother is defensive about her daughter's whereabouts. When the bank mistakenly credits his account, will DC Ken Drummond take the money and run, or notify them of their mistake?

PC Des Taviner is eager to investigate Judge Sinclair, who he suspects is corrupt. DCI Meadows, a friend of the judge, insists he drop it, but asks DC Mickey Webb to keep an eye on the case. Insp. Gold overhears Taviner and Meadows, and encourages Taviner to investigate in secret. TDC Brandon Kane urges PC Cathy Bradford to reveal that she is HIV positive, but Bradford is reluctant as she thinks it could ruin her chances of joining CID. A clairvoyant's glimpse of the future encourages Sgt. June Ackland to reconsider the nature of her relationship with PC Jim Carver.

PC Des Taviner is transferred to CSU, and unsettles the team with his methods and aggressive attitude. Sgt. June Ackland worries about her marriage proposal to PC Jim Carver, and DCI Jack Meadows makes his feelings for DS Debbie McAllister. Roberta Cryer questions an evasive PC Cathy Bradford about her medication - a question Bradford is ill-prepared to answer. DS Phil Hunter is also caught on the wrong foot when DC Mickey Webb's investigation into a corrupt judge could land him in hot water. Attending a domestic at a local house, PC Luke Ashton discovers a love triangle that is not all it appears to be.

The seemingly random drive-by shooting of a young girl at a local bank seems more deliberate when her father is discovered to be an accountant for some local thugs. FDO Roberta Cryer is suspicious about PC Cathy Bradford's HIV lie after Bradford is berated by DS Phil Hunter for putting others at risk. PC Nick Klein attends Simon Kitson's memorial service, but lets his emotions get the better of him when he encounters Pat Kitson there. PC Kerry Young investigates reports of a flasher, and encounters the mysterious but charming new Aussie PC, Cameron Tait.

PC Luke Ashton is shocked to discover that his wife, PC Kerry Young, is pregnant. DC Danny Glaze sees a way to get enough evidence to arrest a teenage burglar when a young man is attacked by two thugs, although his informant may be at risk. DCI Jack Meadows is furious when DS McAllister is dropped off at work by a handsome young man. Sun Hill station holds an Open Day, and DC Eva Sharpe invites her family along, but after a row, her daughter Joanna goes missing.

A massive search is underway for DC Eva Sharpe's missing eight-year-old daughter, Joanna. As a police officer, Eva is only too aware how serious the situation is, especially when a press conference is called. PC Reg Hollis is suspicious of a couple he questions during enquiries. Joe Kincaid joins the search, and Sgt. Craig Gilmore notices the attraction between Kincaid and PC Luke Ashton. PC Ruby Buxton discovers a vital clue to Joanna's disappearance at a local corner shop.

An assault on a prison officer may not be the straightforward mugging it appears to be. PC Jim Carver moves in with the Sharpes as their Family Liaison Officer, hoping to glean some vital information on Joanna's disappearance. PC Kerry Young suspects her husband is having an affair, and notices something going on when Ashton visits his sergeant in hospital after Gilmore is attacked while guarding a witness. PC Des Taviner ignores what could be an important clue in the Joanna Sharpe investigation, as he thinks it comes from an unreliable source. When the police get word there may be a paedophile ring operating in Sun Hill, they are determined to keep this news from Joanna's distraught parents.

Despite the objections of her colleagues, DC Eva Sharpe returns to work, escorted by new Sergeant Sheelagh Murphy. Eva's colleagues, and a special unit from Scotland Yard, do their best to investigate a possible paedophile ring without alarming Eva and her husband. PC Jim Carver finds the pressure of being the Sharpes' Family Liaison Officer too much, and finds himself tempted to have a drink, but Sgt. June Ackland is on hand to show him just how much she cares about him. DCI Jack Meadows is convinced his old friend Judge Sinclair is a paedophile, and despite DC Mickey Webb's objections to keep the investigation official and above board, Meadows confronts Sinclair on his own terms.

Supt. Adam Okaro is under pressure from the Borough Commander to get rid of DCI Jack Meadows after Meadow's confrontation with Judge Howard Sinclair. DC Eva Sharpe is furious when she discovers that her colleagues have kept the paedophile investigation from her, but when a child is found dead, there are fears it could be Eva's daughter Joanna. DC Sharpe and Sgt. Murphy investigate a pizza delivery man's missing moped. With his career on the line, DCI Meadows turns to Sgt. June Ackland to convince a reluctant witness to make a statement against Judge Sinclair.

CID's investigation into the paedophile ring continues to throw up unanswered questions. Meadows realises that he is sailing very close to the wind whilst trying to link Howard Sinclair over his involvement with the ring. Fitzwilliam begins to get very iffy about Meadows' actions and warns Okaro he could face disciplinary action if he fails to deal with him. Sharpe is relieved when the young child's body is revealed not to be Joanna, but is frightened that she may have come to harm. Hunter is disturbed to find his criminal contacts are being linked with the abduction inquiry, while Stamp and Best are called out to a burglary at a luxury flat and discover a little more than they initially bargained for.

It's the day of reckoning for CID when they finally get suspected paedophile Clive Inverdale into court, but the situation goes from bad to worse when the court is stormed by a masked man with a gun, and Inverdale is shot dead. To make matters worse, Meadows' prime suspect, Ron Gregory, has an alibi in the form of none other than Hunter. With Sinclair also out of the picture, the investigation looks to be heading nowhere. Meanwhile, Osbourne and Hollis investigate several cases of stolen masonry, including one where the owner was brutally attacked during the robbery. A search of a derelict building for the stolen goods yields much more than expected when Joanna Sharpe is found alive.

DC Eva Sharpe is relieved when her daughter is found alive, although what ordeal she has been through remains unknown. The paedophile investigation into the charity ""Global Families"" continues, as the officers try to identify a dead child. PC Cathy Bradford is jealous when DC Brandon Kane starts dating a doctor. DC Drummond's son sees him meeting his mistress, and DS Phil Hunter continues to play off villain Ron Gregory and DCI Jack Meadows against each other.

Acting DI Sam Nixon is convinced that Ron Gregory is behind the paedophile ring - but can she prove it? While DCI Jack Meadows is certain DS Phil Hunter is still working for Ron and is reporting him to the police authorities. Phil pleads, ""I'm the only one that can get a result, because I know Gregory better than anyone. Give me 24 hours and I'll have Gregory sitting in one of them cells"". But will he convince Jack to give him more time? The police now know that the murdered girl 'Angel', real name Rachel, had been brought over from Africa to sponsor parents Mr. & Mrs. Eddison. The couple now face severe questioning at the station. Were they aware abuse was taking place with their sponsor child, and could they have been the perpetrators? When Rachel's sponsor parent, Mr Eddison suddenly makes a confession, the police suspect he's been 'influenced' by someone to change his story. Did he really kill Rachel or is he just acting on someone else's orders to save his own life?When PCs Des Ta

Boyden and Tait attend a fight at Harvey Wallace comprehensive and discover that one or two of the pupils are acting strangely around their teacher, Sonia Graham. While Tait is smitten, Boyden discovers that rumours are escalating that Sonia is having extra-marital relations with some of her students. Meanwhile, Ashton and Buxton attend a fire at a public convenience, and find two young girls trapped in the toilet cubicle. When Ashton manages to free them from danger, they both make good their escape and Ashton suspects that something is wrong. Glaze and Webb attend a shooting at a local gymnasium, where they find that none of the witnesses are willing to offer any information.

Abi Nixon arrives at the station on a work experience placement, and is sent out on patrol with Boyden, much to her delight. When Boyden is accused of having a sexual encounter with one of Abi's friends, Abi steps in to defend him. Young suspects that rape victim Louanna isn't telling the whole truth when she accuses one of her schoolmates of rape, despite the fact that her injuries suggest that she was attacked by more than one person. Schoolteacher Sonia Graham finds herself on the end of a sustained barrage of abuse, including offensive graffiti being sprayed on her house and pornographic material being posted through her letterbox. Ashton races to stop Young from having an abortion.

The sustained abuse towards schoolteacher Sonia Graham runs into overdrive when she is found in her flat, having been shot through the chest, and the list of suspects soon begins to mount. Glaze struggles to get Prince's brother Nathan back on side after harsh mishandlings by Webb, so Webb decides to trail him to see if he leads him to the top prize - and soon enough, his suspicions are proved to be correct. Young finally manages to get young rape victim Louanna to open up about her ordeal, and subsequently, members of the Bevan Park crew are arrested on suspicion. On the way to respond to an urgent call for assistance, Hollis notices Boyden pulled over at the roadside in a clinch with Abi Nixon.

PC Gary Best is smitten by the arrival of new PC Honey Harman, whose manner and appearance lead Sgt. Matt Boyden to conclude that she's a bit of an airhead. Searching the school for the gun used in the gymnasium shooting and the shooting of teacher Sonia Graham, PC Reg Hollis stumbles upon Boyden in an embrace with DI Nixon's 15-year-old daughter. Sgt. June Ackland recommends Reg inform the Superintendant, which he does. Boyden is furious, but not as furious as DI Nixon when she finds out that her colleague has taken advantage of her underage daughter. Insp. Gina Gold and PC Luke Ashton are concerned that PC Kerry Young is back at work too soon after her miscarriage, but Kerry's considerable persuasive skills come into play when rape witness Beth Tyler is threatened on the estate and refuses to testify. Best and Harman follow some robbery suspects on foot patrol, but when this leads them to the gun and the student who murdered Sonia Graham, Best is taken hostage. Harman uses her judo s

PC Polly Page returns to duty at Sun Hill following her breakdown. She is assigned to the CSU, and paired with PC Cathy Bradford. Page and Bradford investigate a stalking case which becomes far less straightforward when both parties accuse the other of harrasment. PC Gary Best goes undercover as a schoolboy to investigate drug dealers targetting the school, but when his information leads to a raid, Abigail Nixon blows his cover. Arrested for assault by PC Luke Ashton, Acting DI Nixon and Sgt. Murphy witness Abi putting the moves on a befuddled Ashton, making Sgt. Matt Boyden's denials slightly more believable. PC Jim Carver spends the day with the mother of murdered teacher Sonia Graham, but his professional role as Family Liaison Officer is comprimised when they end up in bed together.

PC Des Taviner is given his own set of wheels - a bicycle - and hits the road in a new capacity as ward officer on the Coal Lane Estate. Sgt. Sheelagh Murphy is not so pleased when Taviner eagerly assists an attractive resident. An abandoned lorry leads Sun Hill officers to the discovery of a Chinese ""snakehead"" gang smuggling illegal immigrants into the country. The shooting and ritual disfigurement of one of the owners of the lorry company sees Sgt. Matt Boyden staring down the barrel of a gun when he attends the scene. Furious after Boyden's indiscretions with her daughter, Acting DI Nixon is reluctantly paired with the sergeant to find the gunman. DS Debbie McAllister's patience is wearing thin, as rape case witness Beth starts acting up and demanding perks for her testimony. PC Kerry Young manages to settle her down, but Young's actions could severely jeopardise Louanna's case. PC Jim Carver flounders in a state of romantic confusion as he tries to avoid Marie Graham. PC Des Taviner finds a terrified shoeless Chinese man on the Coal Lane estate, but when he is taken to the station for interview, there are serious doubts about the Chinese interpreter sent by the Yard, Mai Ann Wey. Unaware of these doubts, Taviner seeks Mai Ann's help when he discovers a flat full of illegal immigrants on the estate. When the immigrants all disappear and there are signs of violence, it becomes clear that Mai Ann is working for the snakehead gang, and Taviner turns to a reluctant Chinese priest, Father Kwong, to locate the immigrants. The court case against the boys who gang-raped Louanna Shaw nearly falls apart when Louanna's friend Beth loses her temper in court and the defence lawyer sees PC Kerry Young discussing the case with her husband PC Luke Ashton. Only Insp. Gina Gold's forceful testimony saves the day, but Young is furious with Ashton for jeopardising the case and insists their marriage is over. Sun Hill police officers swoop into London's Chinatown to locate and arrest corrupt interpreter Mai Ann Wey. Desperate to make amends to Sgt. Sheelagh Murphy, PC Des Taviner manages to catch Mai Ann when she eludes the rest of the team. DC Mickey Webb is in turmoil after witnessing Supt. Adam Okaro having a friendly meeting with a suspected paedophile. Even a sceptical Insp. Gina Gold begins to have her suspiscions about Okaro when Webb sees him taking his own daughter to Gregory. Okaro is furious when Webb charges into a delicate covert op to ensnare Ron Gregory. Gregory is arrested, and the ""child"" in his boot is revealed to be civillian Front Desk Officer Roberta Cryer. Since there is so little evidence against Gregory, his solicitor demands his release. As Mickey drives Robbie home, they realise that Gregory's solicitor, Warren Napier, is in the paedophile ring as well. The pair break into Napier's house, and find a frightened little African girl in an attic room. As they try to es

DC Mickey Webb and Robbie Cryer attempt to escape from Warren Napier's house with little girl Abeo, but are captured by Ron Gregory and his thugs. A weary DCI Jack Meadows receives Webb's phone message, and he and Supt. Adam Okaro leap into action to find Webb and Cryer before Gregory murders them. A horrific road accident sees a man impaled by a pole, and believing himself to be dying, he confesses to killing his wife and hiding her body. DS Debbie McAllister and DC Ken Drummond discover his wife alive and well, but Peter Wallace's confession may be true after it is revealed he has been married before and his ex-wife had mysteriously disappeared. Tracking Mickey and Robbie through Mickey's mobile phone, the police close in on their location, arriving just in time to arrest Ron Gregory for numerous charges. PC Gemma Osborne is surprised when a former lover turns up at the station with several kids in tow, saying she's left her husband and they can be together at last.

PC Nick Klein and PC Ruby Buxton find Edith Bradley, an elderly woman, wandering alone and frightened on the Coal Lane estate. Moments later, Sgt. Sheelagh Murphy and PC Des Taviner discover an elderly man, Ted Davis, in the same condition. Both refuse police help, despite their flats having been broken into. Klein teams up with Murphy to find out what has happened and why the two are so terrified of the police. PC Jim Carver nearly catches Klein with cocaine in the locker room. When Sgt. Murphy notices the animosity between the two, it isn't before Carver spills the beans about Nick's drug habit. TDC Brandon Kane's ex-wife Tanya arrives at the station, anxious over hate mail she has received. When she meets up with PC Cathy Bradford and metnions a possible reconciliation between herself and Brandon, Cathy lashes out, with fatal consequences.

PC Cathy Bradford looks down in horror at the prone body of TDC Brandon Kane's ex-wife Tanya. After calling an ambulance, Bradford makes a hasty escape from the car park before her Sun Hill colleagues arrive to investigate. PC Cameron Tait's suspiscions are aroused when he discovers the complex's CCTV tapes have been stolen. DS Debbie McAllister suspects Brandon Kane is responsible, and her abrupt line of questioning puts both Kane and DC Ken Drummond off-side. As Kane waits at St Hugh's for news of Tanya's condition, Bradford turns up to work, full of sympathy for Tanya. Only Robbie Cryer has suspiscions, as Cathy Bradford adds lie upon lie, even volunteering to help with the case so she can cover up evidence of her involvement. As Cathy comforts Brandon at the hospital, she is horrified to hear that Tanya's condition is improving and she may recover...

The investigation into the attack on Tanya Fisher continues, with DS Debbie McAllister and DI Will Elvins from MIT having strong suspicions about her ex-husband, TDC Brandon Kane. As PC Cathy Bradford prepares to flee the country, she receives a phone call from PC Polly Page telling her about Kane's questioning. As suspicion begins to fall on her, Bradford arrives at the station and taking a leaf out of DS McAllister's book, tells the investigators that Brandon couldn't have attacked Tanya - he was beating her up at the time, and she is pregnant with his baby.

PC Gemma Osbourne arrests a minor celebrity, Channel London weathergirl Sandie Booth, for shoplifting. While being charged in Custody, Booth overhears a reference to Gemma's sexuality, and it's not long before she's concocted an accusation of indecent assault by Osbourne. A glamourous robbery victim has PC Cameron Tait and PC Gary Best tying themselves in knots trying to impress her. Tait conspires to have Best recalled to the station, and then gives the case some ""special attention"", but when PC Des Taviner is called out to the same house later in the day, he also leaves with a smile on his face. Feeling left out, Best also drops round, but is caught with his pants down when the woman's jealous husband - under surveillance by CID for a brutal beating - turns up. PC Nick Klein is heavily in debt to his drug dealer, Dexter. When he turns up to pay off part of the debt, he meets Dexter's girlfriend Amy - who looks somewhat familiar. The disappearance of a young girl prompts the relief to swallow their pride and call in retired sergeant Bob Cryer, who knows the family better than anyone — but his services are soon dispensed with when it becomes clear that his old-school methods aren't suited to Sun Hill's modern style of policing. Undeterred, the veteran plod teams up with his niece to finish the job, but it appears the suspect may be someone believed to be dead. Meanwhile, Osbourne ponders her future at the station following her brutal attack, and drug-addled Klein looks set to be found out when his colleagues raid the house where he is taking his first dose of crack, with the help of Boyden's daughter Amy.

With a five-year-old girl in hospital having accidentally ingested crack cocaine, the search is on to find her mother—and it's not long before Sgt Matt Boyden realises the missing woman is none other than his own tearaway daughter Amy. But the case takes on a different dimension for PC Gary Best when he discovers that colleague PC Nick Klein was also in the taxi that dropped the little girl off. Back at the station, a thief is at large and new boy PC Cameron Tait is in the frame, while Acting DI Sam Nixon faces facts when her trouble-making teenage daughter is brought in for being drunk and disorderly.

Carver has had enough of Klein's drug problem, and sets up an elaborate trap to catch Nick stealing to feed his habit. Carver and PC Gary Best catch Klein red-handed stealing from Marie Graham's house, but he manages to slip away. Klein goes on a desperate rampage to score his next hit of crack cocaine, but is caught and arrested by Carver as he leaves Amy Boyden's flat. Instead of sacking him, Okaro sends Klein into rehab. It's an eventful day for Matt Boyden. Having discovered the identity of Abi's father, he confronts the girl's mother, his hated colleague Acting DI Sam Nixon, threatening to tell the tearaway teen everything he knows. Then he gets a blast from the past when his own estranged, crack-addicted daughter Amy is found and brought in for questioning. But it soon becomes clear none of these loose ends will ever be tied when the dodgy sergeant answers a seemingly routine callout to a suspect package—only to fall victim to a drive-by shooting. DC Danny Glaze finds Nathan Morley stuck through with a spear, and Mickey Webb and TDC Brandon Kane face a brush with death when an armed gang springs Nathan's brother Prince from a prison transport. Bob Cryer rallies the troops when Sgt. Boyden's unpopularity casts a cloud over his funeral, and Tony Stamp is surprised by the arrival of Cass Rickman's mother. PC Jim Carver helps his girlfriend Marie out with some domestic issues, and is shocked when she proposes marriage.

PC Jim Carver is in a quandry over the marriage proposal from his girlfriend, Marie Graham, which he has just turned down. His old flame, Sgt. June Ackland, is about to return from leave and PC Honey Harman advises him that her astrology book suggests that he steer clear of his colleague and return to Marie. DC Danny Glaze finds himself in a dangerous situation when he goes looking for the gang that have abducted Nathan Morley. PC Des Taviner takes a witness statement from a cabbie, and tries to dissuade him when the cabbie insists on seeing Sgt. Sheelagh Murphy after the interview. Taviner is unaware that the cabbie is Sheelagh's husband Patrick. Sgt. June Ackland arrives back at Sun Hill.

Osbourne finds herself troubled after dealing with an asylum seeker, and finds it difficult to keep her professional and personal objectives separate. Torn between a war-torn Iran and a troublesome Sun Hill estate, Osbourne can't work out what sounds better for the woman and her young daughter. Osbourne is later reprimanded by Gold and warned to stay well away from the situation. Meanwhile, Sharpe and Hunter investigate an alleged assault on a lawyer by a female colleague, but Hunter suspects that ulterior motives are at work. Meanwhile, Ackland's hopes of engagement to Jim are boosted when she finds a ring in his desk, only to be told by Jim that he's engaged to Marie Graham.

Sgt. June Ackland is feeling sheepish about last night's blunder - thinking PC Jim Carver was about to propose, but work beckons. An elderly Czechoslovakian woman is being victimised on the local estate and June feels it is racially motivated. DS Phil Hunter and DC Eva Sharpe are puzzled when solicitor Robert Fenn withdraws his assault complaint against colleague Kim Bradbury, but then they discover Kim has resigned. Eva confesses she visited the seedy bar where Robert and his friends hang out and where the assault happened and she convinces Phil that they're dealing drugs. Cameron Tait goes undercover to check out the action, gets the evidence and they raid the bar. PC Gemma Osbourne is determined to help Ziba and her daughter Niki and can't even conceive of their returning to Iran, but at what cost to her career? Having already been warned off by Insp. Gold, her conscience gets the better of her, and she helps the woman escape. A screaming match ensues and Gemma is given her marching

Sun Hill officers investigate a series of assaults on homeless people in the area, but when social worker Clare Johnson is brutally attacked, the prime suspect is cabbie Patrick Murphy - Sgt. Sheelagh Murphy's husband. Despite warnings to tread softly from DCI Meadows, DS Debbie McAllister is sure Murphy is her man, with little regard for her colleague's sensibilities. PC Des Taviner and PC Luke Ashton have their hands full when two elderly men fight over some misplaced books.

PC Luke Ashton is first on the scene of a horrific car crash, but is shocked to hear a familiar voice when his backup arrives - Sun Hill's new sergeant: Dale Smith. Smith takes a huge risk when he and Luke rescue a boy trapped in the car, a fact which does not escape the notice of Insp. Gina Gold, who is already well aware of Smiffy's reputation from his last posting to Sun Hill. Linking the boy and the car to a local gay nightclub, Smiffy believes the club is pimping underage rent boys, but his brusque manner sees a complaint brought up against him by the club's owner. Sgt Sheelagh Murphy regains consciousness in the back of the stolen cab and texts PC Des Taviner her whereabouts. She escapes, only to be recaptured, but Des arrives in time to disarm her attacker. Relieved that they have actually caught their man, Sheelagh tells Des how grateful she is he helped clear her husband's name. Sgt Dale Smith and PC Cameron Tait stake out a local club where they suspect manager David Wemmick is running rent boys. Cameron poses as a client, and rent boy Justin gives him an address where he finds enough evidence for a raid. While waiting for Tait, Smith sees PC Luke Ashton enter the gay club with a male companion. After the raid, the rent boys are using the same number to call 'home' - a number that belongs to the club's barman, Colin Meakes. Now it's a matter of convincing Justin to help them. A leather-clad biker who turns up at the station turns out to be the new Detective Constable, Juliet Becker, who is paired with Mickey Webb when PC Gary Best realises that four Sun Hill officers have gone missing. It's a race against time, as a gas leak threatens the trapped officers, but Webb and Becker manage to rescue them in the nick of time. Despite his discussions with June Ackland in the cellar in which she asks him to call off the wedding, Jim and Marie get married. PC Luke Ashton is terrified that Sgt Dale Smith will ""out"" him to the rest of the relief - Smithy is non-committal, but it's Ashton's estranged wife Kerry Young who reveals his secret at Jim's wedding reception.

A furious DCI Jack Meadows finds DC Ken Drummond asleep at his desk, and also hauls DS's Debbie McAllister and Phil Hunter over the coals for failing to meet their crime targets. Deeply in debt to Hunter, Drummond is moonlighting as a security guard for Mortis Security - a private security firm which has taken over ""looking after"" the Coal Lane Estate. As Mortis boss Alan Trent moves into the ward office previously occupied by PC Des Taviner, DCI Meadows and Supt. Adam Okaro begin to suspect that Trent's company is causing many of the crimes they claim to prevent, as well as racially harassing black residents. PC Cathy Bradford turns a blind eye to Trent's methods. When DS Hunter discovers Drummond's second job, he threatens to spill the beans, which could cost Ken his job. DS McAllister and DC Juliet Becker are paired when a young mother, Lindsey Holland, and her son are run off the road. DS Phil Hunter tells his bosses about DC Ken Drummond's moonlighting as a security guard - DCI Jack Meadows and Supt. Adam Okaro tell him to forget it, but secretly plan to use Ken to get the evidence they need on Alan Trent, so posing a bent copper, Drummond manages to convince Trent to rehire him. Trent meanwhile, has charmed DS Debbie McAllister into a dinner date, which he uses to question her about her supposedly corrupt colleague. Concerned with Trent's moving in on the estates, the Borough Commander, Okaro and Meadows organise a residents' meeting on the Jasmine Allen which is interrupted by three armed men in masks. Forensics of the shots fired indicates a flood of converted replica firearms on the estates. Sun Hill comes under fire from a gun epidemic due to the illegal firearms flooding the area, and Webb is convinced that Trent is the cause. As he and Drummond investigate Trent's activities, Drummond comes across an arms cache. McAllister finds solace in her boyfriend Michael, surprised at how much interest he is showing in her. However, Webb's investigation throws up some interesting facts and McAllister puts her life at risk after making the alarming discovery about who her boyfriend really is. It's the end of the road for Ashton when he comes face to face with an armed teenager in a local mini mart. Page finds herself falling in love again after getting emotionally involved with Dr. Owen Preston.

PC Reg Hollis intervenes when he sees a trio of youths harassing a bus driver, but the situation takes a dangerous turn when one of the youths pulls out a gun, and they hijack the bus with Hollis, the driver and a busload of terrified passengers. The gun is one of Alan Trent's replicas from the Coal Lane estate, and it backfires, hitting the driver. PCs Best and Harman spot the runaway bus, but their moment of glory is lost when PC Taviner and Sgt Murphy take over the pursuit in the area car. A man is found beaten in the street, with PC Polly Page's friend Dr Owen Preston tending to him. When it is revealed that this was the man who killed Preston's wife in a drink-driving accident, to Page's horror he becomes the prime suspect. When the victim revives, he clears Preston of any wrongdoing, but Page's decision to help Preston end his life could have far-reaching consequences. CSU gains a new officer - sexual offences expert DC Ramani De Costa, who hasn't even reached the station when she is assigned to investigate the alleged rape of a university student. Acting DI Samantha Nixon has her hands full when a daring armed robbery is carried out on Sun Hill's patch, but as Nixon takes on the case, she is distracted by the presence of reporter Dougie Pritchard, who threatens to reveal the father of Nixon's daughter Abigail, a fact passed on to him by the late Sgt Matt Boyden. Sgt Sheelagh Murphy betrays more than professional concern when shots are fired as PC Des Taviner pursues the armed robbers.

DC Danny Glaze returns to Sun Hill, and as he is still assigned to CSU, assists DC Ramani De Costa and PC Cathy Bradford in investigating the student rape case. CSU's prime suspect is union bar manager Keiran Thompson, but they have no firm evidence or testimony as the victim Izzy Scott was drugged before she was attacked. When Thompson is assaulted, De Costa realises this might not be the rapist's first offence, and their discovery of a previous victim reveals videotapes of the rapes - filmed by Izzy's so-called best friend Emma. With Acting DI Samantha Nixon distracted by Dougie Pritchard's threats to reveal Abi's parentage, DS Phil Hunter relentlessly pursues his theory that the armed robbery was an inside job, but he may have pushed too hard when the bank security guard kills himself. Nixon is forced to reveal to Abigail that her father is convicted child murderer Glenn Weston, but when Weston turns up at the station, she is unable to avoid father and daughter meeting face to face.

Acting DI Sam Nixon hustles Abigail and Glenn Weston into the station as reporter Dougie Pritchard approaches with a camera. Nixon wants Abi to have nothing to do with Weston, but he is insistent, and she agrees to meet with him to discuss terms. DS Phil Hunter uses Nixon's personal crisis to go over her head to DCI Jack Meadows to approve surveillance on Sid Wright, a security guard he believes is involved in the armed hold-up. Hunter's persistance pays off when it transpires Wright is planning a raid on the Metropolitan Police warehouse, and DC Ken Drummond is hastily drafted back into his undercover security guard persona. New PC Gabriel Kent starts at Sun Hill, but despite his age and ambition, his ""puppywalker"" PC Tony Stamp shows no mercy from the usual jokes played on probationers. PC Des Taviner confronts Sgt Sheelagh Murphy with his feelings for her, and despite her initial objections, the two end up going home together.

DC Ken Drummond's attempts to gain the confidence of Sid Wright are getting nowhere, but Drummond literally plays his last hand when he follows Wright and gatecrashes a private poker game between Wright and the Fosters. A drunken brawl outisde a pub turns nasty when Sgt Sheelagh Murphy finds a boy beaten badly on the street. Feeling guilty at having let the suspects off with a warning earlier, Murphy tackles the case on her own rather than handing it over to CID. After their night of passion, a smitten PC Des Taviner will do anything for her - but Murphy's doubts and guilt over their affair could put a crimp in Taviner's ardour. Acting DI Samantha Nixon reluctantly organises a meeting between her daughter Abigail and Abi's father, Glenn Weston, but it all goes horribly wrong when the father of the child Weston murdered arrives and attacks him in front of waiting press cameras. DC Ken Drummond's cover as a security guard has been blown, and he's been taken hostage by the Foster family. Archie Foster wants Drummond to help them raid the Metropolitan Police warehouse to steal millions of pounds worth of luxury sports cars - and as an incentive, he threatens Ken's family - both of Ken's families. Drummond's absence at the station goes unnoticed at first: Acting DI Samantha Nixon's family troubles come to a head, and after a confrontation with her daughter, Nixon decides to resign from the police to prove her love for her daughter, and uniform are kept busy by a series of bomb hoaxes organised by Foster. With the raid underway, Foster's plans begin to unravel - Drummond has to knock a fellow security guard unconscious, as well as put off a curious DS Debbie McAllister and DC Juliet Becker who turn up looking for him. As Foster and his gang make their escape, internal rivalries and a counter-raid by a rival gang see the body count rise ever higher, and DC Drummond

Drummond is taken to hospital following the shooting, but decides to discharge himself when he discovers that his son, Alex, has been kidnapped by the Fosters. Meanwhile, Okaro is furious after reading the news stories featuring Nixon and Glenn Weston, and whilst being left with the backlash from the robbery operation going belly up, Okaro pulls Nixon off the case and forces her to take two weeks sick leave. Nixon decides to prove to her daughter that despite all of the recent events, she does love her and does care about her. Meanwhile, an audacious Young is called to deal with a vicious catfight between two young girls, and suspects that she may have stumbled on a prostitution ring.

Drummond escapes from hospital to find his son Alex, and doesn't waste any time in recruiting Best to assist his search. When he manages to locate Vince Foster, Foster informs him that the only way he will ever see his son again is if he delivers him Sid Wright on a plate. Meanwhile, Taviner and Murphy attend to a disturbance at a local brothel, but their own personal feelings for each other begin to get in the way of their work. Hunter and Becker discover the location of the car gang's hideout. Page attends Dr. Owen Preston's funeral, but during her speech, nearly blurts out that she was present when Owen committed suicide, until an audacious Bradford manages to step in and save her.

Despite delivering the goods as planned, Foster demands that Drummond finds the men who murdered his father - and his missing cargo of stolen cars - in return for his son's safety. With little information to go on, Smithy goes undercover as a prisoner to find out exactly where the stolen cars are being hidden. When Taviner and Murphy begin the search for a missing prostitute, they uncover an underage prostitution ring run by a known pimp, who low and behold, was interviewed by Young the previous day. An intrigued Hollis tries to find out the identity of the new woman in Taviner's life. Murphy feels she's been taken for a fool when Hollis tells her that Taviner has told him about his relationship.

Young girls arriving from the North at London's Kings Cross Station are being forced into underage prostitution rings from which they cannot escape. Main suspect John Rutherford is believed to be based in Canley, so Sun Hill officers team up with British Transport Police to track him down. PC Gary Best goes undercover at the station, watched by a police surveillance teams. He rescues a young girl, Lorna, from a mugger and the two get on well. The pair are approached by Rutherford, who suggests they stay at a squat he knows. Gary is suspiscious, but doesn't want to leave Lorna in Rutherford's clutches. However, when the support team lose sight of him, Gary is in way over his head. At the squat, he is drugged and wakes up with no memory of the previous night when PCs Des Taviner and Reg Hollis raid the house. As Gary struggles to come to terms with the fact that he may have been raped, PC Honey Harman discovers Lorna is not the innocent girl she appears to be. Supt. Adam Okaro comes unde

Ackland finds she is becoming too personally involved with the domestic violence case when she tries to protect victim Monica Skinner from her husband, Sean, by forcing her to testify against him. When Monica and her boyfriend are found attacked, suspicion immediately falls on Sean, but Carver isn't too sure. Buxton finds herself having to lie in her statement when she naively purchases cheap electrical goods from an old friend, later to discover they are stolen. A drug dealer is brought in for questioning and offers to provide information on Klein in return for a deal. Okaro catches Murphy in throes of passion with Taviner, and is accused of being soft on prostitution by a local councillor.

Ackland finds herself caught up in a difficult situation when her professionalism is called to into question following Monica Skinner's suicide, and her position as the head of CSU is called into doubt. Meanwhile, Stamp and Hollis find themselves having a slow day, and find that the most exciting thing for them to do is to help accompany an elderly couple to church. Tait is surprised when he is called to the scene of a general robbery and finds that his ex-girlfriend, and the mother of his child, is working there. As well as having to deal with the fall-out, his day turns from bad to worse when he discovers that his daughter, Emily, might be in danger from his ex-girlfriend's new partner, Mark Davies.

On her first day back in uniform, Sgt June Ackland finds a man brutally stabbed in the house of prominent CPS prosecutor Carl Harris. Arresting Harris for GBH, they find back at the station that Supt Adam Okaro has some history with him - Harris threw out an assault case Okaro had worked on, and Okaro suspects he is corrupt. Harris's daughter Natasha stays quiet, and it is clear she knows more than she is letting on. Acting DI Samantha Nixon investigates a fraud case Carl Harris was prosecuting, but Ackland convinces Natasha to reveal the truth - the victim was her biological father, and had been blackmailing Carl. PC Cameron Tait takes desperate action when he thinks his daughter Emily might be in danger from her mother's boyfriend, Mark Davies. When Davies ends up in hospital after a mysterious assault, PC Gary Best looks on in horror as Tait bundles Emily into a minicab and speeds away...

Tait, after abducting his own daughter, Emily, decides to return to Australia, but realises that he is making the wrong decision and decides to return to Sun Hill. Best, suspicious that Mark Davies will refuse to name his attacker, decides to keep a close eye on Tait. When Mark Davies is discharged from hospital, he is involved in a hit-and-run, and later dies in hospital of his injuries, but Best discovers a link to a violent loan shark. Webb investigates when a man is found injured in a woman's home in mysterious circumstances. Meadows does all he can to prevent Rachel Heath from being charged with GBH, but when the victim presses charges, he finds that the matter is out of his hands.

PC Polly Page's horrible cousin Michelle turns up at Sun Hill, to report she is being stalked. Despite Michelle's obstructiveness, Polly manages to convince PC Cathy Bradford to get some information out of her so they can find the suspect. DCI Jack Meadows does all he can to prevent Rachel Heath from being charged with GBH, and when the victim presses charges, the matter is out of his hands. Sgt. June Ackland feels her age when she falls behind while chasing a bag snatcher. When an elderly lady is struck by a car and later dies in hospital, Ackland realises the dead woman could be the mother of DC Mickey Webb. DS Phil Hunter convinces DC Juliet Becker to tell his wife she was the cop having an affair with Heather Rayner, not him. DS Phil Hunter and DC Eva Sharpe investigate an assault case, where a man's football career has been ruined by an apparent deliberate foul. They arrest the suspect after viewing a videotape of the match, but bringing him back to Sun Hill, they are surprised to find out he is PC Honey Harman's fiancÃ. Harman risks her career to save ""her Fletch"" and hides the videotape evidence in her locker. No one is surprised when DC Mickey Webb turns up to work despite the death of his mother the day before. DCI Jack Meadows tries to distract him with another case, but Webb is determined to track down the driver who killed his mother. Arresting a drunk driver, Webb thinks he has his man, but a woman turns up at the station to admit she was the driver. At Webb's encouragement, DC Juliet Becker uses a young prostitute as bait in a big drugs sting. When the woman goes missing, Webb checks her escort agency's website and is stunned to see DCI Meadows' new girlfriend is a prostitute. Sgt. Dale Smith and

On her way into the station, Insp. Gina Gold is involved in a minor traffic accident when a white van cuts her off. When the police arrive, it is a horrified PC Gary Best who is forced to breathalyse his Inspector - when the test is postitive, Best is forced to arrest her for driving under the influence. Sgt Dale Smith, realising that Gold's condition is due to him cheating in their drinking contest conspires with Best to rig the test by using Gary's breath sample. When Gold works out what they've done, she is furious that they have implicated her in a conspiracy. DC Juliet Becker goes to the house of her friend and former lover Heather Rayner, who has left her violent husband after he raped her - but the unexpected arrival of Heather's husband sees Becker knocked unconscious and abducted.

Becker regrets her attempts to help out her married lesbian lover after her husband vows to get his revenge. After being taken to an empty house which is under construction, Becker suspects that Gavin's motives may involve the same treatment which he gave to his wife. McAllister manages to track down her missing colleague, and the pair manage to overpower him and take him into custody. Meanwhile, Smithy and Young are in pursuit of a drug dealer, when the suspect runs straight into the path of McAllister's oncoming car. When McAllister goes to check on Gavin, he escapes her clutches and leads her and Becker to a warehouse. The pair soon face an investigation when Gavin falls to his death.

Taviner and Young end up pursuing a speeding car after responding to a burglary call, and discover that the car has been stolen by the masked driver. Taviner matches the MO to a number of similar cases in the area, and decides to challenge a group of young joyriders who seem to be giving him the runaround. When the leader of the gang turns up at the station and gives false information to Smithy, Taviner arrives at the suspect's reported location to find himself in the middle of an ambush. He pushes Smithy to set up an obbo, but when he refuses, he goes over his head to Gold to get the obbo authorised. During the obbo, Taviner is distracted, and watches on as the Area Car speeds out of sight.

A stunned PC Des Taviner catches Sgt. Dale Smith and PC Kerry Young in a passionate clinch in the back of a car during an obbo on a gang of teenage joyriders - so stunned that he leaves the keys in the Area Car, and is horrified to see Sierra One roaring out of sight with a young boy at the wheel. When the car turns up vandalised, Taviner is determined to catch the boy responsible, but with no evidence, Taviner borrows a 'stinger' from traffic and lies in wait at the location of the next joyride. Sgt June Ackland convinces Julie Lewis to help the police sting a big drug buy, but Julie's husband Eddie is shot dead by SO19 when one of the dealers pulls a gun. PC Ruby Buxton decides to resign after committing perjury, despite PC Gabriel Kent's pleas. As the police rush to a bomb scare at the local cinema, Kent watches as Buxton leaves her resignation letter on Insp. Gold's desk. A furious DCI Jack Meadows is about to arrest DC Mickey Webb for an assault on his girlfriend, Rachel Heath, but Heath stops him, knowing that revealing their relationship would end Meadows' career. Insp. Gina Gold leads a team searching a cinema for a hidden bomb, with the help of two ushers. When the bomb explodes, PC Honey Harman is critically injured - when PC Ruby Buxton finds usher Stephen at Honey's bedside, she knows something's up, and manages to talk Stephen down from setting off another bomb. Despite her bravery, and sick of being pressured by the unscrupulous PC Gabriel Kent, Buxton admits her perjury to Insp. Gold and tenders her resignation.

PC Nick Klein is back on the beat after his spell in rehab for drug addiction, and not many people are pleased to see him back, but Klein is eager to show he has reformed and is up to the pressures of the job. Paired with PC Gary Best, they attend a break-in at a young woman's flat, which seems to be part of a campaign of harrassment by property developer Charles Vanderbilt to force two women to sell their flats to him. Reluctant to testify, but holding out for more money, the women stay put, until an arson attack takes place with fatal consequences. Acting DI Samantha Nixon investigates a different series of burglaries, and when the latest victim is DCI Jack Meadows estranged wife Laura, the link is revealed to be an internet dating agency which all the women used. PC Gabriel Kent uses his knowledge of Insp Gina Gold's drink driving to blackmail her into putting him forward for an advanced driving course at Hendon. DC Eva Sharpe is having problems at home.

McAllister acts as a decoy to catch property developer Charles Vanderbilt in the act, but is taken aback when one of Vanderbilt's henchmen lobs a grenade through the window of the stake-out flat. Hunter asks Tait and Klein to keep an eye on Vanderbilt's right-hand man, and tail him following an altercation. When Klein corners Vanderbilt's second-in-command, Jim Conrad, the ensuing events once again leave Klein with trouble looming. Meanwhile, Nixon manages to persuade Ackland to go undercover to attract the online-ad burglar, and Stamp and Kent try to identify a young boy who has found unconscious in the street, having been the victim of an overdose of ecstasy.

DS Phil Hunter has PC Nick Klein in his clutches again when he forces Klein and PC Tait to lie to Acting DI Samanatha Nixon about the circumstances of Jim Conrad's injuries. When Matthew Easton's brother dies after taking his drugs, Easton attacks his dealer, and both are arrested. When DC Eva Sharpe sees the dealer at the station, she realises her bad-boy lover Tyler may have compromised her, and she admits all to Nixon. Supt. Okaro is determined to nail property developer Charles Vanderbilt before he can get planning approval for the flat redevelopment. His officers nearly succeed in getting Carol Evans and Sandra Yorke to testify, but DC Danny Glaze and Okaro have a lucky break when they arrest Vanderbilt on Customs and Immigration charges when he ""imports"" prostitutes and drugs from Eastern Europe on his private plane. Sgt. June Ackland goes ahead with the sting operation on the internet dating burgler, but is shocked when Laura Meadows arrives at Sun Hill to report that she has be

Ackland consoles Meadows' broken wife Laura when she informs her that she has been raped. The case is immediately referred to Barton Street, where sexual offences expert Terry Perkins deals with the case. A search of the crime scene reveals a lost driving licence belonging to Keith Brennan, the prime suspect in the string of online-ad burglaries back at Sun Hill. When Webb discovers Brennan is in custody elsewhere, his digging to discover why leads him to accidentally break the news to an unsuspecting Meadows. Meanwhile, Klein and Tait solve a spate of muggings involving skateboards and a stun gun, and Best is furious when Harman invites his father to a surprise birthday party.

Preoccupied with her 'best friend' Polly's arrest, PC Cathy Bradford visits Polly's boyfriend Max, implying to him that he may have been her next victim. Bradford ignores the urgent calls of domestic violence victim Paula Robinson and her son as the woman is brutally beaten by her husband. The woman's young son volunteers to act as bait for the father when he eludes the police, and DS Ramani De Costa begins to have serious doubts about Bradford. PC Gary Best is horrified that he knocked back PC Honey Harman the previous night, whilst DS Debbie McAllister and DC Juliet Becker argue after their night together. Polly Page is questioned at Barton Street by DCI Ross from MIT. Ignoring her solicitor's advice, she admits to assisting Owen Preston's suicide. To the shock of Polly and her colleagues, the CPS charges her with murder. Now working as a CAD Officer, Robbie Cryer realises that Bradford's deceit has been responsible for the assault on Paula, and threatens to tell all to Supt. Okaro.

Insp. Gina Gold has no choice but to suspend Robbie Cryer following PC Cathy Bradford's hospitalisation, and Robbie is escorted from the station. Desperate to save her job, Robbie calls on her uncle, Bob Cryer, and the pair do some investigation into Cathy's lies. Sandra Malik, the doctor who Bradford harrassed and framed, has moved to Australia, so they track down Petra McAvoy, who Cathy beat up in the interview room. Petra is only too happy to make a statement, but once again, her evidence is called into question. PC Gabriel Kent ignores PC Des Taviner's advice when he sympathises with a depressed father and helps him get bail, but Kent's good deed has tragic and fatal consequences. Polly Page's bail hearing is refused, and she is sent to prison pending trial.

Best and Harman finds themselves in an unexpected passionate clinch whilst searching for a madman who has been brandishing a sword. McAllister and Hunter begin to find mutual attraction to one another as they investigate a car ringing scam. The CID love triangle begins to hot up as Becker notices Hunter and McAllister's behaviour towards one another. Smithy is outraged when Okaro accuses him of racism. Murphy begins to suffer from morning sickness, and worries about telling Taviner. Page begins to adjust to life in prison.

DCs Eva Sharpe and Ken Drummond investigate when a black man is set alight on the Jasmine Allen estate, and a graffiti tag on a nearby wall leads them to Brad Kelso, one of a gang of youths who don't hesitate to make racist comments to DC Sharpe. Meanwhile, Smithy has problems of his own to contend with as he fights to prove to Okaro that he's not a racist. DC Mickey Webb decides to go after Delaney. He sets about tracking by getting to know more about him, while other officers just want to catch him. Webb strikes lucky with Delaney's prison padre and goes in search of a lead on the man who raped Delaney in prison. He comes across Delaney in a park and after a confrontation, chases him. Delaney is caught and charged but has no intention of leaving Mickey out of it and tells the officers he raped him. Danny Glaze is long gone, as DCI Meadows discovers when he receives Glaze's warrant card in the post. Hemingway and Klein find a teenage girl being harrassed, and when a cyclist is hit by a stolen car during a chase with police, the prime suspect is one of the girl gang - Beth Tyler - the reluctant witness in a rape case several months previously. Sheelagh Murphy tells PC Des Taviner she is going to leave her husband for him - but Taviner has other matters on his mind. PC Reg Hollis warns his friend that PI Sally Johnson is closer to the truth about the Sun Hill fire than ever, and at a memorial ceremony for the officers who died that day, Taviner is too overcome with guilt to make a speech. Determined to be honest with Murphy, Taviner admits he framed Jeff Simpson for the fire, but Johnson tells DCI Jack Meadows that Taviner's involvement may go further than that.

With the guilt of what he has done weighing heavily on his mind, PC Des Taviner admits to Sgt. Sheelagh Murphy his part in the Sun Hill fire which killed six of his colleagues. To his horror, Murphy demands he turn himself in or she will do it for him. Instead, she calls her husband Patrick and admits her affair, saying she is leaving him for Des. Alan Best tells Insp. There are complications when the suspect swallows his tongue in custody. Best comes face-to-face with his father's murderer and during a rooftop tussle when Ellis escapes from an open custody door, Ellis falls to his death with Gary on top of him. Carver and Ackland reminisce over their twenty years of service together at Sun Hill when he is in hospital after being assaulted by his drunken wife, Marie. Murphy sees Taviner in the yard, and realizes he is alive. Webb returns to collect his belongings and reveals that he has transferred to the Murder Investigation Team, but has a frosty reception due to his rape by Martin Delaney, but tells his former colleagues to ignore it.

McAllister and Hunter investigate a serious assault on a prostitute, while Okaro is forced to deal with National Party councillor Nicola Marsh, who is trying to raise racial tensions by highlighting an increase in black-on-white crime. Best recovers in hospital after throwing Jules Ellis to his death from the station roof, and falling off himself. McAllister is saddened to discover that Becker died the night before, and Sun Hill deal with the fallout due to the death of the suspect, who swallowed his tongue in custody. Murphy admits to Okaro that Taviner was responsible for the Sun Hill firebombing when forensics discover that he wasn't killed in the Area Car warehouse explosion. Page is found guilty and sentenced to life in prison. Kent gets close to Ackland.

Des Taviner and Reg Hollis are in the Area Car enjoying the warm weather when Sergeant Craig Gilmore surprises them. He is unimpressed with their excuses and orders them to remove their sunglasses and get back to work. As they drive around, Hollis reveals that he is planning to propose to his girlfriend Helen. Unfortunately they are not currently on the best of terms having rowed after Hollis declined Helen's invitation to join her at a conference in Southend. PCs Dave Quinnan and Polly Page are searching for Shauna Russell, a young woman with Down's Syndrome who has been reported missing by her mother, Annie and sister Natalie. They finally find her in an underground car park but are concerned by her dishevelled state. Despite protests from Annie, her daughter is examined by the police Doctor, Sue Marton. Shauna complains of feeling sick and when gently questioned it soon becomes obvious that she is pregnant. A test confirms this and the Doctor tells DI Alex Cullen that Shauna is probably three or four months gone but is unsure how much of her condition she actually understands. It cannot yet be determined whether she was assaulted or the intercourse was consensual. The news of the pregnancy leaves Annie dumbstruck whilst Natalie is disturbed by the thought that her sister may have been raped. In interview Shauna is reticent but mentions John, a fellow member of a club she attends, whom she describes as rude. However, when Cullen meets John

New PC Cathy Bradford goes in with guns blazing after graves are desecrated, but soon finds herself locking horns with a furious Dave Quinnan. [Source: Radio Times]

At her local gym PC Cathy Bradford is concerned that Marti Hunt is being worked too hard by her father Barry Hunt who is also the owner. As she leaves, Bradford agrees to keep an eye out for a petty thief who has been targeting the gym. Back at the station PC Dave Quinnan mentions to PC Tony Stamp that he is thinking of asking out Liz Terry from the Day Centre. Stamp is sceptical and encourages a wary Polly Page to check Liz's history on the police computer. Page is left with a dilemma when the results reveal that Liz used to be a prostitute. Meanwhile a reluctant PC Jim Carver has joined Bradford's gym. He is immediately suspicious that bodybuilder Jay Cutler could be the thief especially when he later sees Cutler selling steroids in the changing room. However, closer inspection of another gym member Andy Little leads to the case taking an unexpected twist.

Boyden attends the scene of an RTA involving an HGV and discovers fridge/freezers with holes in bottom. Stamp and Quinnan come across a group of men wandering away from the crash, however only one is arrested. Upon his arrival to custody, he asks to speak to Conway, revealing he is an immigration officer from France and he was onboard the crashed truck with a group of immigrants.

Page and Quinnan pose as a married couple running a hotel, while Carver and Hollis, and immigration agent Petrit, pose as their employees. Stamp continues his undercover role as an HGV driver for the firm bringing in the illegals, while Webb, Lennox and McAllister maintain surveillance on the hotel. The hotel is busy preparing for its opening night, and when the temporary staff arrive, Quinnan seizes the opportunity to attract Berisha's attention by ringing the agency and complaining about them. Later, Stamp makes a delivery to the hotel – four refugees who are immediately set to work. He then picks up his boss Kerns and drives him to a lorry park, where he finds twenty scared refugees and a decomposing body.

The operation appears to be in jeopardy again when Petrit declares that he is going in search of his missing sister. Following a lead from a girl at a café, he and Carver visit a pool hall, but have no joy with the doorman. Page meets up with Cullen to give him an update, and tells him that she is convinced that they are being set up for extortion by Berisha. Her suspicions are later confirmed when Berisha presents Quinnan with a bill for excess staff. Initially, he refuses to pay, until Berisha starts to strangle him, watched by a helpless Webb and Lennox. A determined Petrit plans to return as a punter to the pool hall where his sister may be, which is identified as a brothel.

Accompanied by Hollis, Petrit manages to locate his sister Nicola, who has been working as a prostitute for Berisha. Her colleagues at the brothel rumble them when Petrit refuses to leave his sister, forcing Hollis to blow his cover and call in his colleagues to raid the place. As Quinnan and Page try to save the operation, they find their old passion reviving as they settle into their roles as a husband and wife. Stamp is furious to discover CID have a camera in Quinnan and Page's bedroom, but his shock is compounded by seeing them in a passionate clinch. Quinnan receives a life changing offer, and he stuns Page with a massive offer.

Page reels following her proposal from Quinnan, but is left torn by his threats to accept his transfer offer to SO10 if she turns him down. As immigration wrap up the case, Berisha shows up armed and holds Quinnan, Page, Stamp, Carver and Hollis hostage, leaving Conway tasked with negotiating.

When Bradford's new roommate is badly beaten outside a local hotel, she goes all out to nail the culprit. Meanwhile, Stamp and Page investigate complaints of credit card fraud in the area, with a devastated Page finding herself taking her eye off the ball following her breakup with Quinnan.

Webb and Spears pursue a stolen car across the Jasmine Allen Estate and discover guns under the seat. The car is traced to recently released convict, Michael Bowker. When questioned, Bowker claims to have no knowledge of the weapons. Webb photographs Bowker handing over large wads of cash to a blonde woman, whom Meadows recognises as Angie Weller, wife of imprisoned super-grass Jimmy Weller.

Carver and Ackland investigate a series of burglaries, where all of the homeowners have booked holidays with a particular travel agent. Carver is aware of the criminal history of one of the employees, and immediately suspects that he may be responsible. When the robberies are linked to the man's girlfriend, Carver goes undercover at a dog kennel in an attempt to set a trap for the thief, but his lack of knowledge sees his cover blown.

Stamp and Rickman pursue a stolen Porsche to a lock-up, where they find a number of false plates being applied to stolen high-end vehicles. Stamp and Rickman are suspicious when one of the victims, an accountant, has not reported his car missing.
