Working alongside our Aussie lifeguards in red and yellow, the teams take on some of the toughest surf conditions and complete a rigorous series of challenges to receive their next clue.

Leg 3

Seeking help from the locals for an iconic outback challenge, the Dunny Derby, their newfound friends must take their place on the 'throne' for a race across town.

Leg 4

The teams take on new heights when they touch down in Townsville, where one teammate must conquer all fears and abseil down a 100-metre cliff face to capture the clue.

Leg 5

They might be in a tropical island paradise but it's not all sunshine and rainbows as the teams' endurance is put to the test in an epic challenge of strength and resilience on a barge off the shore.

Leg 6

Like castaways left at sea, the teams are left with only a simple treasure map and a cryptic message in a bottle to guide them towards the finish line at the sixth pit stop of the competition.

Leg 7

At the start of the day, the teams are left speechless when Beau reveals a shock twist that will change the state of play for the entire race.

Leg 8

The race accelerates to new heights when the teams must attempt an epic underwater helicopter escape challenge in one of the most terrifying tests of the race so far.

Leg 9

When strong winds take a stunning hot air balloon ride off course, the teams brace themselves for the twists and turns of the ninth leg of the race.

Leg 10

Travelling in style, the teams arrive in Coober Pedy via the legendary train expedition The Ghan, and are confronted by a huge surprise that will change the game.

Leg 11

A detour has the teams explore the historic German town of Hahndorf as they must choose between slap or snag in a hilarious Bavarian bonanza.

Leg 12

The teams must brave the freezing cold water in an ambitious challenge that sees them work alongside research scientists who are studying the endangered Australian sea lion.

Leg 13

In an epic challenge of brains versus brawn, a detour divides the teams as they are faced with a challenge that tests their physical, mental and tactical skills in order to receive their next clue.

Leg 14

The teams must complete a painstakingly meticulous task in order to receive their next clue in the race.

Leg 15

The teams are faced with completing a puzzling game of cat-and-mouse as they must follow the map that will unlock the key towards the next pit stop of the race.

Leg 16

For their first challenge, the teams make their way to Australia's first legal casino and take a gamble at building an epic house of cards that must be five storeys 

Leg 17

At the impressive Strathgordon Dam, the teams must embrace their inner athlete and dunk a basketball into an oversized hoop on the dam wall in order to receive their next clue in the race.

Leg 18

Starting in Hobart, the teams head back in time at the historic town of Ross as they must compete in a gruelling challenge of strength and stamina while shackled and dressed as convicts.

Leg 19

In a series of quirky challenges, the teams' patience is tested as completing the peculiar tasks is the only way to reach their next clues in the race.

Leg 20

A final nail-bitting Road Block forces the teams to walk across a suspended ladder bridge that hangs 80m off the ground and into the abyss of the mountains.

Leg 21

In their first challenge, the teams are locked up in the Old Dubbo Gaol. To receive their next clue they must plan the ultimate prison break and evade the ever vigilant guards.

Leg 22

An ultimate Aussie challenge is the only thing standing in the teams' way, as they all must hilariously do an epic 'shoey' out of a women's high heeled boot in the race to the next Pit Stop.

Leg 23

In the race to the next Pit Stop, the teams need to muster the courage and embrace their inner performer as they hit the stage singing, dancing, and even completing one hell of a Hollywood stunt.

Grand finale

In the final leg, the teams travel from Sydney, to Canberra, and then up to the Snowy Mountains for the epic race to the finish line.

Episode 1

Leg 1 (South Korea). Hosted by television's loveable loose-cannon Beau Ryan, 22 Aussie hopefuls will tackle trains, planes and camels as they ping-pong across the world in pursuit of the $250,000 cash prize.

Episode 2

Leg 2 (South Korea). Teams will need to choose their challenges wisely when an obstacle course or a skill testing drone flight are on the table. The last team to arrive at the Pitstop may be eliminated.

Episode 3

Leg 3 (South Korea → Vietnam). Teams must head to a local puppet theatre to get their clues for the next destination before having to undertake an eating challenge which is not for the faint hearted.

Episode 4

Leg 4 (Vietnam). The contestants find themselves battling as much with the heat as with each other. It's a mad dash to the end as the teams do all they can to avoid being eliminated from the race.

Episode 5

Leg 5 (Vietnam → Mongolia). The race is well and truly underway as the remaining teams land in Mongolia. All hell breaks lose as the teams try to milk goats, herd sheep and ride camels across the sand dunes.

Episode 6

Leg 6 (Mongolia). The teams IKEA skills are put to the test as they must deliver and assemble goods to a local market. Unfortunately, for one team, it's the end of the race and the end of their shot at $250,000.

Episode 7

Leg 7 (Mongolia → Zimbabwe → Zambia). The final six teams make their way through Zimbabwe. Which team will be first to the Pitstop and which team will have to kiss their shot at $250,000 goodbye?

Episode 8

Leg 8 (Zambia → Zimbabwe). Teams race through the challenges, but for those afraid of heights, swinging over a gorge isn't their ideal good time. Will they push themselves or will their hesitation cost them the race?

Episode 9

Leg 9 (Zimbabwe → Malawi). Five teams remain, as they make their way through Malawi and get closer to the winning prize of $250,000. If you can shell peanuts, mould bricks or sew shirts, then this is your leg of the race!

Episode 10

Leg 10 (Malawi). Would you rather spend the day doing laundry by hand or sorting through different species of fish? And what if that decision could cost you $250,000?

Episode 11

Leg 11 (Malawi → Thailand). The final four teams make their way to Thailand. Teams are faced with their toughest eating challenge yet, with every contestant having to take part in order to get their next clue.

Leg 12 (Thailand → Australia).

The new teams, made up of five Australian teams and five New Zealand teams, begin their journey at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.

The remaining teams make their way from Cambodia to Thailand on foot and then have to deal with a long bus ride to get to their destination.

The remaining teams make their way to Namibia in Africa and come face to face with the local wildlife. Tension is running high and threatens to turn physical between Kiwis Jono and Johnny.

Teams are heading for a culture shock when they hit the freezing temperatures of St Petersburg Russia. A task to re-code naval flag signals divides alliances.

With no rest, teams are still racing and heading for central Russia; after a long train trip, they face a nation vs. nation challenge; teams from the losing nation face the prospect of elimination.

There's A Lot of Bones In This, I Really Don't Wanna Die

Teams travel to Lisbon, Portugal where they are put through the basics of singing, counting and reading detail in their clues; newlyweds Ashleigh and Jarrod face the biggest test of their relationship.

I Can't Feel My Nadz!

From Portugal, the teams travel to Croatia and the old city of Dubrovnik where they have trouble negotiating the old cobbled streets. In tests of strength and endurance, only those with focus will achieve.

Dude, We Don't Want To Go To Your House

The teams race across Buenos Aires, Argentina; the teams must tackle preparing a horse for a polo match, tango dancing and locating the city's icons.

At Least We Did Better Than the Kiwis

In the final leg, three Australian teams fly to Los Angeles to battle it out for the chance to win $250,000.

Leg 1

The Amazing Race Australia returns longer, tougher and more challenging than ever as racers vie for the $250,000 prize. Eleven new diverse teams will travel more than 65,000 kilometres across four continents on a route which includes a mix of iconic sites and some very surprising destinations.

Leg 2

The adventure continues as the teams head for India. Sparks fly when one couple struggles to navigate the chaotic streets of Delhi, while another team trips up milking cows. And could a breach of the race rules prove very costly for one pair?

Leg 3

The remaining teams are forced to take on a driving test on the chaotic streets of of Jaipur, India. A run-in with workmates Paul and Steve sees engaged couple Kym and Donna left reeling. An old abyrinthine step-well could prove to be the undoing of one of the teams.

Leg 4

The teams have to race through the deserts of Dubai but getting from A to B could prove to be their greatest challenge yet. After one team is arrested, the idea of making it to the pit stop seems a long way off.

Leg 5

The remaining teams heads to Istanbul and some teams turn on one another while others turn on workmates Paul and Steve. A simple market challenge manages to test the patience of all of the teams. An ancient treasure could be the undoing of one pair of race favourites.

Leg 6

The remaining teams battle it out over the latest leg of the competition as they make their way towards Turkey.

Leg 7

The teams are pleased after they learn that they are heading to Paris and straight into a culinary adventure. There is friction after Joseph and Grace steal Sarah and James' taxi, and the ramifications will still be felt thousands of kilometres away.

Leg 8

Joseph and Grace soon discover that the consequences of 'Taxigate' are far-reaching as they're confronted by James and Sarah in Cuba. A detour which involves two Cuban icons ends with aome shocking results. The teams are then surprised to learn they're heading for 'Australia'. The streets of Havana could prove to be the end for one of the race favourites.

Leg 9

As teams make their way to Vancouver, and a 'sleep in' could prove costly for one couple. Rivalry between the policemen and Paul and Steve heats up. Some cracks appear in more than of the other teams.

Leg 10

The teams battle it out in Banff in the beautiful Canadian Rocky Mountains. They find the going tough on the snow and ice and atempting to climb a frozen waterfall proves particularly difficult or a race favourite.

Leg 11

The remaining teams left in the running battle to make the top three in Beijing, China.

Finish Line

The three remaining teams battle it put across two continents in the quest to cross the finish line first.

Leg 1

In the premiere episode, meet the 11 teams who are about to depart on the adventure of a lifetime. Starting at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground, they will cover more than 50,000km, 4 continents, 12 countries and 23 cities, and along the way, they'll confront fears, experience new cultures and make lifelong friends. Who will have the right combination of strategy, strength, skill and teamwork to win the $250,000 prize?

Leg 2

The worldwide adventure continues when most teams struggle to find flights out of Indonesia. One team enquires about a bus off the island, while sparks fly when another couple can't agree on how to get to Vietnam.

Leg 3

Tonight, the race continues as the ten remaining teams seek good fortunes in Hong Kong. After eating their way through thousands of fortune cookies in search of their next clue, teams are faced with the race's only Fast Forward. Will any of them be brave enough to take up the hair-raising challenge? Meanwhile, the relationship between two teams takes a big turn for the worse, while the Chinese zodiac proves too challenging for some teams.

Leg 4

When The Amazing Race Australia continues tonight, the remaining nine teams scale great heights to face their greatest fears in South Africa. While some teams revel in the African traditions, others struggle when it comes time to feed the giraffes. Meanwhile, another team finds themselves on the wrong side of the law, and will Richard and Joey's ruthless determination be their downfall?

Leg 5

In tonight's exciting episode, the teams continue their South African odyssey in the beautiful coastal city of Cape Town. But the high-flying antics quickly come to an end for Chris and Anastasia at the Detour. Has this fiery relationship finally hit rock bottom? The teams put the race into perspective when they visit a local orphanage to deliver some much-needed goods, and will a nasty accident on the last challenge bring the race to an end for one team?

Leg 6

Teams go from the heat of South Africa to the chill of Europe. After enjoying some delicious appelbols, teams train off to become knights and servants for some Czech princesses and damsels before hoping to hit the target and avoid possible elimination.

Leg 7

Teams stay in the Czech Republic as they encounter some icy patches with each other. After introducing their butts to the ice, teams search for suspicious flagged persons before heading to brewery and church. Which teams can skate their way to the top and which teams will need a miracle to stay in the Race?

Leg 8

When The Amazing Race Australia continues tonight, the teams fight fatigue and have to keep racing without a rest stop. While on board a train for Poland, one team is robbed of their money and passports. Is it game over? Then, teams head underground in one of the world's oldest salt mines; while herding sheep proves frustrating for some. And the final challenge will end disastrously for more than one team.

Leg 9

When The Amazing Race Australia continues tonight, the remaining teams depart chilly Europe and the competition heats up in the Middle East. In Israel, they require patience and an eye for detail. And working together as a team takes on a deeper meaning when they are tasked with a challenge to discover how well they know their teammate. Teams face a daunting journey to a desert fortress. And one team won't make it to the pit stop.

Leg 10

The Amazing Race Australia continues tonight through historic Israel. At the site that housed the ancient Dead Sea Scrolls, teams are tested on their knowledge of Hebrew as they decipher their next clue. At the Detour, some teams choose to walk Jesus' final path - the Via Dolorosa - carrying an 80kg crucifix through the streets of Jerusalem. And scaling Jerusalem's old city walls proves a difficult last hurdle.

Leg 11

Tonight, the teams make a mad dash for Sri Lanka to secure a place in the finale. The Detour has some teams acting fishy; while deciding which carriage to ride in on a train trip could prove costly for one team. All teams struggle with their history; but are given the opportunity to make up some lost time at a masked street parade. And a final sewing challenge proves to be a disaster for all.

Leg 12

It's a race to the finish line when The Amazing Race Australia returns home for the winners to be crowned tonight. In Singapore, the teams seek their race riches from a local fortune teller; while a 55 storey tight-rope crossing Detour tests their nerves. Back in Australia, they search Fremantle Prison for their next clue. But the final challenge brings them all unstuck as they struggle to remember the highlights of their epic journey. Only one team will persevere to get to the finish line first and take home the $250,000 prize.
