Terrace House: Boys × Girls Next Door was a Japanese reality television series in the Terrace House franchise. It originally aired on Fuji Television's "Cool TV" segment from October 12, 2012 to September 29, 2014 for eight seasons, after which a standalone movie was released as a continuation/conclusion of the show. The show took place in a modernistic house with a terrace located in the Shōnan area.

Seasons & Episodes

A beautiful new girl comes into the house. She asks Kenya if there is someone he likes but he says he doesn’t know yet. Then, a new guy shows up.

Seina is keen to hear what type of girl new member Daiki likes, but he and Michiko seem to click. Kenya tells Ryoko how he feels.

Michiko’s swimsuit wows the boys. Kenya confesses his interest in Michiko, but she shows mixed feelings when he asks her out.

Unable to fit in, Ryoko tells Seina and Michiko she’s keeping her distance. Michiko and Kenya, Seina and Daiki have first dates at the fireworks.

Michiko is starting to open up to Kenya. Bottled up Ryoko finally tells how hurt she was. Daiki suddenly asks Seina out on a date.

Yosuke points out Kenya’s noncommittal attitude in the triangle with Ryoko and Michiko, so he talks to Ryoko. Daiki and Seina go to Hakone on a date.

Seina and Daiki spend some intense time alone together on a date in Hakone. The end of Terrace House is announced. Michiko waits for Kenya to return.

Alone with Ryoko, Michiko tells her she’s thinking of dating Kenya. After his match, Kenya tells Michiko he really likes her.

Michiko responds to Kenya's declaration of his feelings. It's unclear if Tetsuya is ready to leave the house. Daiki asks Seina out on a date.

Daiki gives Seina a special bottle of wine. Seeing the words “I Love You” engraved on it, Seina defers a reply, but asks Daiki out a few days later.

Ryoko, Kenya and Michiko leave the house as time winds down. Seina plans to see Daiki off first so she can spend the last night with Tetsuya. The Terrace House: Closing Door film picks up immediately after this point.

With Chie, Yosuke and Mai now gone, Tetsuya, Seina and Ippei await new members and hope for the spark of new love.

Ryoko, Kenya and Frankie join Terrace House. Seina tells Ryoko that Kenya is interested in her. Masato shows up to Seina’s birthday party.

Seina and Masato air their feelings when he brings flowers and a ring to the party. Ryoko gives Kenya a gift before he goes away for training.

Kenya is back from training camp. Ryoko is happy until she realizes he didn’t bring anything back for her. Meanwhile, Seina gets a call from Masato.

Seina sees how truly talented Masato is when she goes surfing with him. Ryoko is lonely in Kenya's absence. An unexpected visitor comes to the house.

Ippei gets shocking news. Tetsuya goes surfing with Masato and discusses his feelings for Seina. Kenya and Ryoko confirm their feelings after a date.

Despite making a date with Masato on the phone, Seina tearfully expresses exasperation. At dinner, she brings up a remark he made on the phone.

Worried about things with Seina, Tetsuya asks Masato how she feels. Frankie’s boyfriend says they don’t spend enough time together.

Seina and Masato become the topic of conversation in the girls' bedroom. Frankie and Ryoko ask Masato if he still likes Seina.

If Kenya wins the next away match, he’ll advance to the next round. In an email, Ryoko asks him how he feels about her now that the match is over.

Masato and Seina reunite and try to settle the Skirt Incident, but the situation takes an unexpected turn. Ryoko and Kenya spend time together.

Ippei and his comedy partner Manpei have prepared exclusive jokes for their solo live show today. Their future as a comedy duo is in question.

Ippei leaves after resolving his crisis with his buddy. Frankie decides to move on too. A beautiful new member comes and a new love story begins.

With two big personalities—Dyki and Miwako—gone, the remaining members wonder who will replace them.

Terrace House welcomes Chie and Ippei. Tetsuya is surprised when Mai asks him out on a date. The two new members jell quickly and go out for a stroll.

Rina tearfully hugs Yosuke the night before leaving the house. A new female member shows up as Chie and Ippei prep for Tetsuya’s Coming of Age party.

Seina shares her reasons for returning to Terrace House. Curious, she later asks Mai how she feels about Tetsuya.

Yosuke tells Ippei he thinks he and jyA-Me are in love. Things develop for Mai and Tetsuya, and Chie and Ippei. Hana & co. rush to Daiki’s farewell.

Yosuke asks for advice from Dyki about his feelings for jyA-Me and Hana. Hana has serious feelings for Yosuke, but Seina tells her how Yosuke feels.

While Seina is at work, Masato shows up to tell her his feelings. Yosuke agrees to take jyA-Me home. One night, Yosuke gets a phone call from Hana.

Valentine’s Day. Mai only gives Tetsuya chocolate. On a snowy day, Yosuke tells jyA-Me his feelings at the gallery to bring an end to a chapter.

Masato tells Seina his feelings. Ippei asks Mai out to dinner. Yosuke splits with jyA-Me and goes on a date with Hana.

Yosuke’s motives are questioned when Hana learns of his night with jyA-Me. He confesses his feelings. Tetsuya and Mai pose as a couple for a magazine.

Chie is moved when her housemates surprise her with a trip to celebrate her graduation from Terrace House. Meanwhile, Mai seems glum.

Yosuke leaves the house after seeing Chie off. That night, Seina hears the story behind the phone call and cries. Mai tells Tetsuya her feelings.

New House, New Girl, New Love

Everyone’s excited about the new Terrace House. With a new female housemate and romance in the air, the long-awaited new season is about to begin!

There Must Be a Catch

Mai invites Tetsuya on a surfing date. Later he hears from Michi that Mai called him her ideal guy. He gets really excited, but will it last?

Jealousy

Tetsuya thinks differently about Mai, who is getting on well with Yosuke. Rina is bewildered by Mai’s conduct. Yosuke’s kind words make Rina cry.

Singing a Different Melody

Tetsuya is confused by Mai’s recent activity, and Miwako suggests celebrating Mai’s birthday. Meanwhile, Mai joins Yosuke and Rina for music practice.

Love Is Like Fireworks

A few days after their date, Mai makes Tetsuya breakfast. Later, Mai notices Tetsuya acting strangely at her birthday party.

The house members distrust Mai, who cools on Tetsuya after seeing his behavior. On a date, Yosuke confesses his love to Rina with an original song.

Is It a Dry Flower

Yosuke tells Rina she is the one for him. Tetsuya finally decides to confess his feelings to Mai, but she reveals her true feelings to everyone first.

First Confession of Love

Everyone lets loose on Mai, telling her they can't trust her. Later, while alone together, Tetsuya tells Mai he likes her.

Fourth Time Being Honest

Dyki seeks Hana’s advice about a new venture. He makes a decision about his relationship with Miwako and tells Tetsuya and Yosuke everything.

The Last Lie Is a White Lie

Mai is fretting over a house meeting. Tetsuya invites her to dinner to learn her true feelings. Miwako talks to Tetsuya about Dyki leaving the house.

I Will Be in Friends All the Time

Dyki and Miwako are about to move on from the Terrace House. Tetsuya and the other housemates have a surprise for them at their last Christmas party.

Special episode where the studio commentators vote for the catchphrase of Terrace House after re-watching scenes that include the nominated phrases.

Ready for Summer

A girl with a guitar shows up one morning as the first of three new faces to call Terrace House their home for the new season.

He Is Mr. Perfect

Midori quickly finds herself in the middle of relationship drama as she, Yosuke and Rina settle into their new surroundings.

Miwako asks Dyki out on a date after he announces his plan to leave Terrace House after his next kickboxing match.

As Dyki thinks about what lies beyond his kickboxing career, Tetsuya invites him out to the beach. Midori and Yosuke go to a summer festival.

Yosuke finds himself attracted to one of the former housemates. Dyki brings home a stack of books in preparation for his next path in life.

He Is Not Mr. Perfect

Hana reacts to Yosuke’s sudden declaration. Being unaware of anything concerning his romantic past, Rina goes out on a date with Yosuke to Kamakura.

Going Up in Flames

Dyki starts studying in order to work with kids one day. Yosuke gets angry after picking a fight against internet trolls on his blog.

Stay by My Side

The blog incident creates a rift between the girls and Yosuke. Miwako tells Dyki what she plans to do after laying all her cards on the table.

We Are Moving Out!!

Dyki tries to stop Yosuke from suddenly leaving the show. The housemates pack up and get ready to move on to the next Terrace House.

Brand New Terrace House

YOU and Tori-chan realized that keeping an eye on these people and commenting Tecchan House is a lot of work, and call for reinforcements. A new girl is about to enter the house. Will Tecchan be friend zoned once again?

Babyfaced Foxy Girl

Seina is trying to contact Ma-kun, but he is ghosting her. New girl Aya joins the house. Her life goal is to get married at the Doraemon museum. Will it be Tecchan or Oji? Or will her stay in Terrace House make her give up on love all together? Seina drinks wine.

He's Back Again

Oji and Seina goes out on a second date. Seina drinks wine. Aya complains about the filth in Terrace House and the house mates decides to clean it. Ma-kun visits the house.

Sudden Goodbye

Ma-kun and Seina have their talk and it goes as expected. Seina turns 26 and throws a party where she drinks all the wine in the house before leaving it. Tecchan cries. Will this be the last we see of Seina?

Losing Love, Finding Love

Everyone is excited about the new idol that moved in, and Daiki is being very creepy about it. Tecchan tries to impress her by showing that he is the designated Terrace House chauffeur (it’s not like he has anything better to do). Aya tries to get Oji interested in her. Hana drinks wine

One-Sided Love

Hana is busy sailing on dry land. Aya goes on a date with Oji. Tecchan goes to the supermarket with Miko (and think it’s a date). No one drinks wine. :(

Lost Passion

Daiki have another match, this time against a Korean with a silly mustache. Everyone goes out “camping” in a cabin, to BBQ, drink and have hard talks.

Forbidden Love

It seems that Hana and Daiki did not take Seina’s advice, and the ‘getting laid counter’ is still zero in Terrace House. Tecchan tries to explain birds and bees to the girls, but ends up talking about batteries instead. Tecchan goes on a skateboard date with Mi-chan.

Sugar & Spice

Tecchan gets manlyness advice from Momo-chan. Daiki is very hungover. Aya and Oji goes to the aquarium on a date.

I've Been Waiting

Tecchan gets his first real acting gig with actual lines. The girls get drunk in the kitchen. Daiki trains kickboxing with Mi-chan and Aya-chan. Hana-chan whips Oji’s ass.

The Night of Confession

Daiki goes out to eat legit Indian curry with Mi-chan. Tecchan cooks yakisoba for breakfast. The guys’ butts are shown on national TV. Tecchan gets his heart crushed when watching national TV.

Just the Way You Are

Tecchan and Ma-kun goes surfing. Daiki drinks beer in the garden. Tecchan’s “acting” skills are broadcasted on TV. Tecchan throws a party for the house mates that are leaving, and calls for adequate reinforcements from Momo-chan and Seina.

The Decision of a 19-Year-Old

Seina gets shitfaced by drinking wine and stirs up the party in a way only Seina can do. The housemates wake up hungover in a messy house to say good bye. Tecchan works on his acting skills. New members are ready to move in.

The Girl Has Come

Gyaru model Hana-chan moves into the house. Seina welcomes the new house mate by opening a bottle of wine.

A Snowy Goodbye

Sho-kun is preparing for his new life. Hana-chan goes to the coming of age ceremony in her home town. Tecchan makes sukiyaki. Seina drinks wine.

Hungry for Love

The kick-boxer Daiki-kun invades Tecchan’s harem. Momo-chan tries to be a DJ in Shibuya. Tecchan goes to a photo-shoot but hides from the photographer. Seina drinks black tea (with red wine in it).

The Truth Behind the Tears

After joining the house, Dyki promises to go on a drive with Hana as he continues his kickboxing training. Seina worries about her modeling career.

Declaration of Love

Tecchan is being taught how to be an actor, (or so they say could be a long running practical joke). Daiki teaches the house mates how to throw a punch. Seina goes to Narita to see Ma-kun.

No Sweet Valentine

Producers at Fuji TV pulls some strings and get Tecchan his first acting job. His back shoulder is shown on TV for a few seconds. He gets to meet Tori-chan. Seina makes chocolate with wine in it.

Crushes Have No Limits

Another Tetsuya enters the house. He is a model, a pharmacist, mensa member and has a wikipedia article. But Tecchan stands his ground; there shall only be one Tecchan in the house, and names the newcomer Oji (the prince). Daiki confides in Seina who immediately spill the beans.

Two Love Triangles

Since Daiki is not Tecchan, he asks Hana out on a second date where they go and fill their mouths with strawberries. When Tecchan and Seina are forever alone in the house, he tells her a secret, but completely forgets that there is a camera crew present and that everyone will watch the episode the following week.

More Than Just Friends

This week on Tecchan House: Tecchan goes to work (once). Tecchan goes to acting class. Tecchan is awkward among people. Tecchan learns that secrets lasts about one week before they are broadcasted on national TV.

His Final Choice

Daiki is fasting to loose weight for his championship, Hana cooks food for him anyway. Tecchan does nothing. Momo-chan is hiding. Oji is finding Waldo. Seina drinks wine.

Showdown

Daiki tries cultural appropriation as a lucky charm and braids his hair. The match he’s been nagging about in every single episode since he arrived have finally come. He enters the match more pumped up than Yama-chan on speed

Kiss Kiss Kiss...

Daiki won the match. Now he will try to win the girl. With Daiki and Hana being all ラブラブ and Momo-chan leaving, Tecchan wants to be happy as well. Seina recommends tequila to be happy. Seina drinks wine, tequila and champagne, and becomes very happy. Oji is socially awkward.

Moving to the Terrace House

Evil genius YOU is driving around Tokyo in her sponsored TOYOTA car, plotting her latest evil plan: Put six strangers in a big house by the sea and let the drama unfold. It’s a social experiment to find out if Japanese people are capable of forming relationships and/or get laid.

The Beginning of Something New Or...

The housemates bond by cooking together at their new home. Some of their problems come to light. The boys talk about which of the girls they like.

Nobody Knows the Way She Feels

Tetsuya starts to act on his feelings for AKB48’s Rie Kitahara, and the two of them go shopping together. Masato invites Seina to exercise with him.

Thank You for Being Here

While watching the previous episode of the show, the housemates suddenly discover that Momoko’s parents are both deceased.

It's Never Too Late to Start

Tetsuya reveals the results of the firefighter exam. The housemates talk about their careers and dreams. Masato prepares for a surfing contest.

Puppy Love

Tetsuya tells Seina that he can’t just tell Kitahara that he likes her, because there is too much for her to lose. Masato’s competition day arrives.
