Modest and humble teacher Vasily is caught on camera raging over the miserable situation in his country. When a pupil posts the video on Youtube, it becomes a viral sensation. Everybody loves Vasily’s outrage and people start gathering money for a presidential campaign. Which he wins! Servant of the People follows Vasily’s new life as president; he has no interest in changing his life, he wants to stay the same, live in his flat with his parents, borrow money from his friends at the end of the month and take his bike to work; it’s just that now his work is as the most powerful man in the country.

Episode 1

Modest teacher Vasiliy is caught on camera raging over the political situation in his country. When a pupil posts the video on Youtube, it goes viral and Vasiliy becomes President of Ukraine.

Episode 2

Vasiliy is thrown into the world of big politics and has to deal with his newly found popularity.

Episode 3

Vasiliy awakes from a Greek philosophy dream to spend his first full day in office. His family are now fawning all over him and his newfound power - all except his sister, who arrives at the family home oblivious to recent developments.

Episode 4

Vasiliy prepares his speech for the inauguration with a range of vocal exercises. Stand-ins play out the presidential figures he will have to meet, while he takes his son to ride a merry-go-round with a huge protection team in tow.

Episode 5

Vasiliy is making life difficult for Yuri Ivanovich by refusing to use a limousine and firing his bodyguards. He also has to deal with the former President, who is refusing to leave the office.

Episode 6

Vasiliy realizes that the Ukrainian officials treat the country as their property and spend a lot of money on unnecessary luxuries, so he proposes to reduce the number of officials and cut back their budgets.

Episode 7

Things seem to be going very well after Vasiliy's impassioned speech about officials needing to live moderately. However, soon he discovers that most of them are just pretending for publicity.

Episode 8

Vasiliy declares open auditions for some of the highest government positions. Soon he discovers that the "winners" were pre-approved by Yuri Ivanovich, so he proposes his own candidates, including his former teacher and his ex-wife.

Episode 9

Vasiliy has to deal with the consequences of his own actions as his decision to appoint his friends and family as government official leads to accusations of nepotism. It soon turns out the people he appointed have no idea what to do.

Episode 10

The powers that be try to remove Vasiliy's people by offering them bribes, but none of them is willing to take any money. Vasiliy is worried about Nina Igorevna who is missing after being filmed in a humiliating situation.

Episode 11

Vasiliy's people decide to take the bribes after all. Soon a video of them taking the money is leaked and Vasiliy organizes a press conference to explain what really happened.

Episode 12

Vasiliy wants to reduce taxes, but for the plan to work everyone needs to pay their dues honestly. He is also approached by the wife of his former head of security whom he fired.

Vasiliy launches a campaign to make people stop working illegally and pay their taxes, which makes him a lot of new enemies. Meanwhile the powers that be are looking for dirt on Vasiliy.

Vasiliy's administration goes against Ukrainian millionaires, who feel they are above the law. Sveta asks Vasiliy for a job.

Vasiliy is frustrated by the state of Ukrainian roads and decides to use his power to fix them by pressuring the Minister of Infrastructure. Sveta is causing problems at her new job.

Vasyl meets the head of the IMF and discovers that Ukraine has received a $5 billion loan linked to pension reform. In order to be granted a longer period of time, he wants to appease the IMF boss with alcohol.

Vasyl wakes up at home with a hangover. He does not recall anything, but his friend Sergei tells him what happened that evening. Everything was going smoothly until the president had had too many drinks and had an affair with the head of the IMF.

After the misunderstanding of the previous evening gets cleared up, Vasyl is relieved, and his team immediately finds a solution: higher taxes on alcohol.

After being kicked out at home, Vasyl lives in his office; dissatisfied people protest against the new reforms outside of the building.

The protests in front of Vasyl's door abruptly die down because the ministers devise a meteorite heading for Ukraine as a diversionary tactic; Vasyl's new acquaintance Anya is in cahoots with the oligarchs.

Vasyl invites Anya to dinner, but ends up having dinner in the same restaurant as his ex-wife, Olga. He made a promise to Olga to take care of their son, Dima.

Vasyl gets invited to a talk show with other officials on Ukraine's Independence Day. In the live broadcast, they must answer numerous questions from the presenter about fighting corruption and reforming the judiciary.
