Rent-a-Goalie is a half-hour comedy television series from Canada that aired on Showcase from 2006 - 2008. Its third season premiered 20 October 2008. The first season was nominated for three Gemini Awards, including Best Comedy Series. It was also nominated for a Directors Guild of Canada Award, the CFTPA Indie Award for Best Comedy Series, an ACTRA Award for Best Male Performance for Christopher Bolton, and four Canadian Comedy Awards, winning two. The second season was nominated for six Gemini Awards, including Best Comedy Series, Best Ensemble Performance, Best Directing, Best Writing, Best Cinematography and Best Casting. It has also been nominated for three Canadian Comedy Awards.

As compensation for burning down Café Primo, Cake (Christopher Bolton) takes on NHL goalie Harry Bontar as a rent-a-goalie in a deal brokered by Darryl Sittler.

O'Malley (Oliver Becker) wages war on Cake (Christopher Bolton) after Bontar (James McGowan) burns down his beloved gazebo.

Cake (Christopher Bolton) goes toe-to-toe with Tie Domi when Short Bus (Jeremy Wright) gravely offends the former NHL star.

Cake (Christopher Bolton) and Doc (Matt Gordon) head to Burlington to rescue Billy (Stephen Amell) and then race back home to save Café Primo from the hands of the Esposito brothers.

When a third goalie rental service threatens both Cake's and O'Malley's livelihood, Cake is forced to listen to Francesca's business advice.

Wedding bells ring when Billy proposes to Francesca and Cake's long forgotten same-sex partner arrives at Cafe Primo.

On the cusp of game seven of The Cup final, Cake gets blamed for hexing Toronto goalie Harry Bontar and suffers the wrath of Toronto fans.
