The day before the big wedding has arrived and Stevie makes a shocking discovery - Fiona has been lying to Alex about being pregnant. Meanwhile, Kate and Jodi also have a secret of their own involving Fiona's wedding dress; Kate agrees to go with Patrick to the wedding but wonders if he's not the man for her; Dave asks Regan to help him learn to dance.

After a group of brumbies are found shot dead, the girls of Drovers suspect a handsome stranger named Riley. Stevie loses control when Leo returns to the district, just as she's trying to prove he murdered Harry Ryan. Thanks to a poor decision by Moira, Drovers Run suffers a dangerous petrol spill. Meanwhile, with his marriage on shaky ground Alex finds himself almost kissing Stevie; Jodi must make a farm decision based on the possibility that Stevie may go to jail, causing tension amongst the girls.

Steve tries to tie up loose ends at Drovers before her trial begins. Meanwhile, Fiona joins the CFS in an attempt to show Alex how she can integrate herself into the town; when Alex and Riley are away from Killarney the doors all over the property are left open.

After Jodi introduces Boer goats onto Drovers and tries to associate them with Gungellan Fresh, Phil Rakich interferes and bad mouths them. After Alex returns from the city, Stevie worries that he's changed his mind about them. Meanwhile, Jodi and Patrick fight over who knows Kate the best; Kate and Dave work together when the Boer goats refuse to drink.

After being offered a two-year research job in Africa, Dave tries to pretend he isn't interested. Meanwhile, Kate & Patrick hit a bumpy patch in their relationship; Stevie declares war on Alex; a newly-divorced Moira finds herself the object of Phil Rakich's affection.

After learning of Dave's plan to move to Africa, Kate realizes she still has feelings for him. Meanwhile, Fiona shows up at Killarney claiming half of the furniture; Riley wants to join the CFS but Jodi suspects it's really a ploy to be near her.

Sally and Harrison now living at Wilgul threatens Tess's marriage; she escapes on an overnight muster only to be faced with a life and death situation she herself causes. During the muster, the girls of Drovers Run find a novel way to pass the time. They ask each other whom, out of each of them, they would date if they were a guy. However, Stevie is far from impressed when no one nominates her - with Kate and Jodi employing a strange way to make their boss feel better! Meanwhile, Alex and Dave are concerned about Harry's state of mind since Sandra left.

The women of Drovers take on the big boys of the sheep industry at the annual Wool Expo. As Nick's web of lies about Sally and the baby come undone Tess makes her feelings clear leaving him no choice but to leave Drover's Run and his wife behind.

Meg heads home early from the city in the hope she can be of some comfort to Tess during her time out with Nick. But Meg has little success trying to get Tess to open up and talk about her problems. On her return to Drover's Meg is shocked to learn of Jodi's new found enthusiasm for drag racing and unimpressed when she learns Terry appears to have done little to dissuade her. Luke gambles his and Jodi's holiday money in a bet on the drag race and when he is injured, she is forced to drive in his place. Will Meg's worries be justified?

The passionate, stubborn side of Dave is exposed when he stumbles across an injured horse and believes he has found a descendent, a Waler, of the first settlement horses. Jodi is torn between her job and preventing Luke from taking dangerous risks and ruining his future. Meg and Terry realise they've been too busy embracing change to give their old relationship time. Sally ends up in hospital with a blood clot on the lungs.

Harry is secretly thrilled when he hears Sandra is back in town, however their initial meeting doesn't go well with neither capable of confessing their love to each other. Even though Harry seeks advice from Tess, and Sandra from Nick, it's openly a war of the roses, and Sandra's last-ditch attempt to get a response from Harry backfires. Kate tries to convince Stevie to reinstate Jodi, whom she fired the previous week. Stevie won't budge unless Jodi admits she's wrong, and Jodi won't return unless Stevie asks her. Nick learns what it's like to be a single father, juggling bottles, nappies, baby, and work. With some loving advice from Tess, he accepts the chaos and learns to enjoy time with his son.

Incapacitated by an injured foot, a bored Stevie has become addicted to the two-way radio. What was supposed to be a way of her keeping in touch around the farm has become an opened Pandora's Box. Kate is feeling lonely and overworked at Drovers when a fence job on the Drovers/Killarney border sees her having to work with Sandra. She so impresses Sandra that it leads to a job offer: Come and run Kinsella's for her. It's Kate's dream come true but before she accepts she needs to know if Jodi is planning to return to Drover's. Then the worst part – telling Tess. Drag racing and umemployment continue to bring Jodi all kinds of problems while Tess and Nick are still dealing with relationship issues of their own. Living apart may seem like the logical solution but it isn't solving any problems between the two of them and sending all the wrong messages to single women in the district!

The women of Drovers run are no longer a team of four. Kate, after being head hunted by Sandra, is working as overseer at Kinsella's. Jodi, after being fired by Stevie, has gone into business for herself, selling cosmetics, party plan. Tess and Stevie are managing alone, but only just. Dave, Regan & Tess go on an afternoon picnic when Nick heads into town for a meeting, that ends up becoming a job offer. Meanwhile, Stevie takes care of Charlotte for the afternoon, but when the child goes missing, she turns Drovers upside down to find her; Jodi gives Kate a facial with disastrous results.

As Nick and Tess prepare to leave Drovers Run for their trip to Argentina, Tess & Stevie are blindsided by Regan's announcement that she plans to dig up the land in search of gold. Meanwhile, a tall, dark & handsome stranger catches Jodi's eye, and he turns out to be the new overseer at Killarney; Kate takes more of Jodi's advice and attempts to make Dave jealous.

There's no way he could have sired any offspring and she and Tess realise they've been had.

Fearing for Charlotte's life, Tess accepts a ride from Stevie to the hospital, but it turns out to be far from a straightforward trip. With the private investigator in hot pursuit, things get worse when Charlotte has a heat-induced fit. It looks like they are not going to make it to the hospital in time so Stevie steals a plane to speed the trip up. When Bill Tilson decides to sell up and move to the city, Claire sees the precariousness of her own situation on Drover's Run. Meg meanwhile is preparing to make her annual tomato chutney. Despite her best efforts it tastes awful and she doesn't understand why.

Theft is on everyone's mind. There are cattle duffers working in the district. Killarney has been struck - Nick's high tech security cameras undone by rifle fire - and a flock of Claire's sheep have gone missing. Claire's outrage at the thieves is tempered by mortification when she discovers her sheep haven't been stolen at all, but are wandering in the neighbouring National Park. The arrival of Senior Constable Cook to inform Claire of this puts the wind up Becky and Jodi who suspect he knows more than he's saying about Becky's altercation with Brian.

When Claire attends a seminar on Artificial Insemination with Alex she leaves Tess in charge of Drovers Run. In spite of a few doubts, Claire gives her a new pair of boots to honour the occasion. Claire and Alex endure a three hour drive to Fisher together only to be involved in a bingle with Peter Johnson who is running the seminar. He assumes Alex and Claire are a married couple and manages to rile Claire even more.

The sudden death of local farmer Max Martin alarms Harry, prompting inner fears of his own mortality, and a sudden outward drive to defy whatever fate may have in store by pursuing instant and rapid expansion of his property. Meanwhile Claire and Tess come across an accident involving one of their own with dramatic consequences for the Ryans.

A good sale at the sheep sales and the girls are ready to celebrate. A night at the pub, a bit of Karaoke perhaps, all the signs of a great ""Girls Night Out"". But things don't go as planned when it is revealed that the new barmaid, Kimmy, has been copping the same abuse Becky fell victim to at the hands of Brian. Resolving that something must be done and it must be done without Claire's knowledge, the decision is made to wait until closing and see if they can catch Brian fair and square.

Claire is finding it difficult to come to terms with Tess' new found relationship with Alex. Her dream of developing a quarter horse breeding program at Drover's Run looks as if it may be close to coming to fruition and she's using it as an excuse to push Tess away. Tess wants nothing more than to help in any way she can, but Claire, having given Tess her share of the sheep sales, has decided it's time for her to return to the city. She claims to have Tess' interests at heart. She is about to achieve her dream, and wants Tess to have hers - that little cafe in Brunswick she used to talk about.

Love is in the air over Drovers Run. When Alberto, an itinerant, good looking young Italian rescues Jodi from a rampant steer she falls hopelessly in love with him. At first Meg isn't too worried as Alberto will be moving on. Before he can leave however, he saves Jodi yet again, this time from a snake, incurring a snakebite himself in the process. While he is recuperating, love starts to bloom between him and Jodi. Which is exactly what Claire is hoping would be happening between her mare (Blaze) and Harry's stallion (Wildfire).

Tess is obsessed with her new psychology theory - the three levels of why. Armed with one of her mother's old psychology textbooks she figures if she can real reason for people's actions, then everything will be sorted. But all the psychology in the world can't explain why Alex isn't as romantic as she would like him to be, why Becky and Jodi are at each other's throats, or why Loverboy - the bull Claire sells to Nick - keeps breaking out of Nick's yards and returning to Drovers Run.

After a grubby day mustering cattle, Tess is thrilled to see two friends turn up unannounced at the homestead. Simon (Murray Bartlett) and Briony (Alexandra Davies) are her best mates from TAFE. She hasn't seen them for yonks. They're fun, they're charming, they've brought their own food. And while they're still hugging hello they drop their bombshell. They've got a lease on the cafe they all dreamed about and they want Tess to come back to the city with them ASAP.

Jodi's fund raising efforts for Miss Gungellan are reaching fever pitch with a charity bush polo match to be held at Drovers Run, but a cloud of discontent covers the girls when they make a macabre discovery in the dam.
