5.0

They're armed, dangerous and pose an imminent threat to person and property - and you might even be one! Discovery Channel has tracked down five shockingly shoddy renovators and offers the critical tools to help them improve.

Seasons & Episodes

The nominees build cabinets for fridges in their rooms and make shelves out of snowboards.

In this final episode, the handymen are given one last project to complete. They must attempt to install a biometric deadbolt. For some, this tasks shows just how "all thumbs" they really are.

In this forth installment of the hit TV series "Canada's Worst Handyman", five of the country's most hapless home renovators are given the opportunity of renovating a one hundred year old country lodge somewhere deep in Ontario cottage country.. At the lodge, each handyman will attempt to renovate a bedroom equipped with an ensuite 3 piece bathroom into a children's retreat.

With Rehab well underway, each handyman begins by demolishing two bedroom walls and their bathroom - a challenge that should be simple enough....except we are dealing with Canada's Worst Handymen. Next, we find that rehab is driving our handymen up the walls. Our hapless handymen attempt to give their walls a rustic faux log finish ...and it's not a pretty sight. Later, they attempt to lay vinyl flooring in their bathrooms , and then work together to build two large wooden frames They don't know it yet, but they will eventually use these frames to form the walls of an Ice Hut.

In this episode, each candidate must shed some light on their projects by creating a rustic lamp out of a log , and then install dimmer switches in their rooms. Both projects turn out to be quite shocking for some of the hapless handymen. Next, things heat up between the handymen as they attempt to assemble electric fireplace kits. Next it's toilet installation, and it winds up being a very messy business. Finally, in the group challenge, one candidate acts as the reluctant foreman to conquer a framing challenge - a frame that will be used in the construction of the Ice Hut.

As our five hapless home renovators continue their stint in rehab, they find themselves building a medicine cabinet that is meant to be both attractive and functional. But surprise, surprise, it doesn't really work out that way... Our hopeless handy folk then attempt to hang drywall... and duly proceed to screw up ways we never even thought possible. Later, things get a little wild at the rehab centre as the handymen attempt to make coat racks out of deer antlers. Finally, tempers flare as the group attempts to build and hang three types of doors that will be used in the construction of the Ice Hut.

In this episode, the candidates begin by installing vinyl walls around their bathtubs and it's not long before they become stuck - very, very stuck. Things get even messier when take a stab at plastering their recently hung drywall. Next, our hapless handymen attempt to convert old whiskey barrels into rustic chairs. In the group challenge, the handyman struggle to build a games table and a pool cue rack. As the pressure to complete the challenge builds, the arguments, struggles and blunders get the best of them. By the end of this episode, another handyman has learned enough to warrant the title of most improved, and someone hangs their head in shame as this week's worst.

This week the hapless handymen go wet and wild as they try to install a vanity and complete basic plumbing tasks. Next, the nation's most abysmal handymen fly by the seat of their pants as they attempt to make their own wooden toilet seats. Then its time for the annual skills contest where the handymen must follow instructions and race to finish small supporting walls and triangular pieces. They don't know it yet, but these are the last pieces of the puzzle they need to erect an Ice Hut in next weeks' final episode. Finally, things get all bent out of shape during the group challenge as they try to wrap their brains around building curved wooden fishing nets.

The handymen are given a last chance to get their rooms in order and race to complete the To-do list of 20 unfinished projects. Some handymen take this opportunity to show what they've learned while others fall further behind. Next, the group takes a crack at the most dangerous group project ever attempted in Rehab. With everyone out on the ice, it's time to assemble the Ice Fishing Hut the group has been building in pieces. Lastly, the hapless handymen attempt to ready their rooms by assembling bunk bed kits before the Cub Scouts arrive. After attempting to finish the list of unfinished projects and a visit by the Cub Scouts, it is finally time for the experts to name the worst of the worst for this season.

As the handymen begin smashing their way toward rehabilitation, it’s clear that they’ve got a long road ahead. First, they design their rooms. Then their skills – or lack thereof – are assessed as they build stud walls and install wall safes in each room. Or attempt to! By the end of the episode, one candidate breaks through the rubble to claim the title of “Most Improved.” In the end, however, incompetence ensures that someone else is nailed with the title of “Worst” after the first round of projects.

When the production team visited the handymen at their respective homes, they noticed that none of the handymen had functional workbenches. Well actually, Desmond did – until he used it and cut right through it with a circular saw. Now, each handyman is charged with designing and building their own workbench – but the results are dubious at best! Next, see how Reno Rehab is driving these handymen up the walls – quite literally. The century-old mansion that they are renovating has walls that are full of holes in need of patching and it’s up to the hapless handymen to begin plastering their way to a smooth finish. Then, as they shrink-wrap the windows and work together to build a kitchen shelving unit, tempers flare and one person is ejected from the group project.

In this episode, each candidate must install a shower in their guest rooms. This project turns into a marathon challenge as we find some handymen working for over seven hours to complete it. Next, the group is trained to use a router. The pros regard this tool as the handyman’s secret weapon, but in the hands of Canada’s Worst Handymen, its many uses are utterly wasted. Finally, in the group challenge, one candidate acts as the reluctant foreman to conquer drywall and hardwood. By the time they finish, one handyman is named most improved, and a new candidate hangs their head in shame as this episode’s worst.

As these five hapless home renovators continue their stint in Rehab, they find themselves building a radiator cover that is meant to be both attractive and functional. By the end of the challenge, however, many of them find that their projects fail to measure up to either standard. As they soldier on, the handymen must also dig deep in order to correctly fix the holes in their floors, but many find themselves on shaky ground. Even hanging mirrored panels on the wall proves to be too much for this band of bad builders. Finally, for the group project, the team attempts to install flooring and cabinets. At the end of this episode, one person is named the most improved, and yet another is named this episode’s worst.

In this episode, the candidates switch gears and tackle the gentler arts as they begin sewing curtains for their rooms in Canada’s Worst Bed & Breakfast. Things unravel quickly, however, and many rooms are lucky to get any form of curtain hung at all. Next, the crew attempts to tackle basic closet construction and hanging wall sconces. What should be fairly simple for an average handyman proves nearly impossible for most of these hopeless renovators. In the kitchen, work continues – as well as the arguments, struggles and blunders.

The Handyman Rehabilitation centre offers a new set of challenges this week that include learning to make a tufted headboard and fixing a banister. Things really get switched around, however, for the group’s kitchen challenge as this episode’s foreman takes on grouting and then tackles the backsplash… with more than a little backlash! The kitchen challenge continues with plumbing and faucet installation, but it doesn’t look like this Bed & Breakfast will be serving breakfast from a functioning kitchen anytime soon.

In this episode, our bad builders hit the deck and complete a linoleum and carpet challenge in their personalized Bed & Breakfast rooms. The handymen must install peep holes on the doors and add door knobs, which only serve to prove just how bad these handymen still are. As they put the finishing touches on their rooms, they soon move on to finishing the kitchen walls.

Our handymen are given a chance to let their creativity shine as they are given free rein to accessorize their rooms. Some handymen take this opportunity to show their creative flair – and others use it to hide their mistakes. Next, everyone must take a chair and build it according to flat-pack instructions in order to finish the kitchen furniture for the B & B. Once the projects are completed and the doors to the Bed & Breakfast are finally opened, see who is named the worst-of-the-worst and must bear the dubious title of Canada’s Worst Handyman.

Before they arrive at the Rehabilitation Centre, each hopeless handymen designs their eco shed in the comfort of their own home. The on-site experts test them for tool knowledge and assess their handiwork only to determine that these bad builders are even worse than imagined.

After a major redesign of their eco shed frames, the handymen “get wired” by building solar panel housing and wiring their eco sheds for solar energy. Next, the group works together to build a brick barbecue.

After fixing their faulty wiring, moods go from bad to worse as the handymen find themselves installing windows and enclosing walls. Tempers flare when the handymen switch nominators and work long into the night applying plywood sheeting to their sheds. The workload and tension only increase as the handymen slap up denim insulation and wrap up their sheds with a vapour barrier. The episode ends when they attempt to build a picnic table from scratch.

The handymen get down and dirty as they put up drywall and apply mudding and clay plaster. Then, a medical emergency threatens the delicate balance of the group and rivalries come to a head. The group struggles to complete a dwelling for Ruth’s dog, while the experts determine who ends up in the doghouse after this challenge.

A surprising new addition to the group changes everything; and peace in the ranks is briefly restored… that is, until the handymen start grouting tiles and installing pine ceilings. Creature comforts inside the eco sheds start to take shape as high-tech hammocks and eco toilets are installed. Tempers heat up again, however, when the group works together on a wood-fired hot tub.

The bad builders settle in and install environmentally friendly cork floors in their eco sheds and then try to measure and calculate their way through trim and molding. Everyone builds a stereo unit and installs a TV, but it soon becomes apparent that one of the group members is a weaker link than previously suspected.

After learning proper harness techniques, the handymen tackle the roofs of their eco sheds. Roofing proves to be too much to handle as a few teams reach the end of their ropes. Other pairs, discouraged by the results, head for the floor. Then it’s time for the final step as doors are installed on each of the sheds.

The completed sheds are revealed for their final evaluation. Which of them will fit through the warehouse door? Everything comes to a head as this season’s Worst Handyman is named, once and for all.

The eco sheds have been auctioned off on eBay, with the profits destined for Habitat for Humanity – thankfully sold sight unseen! In this final episode, see the results of the handymen’s horrible work. The sheds – or what’s left of them – are delivered to the lucky purchasers.

The ragtag band of DIY bootcamp inductees arrive at Handyman Rehab and prepare to be hammered and drilled on the basic principles of construction by Canada's Worst Handyman's tough-love experts. Relegated to their apartments, the first assignments begin - who will emerge as the star pupil, and who will end the episode as the worst in the class?

Arguably the most important room in the house, why is it that so many bathroom renovations go terribly wrong? This episode tackles the most private of spaces, as the Handymen struggle to replace a toilet, lay linoleum and tile in close quarters. Tempers flare and meltdowns abound as the Handymen see their reno ambitions go down the drain and one is named as the episode's Worst Handyman.

It all comes crashing down as chairs break and shelves plummet to the ground in this episode that challenges the abilities and patience of the Handymen. In the wake of pathetic projects, who will earn the "most improved" toolbelt, and who must take the walk of shame to the Tool Shed for extra homework?

At the halfway point, Canada's Worst Handyman throws everything at the participants - including the kitchen sink! As they tackle the kitchen floor, sink, door and walls, the Handymen play the blame game and turn on their nominators - for helping too much or not enough. The gang is surprised when they learn that the nominators will be switched up for each and every task. Has anyone improved? And who ends up in the Tool Shed?

As four of the Handymen decorate, beautify and work to complete their apartment projects, one spends the day in the ER. What was the reno "vice" that sent this Handyman to the hospital, and will he return in time to complete the job?

The Handymen claim that they have learned from their Rehab experience and today they face their ultimate challenge - one monster project that will combine the most daunting tasks from each previous episode. Hardhats and toolbelts on, they must work together to completely overhaul one apartment - start to finish - in just one day! In a flurry of activity including flooring, plumbing, furniture building and assembly, drywall and glass block installation the Handymen work to prove their mettle to the experts. Then, after one final challenge, the experts nail one participant with the unfortunate "honour" of being Canada's Worst Handyman.

This special episode follow each Handyman's personal journey in rehab - from the first nail to the last screw - and looks back at the breakthroughs and breakdowns that made their experiences so memorable. And finally, watch as the Handyman Rehabilitation Centre crumbles to the ground.
