13-year-old Nils Holgersson is enchanted by a house goblin because he is disrespectful to humans and animals. Suddenly Nils is as small as an imp, but can understand the language of animals. So he notices that house goose Martin is trying to follow a flock of wild geese that are flying across the yard. Nils wants to hold Martin, but is pulled into the air by him. Friend Åsa, accompanied by her dog Alfred, goes in search of Nils. A great adventure begins.
