The New Gidget
The New Gidget is an American television sitcom that aired in syndication from 1986 to 1988. The series was produced by original Gidget series producer Harry Ackerman and was launched after the television movie Gidget's Summer Reunion starring Caryn Richman as Gidget aired in 1985. Richman would go on to reprise the role of Gidget in the series.
Gidget and the family go on a cruise and are shipwrecked on a deserted island.
A boy with uncanny skateboard capabilities is in a constant battle with his father's option that skateboarding is a waist of resources, until his son's talents are discovered as ""astonishing"" and becomes the center-stage for a beach commercial.
Danni's wind surfing teacher develops a crush on Gidget, and she must find a way to set him straight without hurting his feelings
Gidget tries to make a plain girl look beautiful for a school dance.
Gidget must punish Danni after she repeatedly doesn't obey, and lets a friend use Gidget's and Jeff's credit card.
Danni starts her own business in order to make enough money to buy an expensive stereo.
Gidget starts a campaign to save a local park after it is ordered destroyed by the planning board, which Jeff is a part.
Danni attempt to finish a household chore list in order to go on vacation to Balboa.
Jeff perseveres with his monotonous workout in the ball cage with the ""old standard pitching machine"" but wishes he had a real human being to challenge him. Being that it's Jeff & Gidget's 8th wedding anniversary, Gidget exhaustingly tries to get the most amazing gift of obtaining professional baseball pitcher Jerry McGibbon (Jeff Yagher) to pitch to Jeff.
Gail's band delights a children's birthday party as their first 'gig'. During the party, Danny joins the band bringing vocals and sparks an interested talent-scout from a TV show (Rock Hunt), which progresses the band to audition. A musical metamorphosis starts to take place in the band so that it leads ""some"" of the band members down a selfish, uncompromising path that excludes the only band member who really has the composing talent, Gail.
Gidget and Jeff try to improve themselves.
Jeff wins a '65 Mustang in a radio contest, but has it stolen just after getting the car.
Former beach bunny/girl surfer Francine "Gidget" Lawrence is an adult and married to her long-term beau Jeff "Moondoggie" Griffin. She deals with a variety of marital spats, as well as running her own travel agency, running interferences with her teenage niece, and trying to arrange a reunion of her husband's old surfing friends. Meanwhile, Jeff works as an architect and must fend off romantic advances from his beautiful and lascivious boss. Gidget's niece wants to learn how to surf and gets too much when she sneaks out to see a suave, self-serving beach bum behind the back of her nerdy boyfriend.
