The rudest, lewdest, crudest cult TV comedy is in the UK at last! For nearly 10 years, Def Comedy Jam has been a huge hit on TV in the USA (HBO) and now you have a chance to see some of the biggest names in black comedy. And this is the uncut version – too hot for regular TV. See the raw and riotous talents of D.L. Hughley, Adele Givens, GiGeorge, Simply Marvalous, A.J. Jamal and many other new stars in three great, live-recorded shows. And they’re all hosted by the legendary Martin Lawrence (House Party, Bad Boys, Do The Right Thing …), the man who hip-hopped all the way to Hollywood.

This second volume of the series features the controversial Chris Rock (Me, Myself and Irene, Lethal Weapon 4, Dogma) who hosts one of the live shows. Chris Tucker (Rush Hour), Bernie Mac (Ocean’s Eleven, Charlie’s Angels 2) features in the second show which is hosted by (Bad Boys) Martin Lawrence. The third show includes such greats as Cedric the Entertainer, George Willborn, Sonya D and Rudy Rush.

This volume presents two episodes from the Def Comedy Jam nine season run. Saucy bad boy Martin Lawrence and ex-MTV VJ Bill Bellamy both give tremendously funny performances as well as Joe Torry, Cedric the Entertainer and others.

Another all-star comedy showcase featuring the most talented, rowdy, and cutting-edge black comedians in the United States. Steve Harvey and D.L. Hughley are two stalwarts of the black comedy scene -- a fact that is evidenced by their appearances in Spike Lee's ORIGINAL KINGS OF COMEDY. This hour-long video is an extravaganza of laughs guaranteed to tickle--or perhaps kick--one's funny bone.

Def Comedy Jam played host to some of the greatest comedians of the 1990s, many of whom went on to greater fame, due in part to the exposure they received on the program. This edition of ALL STARS features two episodes of the landmark show and contains early performance by Jamie Foxx, Martin Lawrence, and Chris Tucker. Each display a much fuller picture of the comic persona they often show in movies as their acts showcase their own original material and are completely uncensored.

Def Comedy Jam played host to some of the greatest comedians of the 1990s, many of whom went on to greater fame, due in part to the exposure they received on the program. Here, DEF COMEDY JAM stalwart Martin Lawrence shares the stage with relative unknowns Yvette Wilson, Ellen Cleghorne (of SNL fame), and Arnez J. Contains two episodes.

Def Comedy Jam played host to some of the greatest comedians of the 1990s, many of whom went on to greater fame, due in part to the exposure they received on the program. Here, Mark Curry and Steve Harvey both show off some comic chops that that could never air on their respective network TV shows, though Harvey has shown this side of himself in Spike Lee's excellent THE ORIGINAL KINGS OF COMEDY. Rounding out the performers are Don "D.C." Curry (NEXT FRIDAY) and Arnez J. Contains two episodes.

Another fantastic hour of cutting-edge comedy emerges from Russell Simmons' brainchild, THE DEF COMEDY JAM. This volume features up and comers including George Wallace (of A RAGE IN HARLEM), Cedric the Entertainer (from "The Steve Harvey Show") and Mike Epps (of NEXT FRIDAY).

Def Comedy Jam played host to some of the greatest comedians of the 1990s, many of whom went on to greater fame, due in part to the exposure they received on the program. Here, Joe Torry (SPRUNG) showcases his explosive act alongside comedienne Sommore, a former host of BET's COMIC VIEW. Also performing in these two episodes of the show are standup comedy stalwarts Will E., DJ Robo, and Drew Fraser.

Def Comedy Jam played host to some of the greatest comedians of the 1990s, many of whom went on to greater fame, due in part to the exposure they received on the program. Steve Harvey, a regular on the program, showcases his amazing act, featured in THE ORIGINAL KINGS OF COMEDY, which will surprise anyone who only knows him from his sitcom. Here, he is joined by a younger set of comedians: Tracy Morgan, Chocolate, and Ricky Harris.

The productive young men, who are from St. Louis, have appeared in films including POETIC JUSTICE and SPRUNG, and have also produced and directed various television programs. Here, they bring their upbeat brand of comedy to the Def Comedy stage.

featuring African-America comedy veteran Rudy Ray Moore aka The Dolomite performing more ‘adult’ material.

The three lively, 1990s episodes of Def Comedy Jam on More All Stars, Vol. 1 find Martin Lawrence hosting two of the programs, though his duties include a funny bit about trying to put on a condom in the fog of early-morning sleepiness. ("Just go to work. I'll call you when I'm done.") The parade of brief appearances by working comics include Angela Means, who complains about the worried boyfriend who left her during the L.A. riots because her complexion was dangerously light. Cedric the Entertainer, in his impressionist mode, imagines Luther Vandross's soulful schoolboy days, while Alturo Shelton enlists several colleagues (and the one white guy in the audience) to recreate glory years of the Temptations. Lots to enjoy, but a real highlight is Tommy Chun's bewilderment over Ice Cube's taste in flannel shirts. ("How do you survive in South Central? Get a tank top!").--Tom Keogh

This second volume of raw and gritty More All Stars episodes from the early 1990s finds comedians Martin Lawrence and Joe Torry still on active duty as frequent hosts. (Between introducing up-and-coming, African American comics, Lawrence gets in some good licks about the psychological contrast between deranged white men and defeatist black men getting fired from their jobs.) The overall quality of the shows is a bit lower than Volume 1, but Steve Harvey hits a double with satiric observations about why blacks never hitch rides, Tony Brown strikes a nerve with a joke about ice-skating as a white pursuit, and Gerald Kelly delivers a clever penis plaint from his member's point-of-view. ("You tryin' to suffocate me with that thing?"). Speaking of which, the John and Lorena Bobbitt drama--fresh news at the time--figures prominently in the gags, though to uneven effect. --Tom Keogh
