Miss Universe is an annual international beauty pageant that is run by the United States-based Miss Universe Organization.[1] The contest is the largest pageant in the world in terms of live TV coverage, airing yearly in more than 190 countries worldwide to an audience of over 2.5 billion people.[2] Along with Miss World, Miss International, and Miss Earth, Miss Universe is one of the Big Four international beauty pageants.[3] The Miss Universe Organization and its brand, along with Miss USA and Miss Teen USA, are currently owned by the WME/IMG talent agency.

Miss Universe 1960, the ninth Miss Universe pageant, was won by 18-year-old Linda Bement of USA. She was crowned by Miss Universe 1959, Akiko Kojima of Japan. It took place on 9 July 1960 at the Miami Beach Auditorium in Miami Beach, Florida, USA.

Miss Universe 1969, the 18th edition of the Miss Universe pageant, was held in Miami Beach, Florida, USA. Martha Vasconcellos crowned her successor to Gloria Diaz of the Philippines. A twenty-two-year-old Miss Philippines. Ms. Diaz became the first filipina beauty queen titleholder to win the pageant and the third Asian to do so. Gloria Diaz beat 61 contestants from all around the world.

Miss Universe 2008, the 57th Miss Universe pageant, was held at the Crown Convention Center in the Diamond Bay Resort, Nha Trang, Vietnam on July 14, 2008. Dayana Mendoza, Miss Venezuela, was crowned Miss Universe 2008 by outgoing titleholder Riyo Mori from Japan. Eighty contestants competed in the event which was broadcast and distributed globally via NBC in English and Telemundo in Spanish to TV outlets in more than 180 countries. The pageant was watched by a live audience of 7,500 and nearly a billion television viewers worldwide. This is the first major USA-based television production to take place in Vietnam since the end of the Vietnam War. This is also the first time that the Miss Universe pageant was broadcast in 1080i High-definition. This pageant was held in a contemporary Communist state for the first time as well. The final presentation show was on July 8, the dress rehearsal on July 13, and the live telecast on July 14. Most activities were held successively in Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Noi, Da Nang, Hoi An, Ha Long and finally Nha Trang. Jerry Springer, tabloid talk show host and host of NBC's America's Got Talent, and Melanie Brown, a.k.a. "Scary Spice", member of the UK pop group Spice Girls and host of TLC's The Singing Office, presented this year's competition. Lady Gaga performed her hit single "Just Dance" for the first time in television.

Miss Universe 2009, the 58th Miss Universe pageant, was held at the Imperial Ballroom, Atlantis Paradise Island, in Nassau, Bahamas on August 23, 2009. It was the first back to back victories in Miss Universe history: Stefania Fernandez of Venezuela, was crowned Miss Universe 2009 by outgoing titleholder Dayana Mendoza. 84 countries and territories competed for the title and the pageant was broadcast live on NBC and Telemundo. On August 22, Jewel Selver representing Turks & Caicos withdrew from the pageant due to illness. Only 83 contestants competed in the final on August 23.

Miss Universe 2009

Hosted by Billy Bush and Claudia Jordan and held at the islands of the Bahamas - This is the 58th Miss Universe pageant. There are 84 contestants this year, but only one will be the winner. The judges have voted and Stefania Fernandez from Veneuela is crowned Miss Universe 2009.

Hosted by Bret Michaels, Natalie Morales and held in Las Vegas, USA - This is the 59th Miss Universe pageant. There are 83 contestants this year, but only one will be the winner. The judges have voted and Jimena Navarrete from Mexico is crowned Miss Universe 2010.

Miss Universe 2011, the 60th anniversary of the Miss Universe pageant, that was held at the Credicard Hall, in São Paulo, Brazil last September 12, 2011. Ximena Navarrete of Mexico crowned her successor Leila Lopes of Angola at the end of the pageant.[4] Contestants from 89 countries and territories are participating in this year's pageant, surpassing the previous record of 86 contestants in 2006.

Miss Universe 2018, the 67th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 17 December 2018[a] at IMPACT Arena, Muang Thong Thani in Nonthaburi Province, northern suburb of Bangkok, Thailand. Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa crowned her successor Catriona Gray of the Philippines by the end of the event. The show was hosted by comedian Steve Harvey and supermodel Ashley Graham, while television personality Carson Kressley and runway coach Lu Sierra provided commentary and analysis throughout the event. American singer-songwriter Ne-Yo performed during the competition. Contestants from 94 countries and territories participated in this year's pageant, surpassing the previous record of 92 contestants in 2017. Ángela Ponce of Spain became the first openly transgender contestant to compete for the Miss Universe title.

Miss Universe 2019 will be the 68th edition of the Miss Universe competition. It will be held on December 8, 2019 at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States. Catriona Gray of the Philippines will crown her successor by the end of the event. The pageant will be hosted by Steve Harvey in his fifth consecutive year as host, while Olivia Culpo and Vanessa Lachey will serve as backstage corespondents and Ally Brooke will perform. A new crown made by luxury jeweler Mouawad will make its debut.
