Miss America 2010, the 89th Miss America pageant, was held at the Theatre for the Performing Arts in Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on January 30, 2010. Miss America 2009, Katie Stam from Indiana, crowned her successor at the end of the event, Caressa Cameron from Virginia. Contestants from all 50 states along with District of Columbia, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico competed for the prestigious title. The pageant was broadcast live on TLC. This edition was the 5th year that Las Vegas hosted the pageant. Fifteen contestants were selected as finalists. After competing in swimsuit, the judges selected the top 12, and three are eliminated. After competing evening gown, ten were selected to compete in talent, and two are eliminated. Then, three are eliminated and seven were selected prior to the final interview. At the end of the competition, the 4 runner-ups were announced first, followed by the new Miss America winner.

Miss America 2011 was the 90th Miss America pageant. Since the first Miss America pageant was held 90 years ago, in 1921, the Miss America Organization is celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2011. It was held at the Theatre for the Performing Arts in Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on January 15, 2011. Miss America 2010, Caressa Cameron from Virginia, crowned her successor Teresa Scanlan from Nebraska at the end of this event. It was the first time a Miss Nebraska had won the title. Delegates from the 50 states and the District of Columbia, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico competed for the title of Miss America 2011. The pageant was broadcast live on ABC. This was the first pageant telecast on ABC since Miss America 2005.

Miss America 2012, the 91st Miss America pageant, was held at the Theatre for the Performing Arts at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on January 14, 2012. Miss America 2011, Teresa Scanlan from Nebraska, crowned her successor Laura Kaeppeler from Wisconsin at the end of this event. It was broadcast live on ABC[3]. All 50 states plus the District of Columbia, Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico competed for the prestigious title.
