Madison is a Canadian television teen drama series produced by Forefront Entertainment Group in Vancouver and broadcast in 88 countries worldwide. After first run of 65 episodes on Global TV Network 1993 - 1998, it continued to air on Showcase and YTV in Canada 1998 - 2002. Madison was a hard-hitting teen drama of 30 minute episodes. The series tackled teens' serious life crises with realistic resolutions. The series was created originally for classrooms as a learning aid under the title of 'Working It Out at Madison', but networks fell in love with its gritty story lines and impressive acting. The producers were nominated for Best Dramatic Series at Canada's Gemini Awards for outstanding television in 1995, 96 and 1997. Madison had a talented cast that went on to strong acting careers: In 1996, Joely Collins won Canada's "Best Actress" Gemini Award at age 22. Barry Pepper went on to act in 'Saving Private Ryan' and The Green Mile' with Tom Hanks, 'Enemy of the State' with Will Smith, then he won an Emmy Award for Best Actor in a Mini-Series for his role as Bobby in 'The Kennedy in 2011. Another Madison actor, Will Sasso was a regular on 'MadTV' for several seasons and cast as Curly in 'The Three Stooges' film release in 2012. Actress Enuka Okuma has appeared in the hit series '24' and currently appears as a regular cast member of cop drama, 'Rookie Blue'.

Seasons & Episodes

Jamie turns in his wildside to do a turn with the army, but he's not as successful at basic training camp as he thought he would be and is the worst in the unit. Sheri and Rachael are left in a bind since Noella took off with Mick to 'see the world', and are desperate to find a new roommate. Carol is furious when Elliot drops her after telling her she's finished, and refuses to pay her the money he owes her. Tia returns to Vancouver, and accepts Rachael's offer to move in with her and Sheri.

Sheri has been ""discovered"". A chance encounter with a modeling agent could lead her into all kinds of well-paying work, and out of the creeping boredom she has been fighting.

Jamie's squad hits day forty of basic training - and are free for a night of blowing off steam.

Sheri's new agent Roxanne is determined to get her client work, and an expensive new wardrobe is part of the plan.

Jamie hasn't just survived the Army's basic training; he's starting to thrive. Things are growing increasingly tense in the barracks though, and it's entirely his fault. Sheri is starting to enjoy a real burst of success with her career, and takes Kevin out for the weekend to celebrate. Rachael pushes Neill for a raise after he gives Tia one. (1997)

Tia is organising a Christian rock concert (Godapalooza) and wants everyone to be part of it. Carol initially refuses, as she is caught up in her recent problems with Nick, but when one of the acts cancels, she agrees to perform. Rachael wants nothing to do with the concert, but Neill heads there to unwind after a blow-out with her. Sheri shares with Kevin her feelings that Neill isn't sincere in his feelings for Rachael. Kevin is a little out of his league when Richard Long asks him to hunt down Albert Cheung, an associate who owes him some serious money. Things get hairy when Long's daughter Allysia, who makes no attempt to hide her crush on Kevin, tags along. After Carol accidentally hits Nick with her guitar, he turns around and belts her, then tells her a story about a six-year-old boy he had to comfort today after his mother died. Jamie begins to realise that his father is a different man in the office.

Sheri gets a modeling assignment that just happens to be in the deep woods. While the other crew members watch reruns of Melrose Place, Sheri finds herself attracted to their guide, Rick. Kevin is in charge of 'babysitting' Richard Long's daughter Allysia for the day.

Jamie and his father go out for a night on the town, and each get tattooes on their butts. Sheri feels guilty about sleeping with Erik, which strains her relationship with Kevin. Tia starts to realise there's something wrong with Nick and Carol's relationship. Derek gets the job offer of a lifetime, but it's in Chicago.

Tia takes Carol out for the night to cheer her up while Nick is gone on a fishing trip, and when Carol runs into Angus from Godapalooza (Is Jesus in the House?), she agrees to a quick roadtrip to Salmon Arm. Rachael finds Sheri's picture of Erik, and Sheri admits to having slept with Erik, but says she doesn't feel guilty. Jamie's dad puts him in charge of the firm's daycare, which Jamie soon has running like a well-oiled machine.

Rachael is upset that Neill is more interested in trivia games than their wedding. Sheri and Tia more or less accidentally commit themselves to throwing her a bridal shower when Rachael accuses them of not caring about her. Kevin turns down the opportunity to spend the weekend with Allysia, but reconsiders when he learns Sheri slept with Erik a few weeks ago. Despite her Christian beliefs, Tia can't forget about Jamie, the only guy she ever really loved.

Kevin is still trying to recover from the knowledge that he and Sheri are finished with when he learns that Albert Leong, the man Richard Long had him locate, has been murdered. Carol leaves Nick when he beats her up, and moves in with Tia, Rachael, and Sheri. Rachael and Neill are failures in marital counseling. Tia and Jamie are finally back together. (1997)

Kevin is sweating it out at the police station. The cops want him to get damning information against Richard Long, by wearing a wiretap.

Russell Jerome Winslow1978 - 1996 Tia has not been able to accept R.J.'s death six months ago, and is relying more and more heavily on Jamie. Jamie loves Tia, but is terrified she'll find out that he slept with Kim the night R.J. died. Rachael is initially fired by Neill after lying on her resume, but he later takes pity on her and hires her back.

Kevin starts film school, but is soon disillusioned by the narrow-minded attitudes of the other students and the professor. Carol is astounded when she takes a temp job to pay her rent and realises that her boss is the last of the great male chauvinists. Rachel and Sheri search for a place, but soon realise it isn't that easy.

Mick and Jamie meet at the casual labor lineup, and both are hired by Red, a man who salvages houses professionally. Derek's dad has a stroke, and Derek makes the decision to put his dreams aside to run the business.

While working at a community cable station, Kevin convinces the manager to let him shoot a documentary on street kids. Sheri and Rachael are creeped out by their basement roommate Larry.

Jamie is trying to get things together, but his father has cut him out of his life, and when he asks Rachael to put in a good word for him with Neill, she shuts him down, still not over their one-night-stand in high-school. Carol lends her first solo recording to an office co-worker who lands her a gig at The Sunspot, one of the hottest clubs in town -- Beth is angry and jealous, but Mick supports his former girlfriend. Rachael is upset when Neill starts talking about Fran, and she finds out that Fran is his on-again off-again fianc‚e.

Rachael decides to 'save' street kid Clover by offering her a job at LavaLand, but Clover's street friends keep causing trouble. Sheri begins falling for Aaron, an engineering student at UBC, while Noella's got her eye on Kevin. Beth is upset when Carol lands a solo gig and a new manager.

Kevin gets his first production gig, but things don't go as planned when the star of the cooking show walks off the set. Stressed out by his father's condition, Derek hires Jamie to help at Wakaluk Repairs. Sheri is upset when roommate Noella begins dating Kevin, and asks her not to. Carol's mother moves in with her after leaving her father.

Jamie can't apply for welfare because his father won't sign emancipation papers, and ends up babysitting Vicki's son Rich. Red offers Mick the chance to learn to build boats, but Mick isn't sure if he's ready to make it a career. Sheri shocks Aaron with the news that she's married, but he's able to accept it.

Rachael asks Noella and Sheri for advice on dealing with Neill, and eventually follows Noella's advice and just goes for it. Elliot pushes Carol into hitting the party circuit after her performance nets her rave reviews. Derek buys an old microphone set, and eventually asks for his father's help in fixing it.

After months of flirting, Rachel and her boss, Neill, finally decide that it's time they took their relationship to a deeper level.

When Sheri's boyfriend, Aaron, arranges for her to meet his parents, Sheri realizes that he is much more serious about their relationship than she is.

It looks like Jamie Novak is finally getting his act together.

On the day of the divorce, Kevin picks up Clover, a Street kid, who has escaped from a juvenile detention facility. A cop stops Carol for speeding, then asks her out. Jamie starts to grow up. (Recap available.)

Sheri and Kevin are preparing for their upcoming wedding. She is six months pregnant, and looking for a way to provide for her and their upcoming child, Kevin takes a job as a cab driver. It's only with his brother Cal's help that he's able to get the cab on the road, as it's desperately in need of repairs.

The students of Madison are shocked when Grant Wong transfers to their school from back east, as he is a dead ringer for his dead cousin, David 'Twister' Wong. After many counseling sessions, Jamie begins to think that things are coming together for his family, until his mother announces she's moving out. Tom's family is moving to Toronto, and Tia begins to realise that she doesn't care about Tom as much as she thought. R.J.'s parents reach out to the troubled Jamie, showing him what a good family should be.

Kevin and Sheri have accepted his parents' offer to live with them, but Kevin can't understand why Sheri objects to his mother's frequent visits to their living quarters, which occur whether or not they're even home. Carol shocks her parents when she announces that she is dropping out of school, and nothing she says can make them understand. Students continue to look at Grant Wong like they're seeing a ghost.

Sheri is rushed to the hospital in full labor while Kevin is at school, and gives birth to a baby boy. Unfortunately, the doctor soon tells them that their child has a heart murmur, and will need surgery. Jamie is still attending counseling sessions with his parents, and is shocked when his mother tells his father that she thinks they should adopt a baby and start from scratch.

R.J. uses a fake I.D. to get into a bar where he meets Monica Reynolds, a beautiful 25-year-old stockbrocker who has no idea he's only 17. Tia breaks things off with Tom after realising she has much stronger feelings for Jamie. Derek and Grant's project goes much better than expected. Tom's drinking starts to get out of control.

Carol and Penny take off on a cross-country tour to find legendary writer B.B. Kelly, but problems ensue when Carol takes off with a good-looking drifter, leaving Penny stranded in the woods. Kevin and Sheri aren't able to talk through their grief over Noah's death, and Kevin is working harder than ever. He's thrown when his passenger climbs into his car in a robe wearing a crown of thorns. Despite the eight-year difference in their ages, Monica and R.J. seem to be going strong.

Rachel has always been on the sidelines of the love fest. But now, she has not one, but two boyfriends. Riley is the intelligent university student, who enjoys foreign films and dead baby jokes online. Grant is the fun one, who was a friend first and a boyfriend second. Sheri and Kevin continue to have problems in their relationship...Sheri is starting to reach out to Kevin, but he is beginning to shut her out of his life. Tia and Jamie begin dating officially, and while Jamie has not pressed charges against Tom for assault, he makes it clear to Tom that it better not happen again.

Carol and Penny continue their long distance trip to find B.B. Kelly, and are shocked when a taxidermist tells them that she's still alive and lives nearby. Kevin and Sheri are having trouble putting their relationship back together, and Kevin is furious when Sheri dances with someone else. Tom continues to pick at Jamie when he and Tia go to a party at Tom's, and Jamie finally breaks and bests Tom at a drinking contest.

Carol is upset when she learns that the band has hired another guitar player in her absence, especially when Juliana starts giving her unsolicited advice, which only adds to her stress once she learns that her mother's cancer has spread. Tia is angry when she loses out for candy-striper of the year to Jennifer, who all the other girls know is as fake as they come, and drinks more out of Jamie's flask than she should. Tom's drinking is starting to cause serious problems for his schooling, and he has to beg Gortch to let him do a make-up exam.

Penny and Tom both take part in a sleep deprivation experiment to make some extra cash, and each discover something new about the other that they hadn't known before. Tia feels uncomfortable around Jamie after having drunken sex with him, not sure how to tell him that it wasn't good for her.

Carol does her best Mother Theresa impression trying to help her mom who is fighting cancer.

When Jamie's dad's new young girlfriend moves into the Novak house, Jamie moves over to the Winslow's.

Carol prompts the band to make their own rock video and enlists the help of Kevin.

Penny learns that sometimes good deeds can have bad reactions. Kevin and Sheri have their first date. Carol gets to play with the band. (1994)

Jamie is upset when Penny blows him off after they have what he thought was a wonderful date. R.J. initially has trouble fitting in at Madison.

After Teddy disappears from an afternoon soccer game, Tom realises his father is back in town. Quinn can't figure out why his son is so upset, but eventually realises it's because he came back for Teddy, but not for Tom.

David 'Twister' Wong1977 - 1994 After Twister dies in a tragic accident while out partying with Jamie, the students of Madison are torn on how to deal with their grief. Jamie is having trouble accepting that it was his idea to go out on the boat that day, and Derek lashes out at Jamie over the loss of their friend. (1994)

Penny is thrilled when her boss offers her the chance to become a junior partner, but soon realises the offer has strings attached. Jamie starts hanging out with some older kids with criminalistic tendancies.

Carol's band has just gotten a gig, but she has skipped school so much that her parents have grounded her. Rachel is upset that Tia is receiving anonymous love poems and not her. Sheri is thrilled to be accepted to the university of her choice.

Jamie hestitates when he realises that the place he and his band are robbing belongs to Derek Wakaluk's dad, who Jamie has known since he was 6. Sheri breaks up with Kevin after the truth sinks in about her pregnancy, and makes an appointment to get an abortion. Tia continues to believe it's Vincent sending her poetry, but it's actually Tom.

Tia agrees to go to the upcoming Cadillac Tramps concert with Vincent, and Rachael is thrilled to get asked out by Jamie after interviewing him about his recent thievery. Both are highly disappointed, as Tia is labeled a slut for Vincent's claims that he slept with her, and Rachael feels like one after sleeping with Jamie.

After Vincent learns that R.J. will be kicked off the basketball team if he gets into a fight, he deliberately goads him, continuing his lies that R.J.'s sister Tia slept with him. Carol is furious with Penny after learning that thanks to Penny, the entire school believes that she is gay.

Kevin and Sheri consider giving their child up for a private adoption, but something feels wrong about the too perfect parents and the forty thousand dollars the agency wants to pay them. Jamie is arrested and told that he can only get off if he names names, which he refuses to do.

Tia takes Tom out on a mystery date which seems to be turning into a complete disaster as Tom can only think about a math test. Kevin and Sheri tell their parents about her pregnancy, and don't get the reaction they expected from his parents.

R.J. isn't sure how to feel when he meets his birth mother.

Jamie hasn't been able to forget about Twister, and still feels responsible for his death. He's also equally troubled by his parents' growing distance from himself and each other. When it seems that everyone he knows has turned against him, Jamie decides that suicide is the only way to escape the pain of Twister's death. Kevin asks Sheri to marry him, not realising that it's being transmitted throughout the entire school via the P.A. system.

Carol is looking for an escape from the stifling constraints of home and school and finds escape hanging out on the streets with her friend Sonia and a pair of homeless dropouts, Mick and T.J. (1993)

Penny's father walked out on her and her mother when she was a child. Since then, high school senior Penny has had trouble with intimacy. As she pulls away from her boyfriend Brad, Penny's mother Frances is starting a relationship with Hank, a firefighter, that Penny seems determined to sabotage. (1993)

Frustrated by the unruliness and lack of learning in Robert Simmonds history class, a talented student, Tom Conner, blows up at the teacher, blasting him for letting the students get out of control. He soon realises that Simmonds is more than just a dinosaur, and that he could really offer the class an education. (1993)

Norm Michaels is a police liaison assigned to work with the kids at Madison, but all he gets are crank calls, until he gets two mystery calls from a 'friend' asking him to look out for Jamie Novak. Lately Jamie has been fighting to back up his friend Mac. It turns out that the calls are being made by Jamie's friend Derek. Before Norm can save Jamie, a confrontation with his girlfriend Karen stops Jamie from going to a fight, as he breaks down. (1993)

Paul is sixteen and small for his age, prompting the other kids in his classes to make fun of him. After he is turned down for a party invite by Linda, a girl he really likes, he starts going to a local gym, where bodybuilder Dennis starts teaching him how to build muscle. He is tempted to take the 'supplements' that keep Dennis in shape, but after talking to his coach, realises that it won't mean as much if he doesn't get there honestly. (1993)

Alex Blake has been troubled lately. His mother has recently left his abusive father, taking his sister Michelle with her. And his girlfriend, Lisa Van Horne, is looking forward to heading off to college, without him. When Alex's anger starts to scare Lisa, Sheri tries to encourage her friend to break things off with him. (1991)

Allison is in grade eleven, and thrilled that she has gotten a date with Sam, a graduating student who is popular and extremely well-liked. But after a misunderstanding at a party, Allison is questioning her own actions, and Sam receives some hard lessons from his older brother Jack. (1991)

A driven and determined high school senior, Sheri Davis soon discovers that she can't balance an overloaded schedule and prepare for college at the same time. (1993)

Greg Peterson isn't exactly a model student. Though he spends his off-school hours coaching elementary school kids, he barely makes it onto Coach Kolaski's short list for a summer job as a basketball camp counsellor. (1991)
