Barnaby Jones is a television detective series starring Buddy Ebsen and Lee Meriwether as father- and daughter-in-law who run a private detective firm in Los Angeles. The show ran on CBS from January 28, 1973 to April 3, 1980, beginning as a midseason replacement. William Conrad guest starred as Frank Cannon of Cannon on the first episode of Barnaby Jones, "Requiem for a Son" and the two series had a two-part crossover episode in 1975, "The Deadly Conspiracy".

Barnaby and J.R. investigates an insurance case that was reported as a suicide, but J.R. has a feeling that it could actually be a murder stemming from a blackmail conspiracy.

While taking a couple of days vacation to help out a friend, Betty encounters a serial rapist who prays upon women who frequent a local bar- only to learn that a different man has already been sent to prison for earlier similar assaults.

It seems that the man was getting together with the leader's girl who's also a member of the gang. And there's dissension in the gang when the leader insists on restoring the...

An insurance company hires Barnaby to investigate the death of the owner of a motor corporation who drove his motorcycle off a cliff during testing. After Jones hears rumors of an affair, and then learns of another mysterious motorcyclist in the area that day, he suspects it was no accident.
