American Justice is an American criminal justice television program that aired on the A&E Network, hosted by Bill Kurtis. The show features interesting or notable cases, such as the Selena Murder of a Star, Scarsdale Diet doctor murder, the Hillside Stranglers, Matthew Shepard, or the Wells Fargo heist, with the stories told by key players, such as police, lawyers, victims, and the perpetrators themselves. More than 250 episodes were produced, making it the longest-running documentary justice show on cable. The series' final new episode was produced in 2005. However, old episodes are being rerun on A&E's sister, network, The Biography Channel, under the title Notorious, with no changes to the episodes except for new credit sequences and commercial bumpers. Past episodes are also available on DVD.

Aileen Carol "Lee" Wuornos was an American serial killer and prostitute who murdered seven men in Florida in 1989 and 1990 by shooting them at point-blank range.

Chronicling the case of the Yorkshire Ripper, a serial killer who preyed upon young women (some of them prostitutes) in the 1970s. A manhunt led to the arrest of Peter Sutcliffe, who was convicted of 13 murders in 1981.

An account of how FBI agent Joseph D. Pistone, a.k.a. Donnie Brasco, infiltrated the New York mob in the late 1970s. The undercover operation became the subject of a 1997 feature film starring Johnny Depp and Al Pacino. Pistone discusses the operation, various mobsters and the strain on his family.

Mob Ladies

Profiles several women who were intimately involved with mob leaders. Interviewed are Arlyne Weiss-Brinkman, who also became an FBI informant and Antoinette Giancana. Giancana was the daughter of Sam Giancana and known as the Mafia Princess. Virginia Hill, the girlfriend of Bugsy Siegel is also profiled.

They are the most feared figures in the business of organized crime- the triggermen whose job it is to eliminate contentious witnesses, rivals, and fellow mobsters in accordance with their bosses' orders.

The 1978 mass suicide of followers of Rev. Jim Jones, a cult leader who founded Jonestown in Guyana for the work of his People's Temple. Also: the murder of Rep. Leo J. Ryan, who was investigating allegations made by temple members.
